2023-08-30MdeModulePkg/DxeCorePerformanceLib:fix smm perf issueTan, Dun1-13/+19
Fix smm perf issue in DxeCorePerformanceLib. In current code logic, total SMM perf record is copied multiple times to FPDT table if multiple ReadyToBoot events are signaled. This patch changes the function InternalGetSmmPerfData() to only get newly generated Smm perf data. Then previous generated Smm perf data won't be copied to FPDT again. REF: https://bugzilla.tianocore.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2957 1. Allocate performance data table at EndOfDxe and then lock the varible which store the table address at EndOfDxe. 2. Enlarge PCD gEfiMdeModulePkgTokenSpaceGuid.PcdExtFpdtBootRecordPadSize from 0x20000 to 0x30000 in order to hold the Delta performance data between EndOfDxe and ReadyToBoot. 3. SMM performance data is collected by DXE modules through SMM communication at ReadyToBoot before. Now to do SMM communication twice, one for allocating the performance size at EndOfDxe, another is at ReadyToBoot to get SMM performance data. 4. 2019-10-09MdeModulePkg: fix cast in GetModuleInfoFromHandle() callsLaszlo Ersek1-6/+6
GetModuleInfoFromHandle() takes an EFI_HANDLE -- (VOID*) -- as first parameter, but InsertFpdtRecord() passes (EFI_HANDLE*) -- (VOID**). (VOID**) converts silently to (VOID*), which is why the wrong cast is masked. Note that the *value* that is passed is alright -- therefore this patch does not change behavior --, it's just semantically wrong to pass an (EFI_HANDLE*) where an EFI_HANDLE is expected. 2017-11-29MdeModulePkg/DxeCorePerformanceLib: add lock protectionHeyi Guo1-1/+66
DXE performance gauge record access functions might be reentered since we are supporting something like USB hot-plug, which is a timer event where gBS->ConnectController might be called and then PERF will be called in CoreConnectSingleController. When StartGaugeEx is being reentered, not only the gauge record might be overwritten, more serious situation will be caused if gauge data buffer reallocation procedure is interrupted, between line 180 and 187 in DxeCorePerformanceLib.c specifically. There, mMaxGaugeRecords will be doubled twice (denoted as 4X), but mGaugeData only points to a buffer of size 2X, which will probably cause the following 2X memory to be overflowed when gauge records are increased. So we add EFI lock with TPL_NOTIFY in StartGaugeEx/EndGaugeEx/GetGaugeEx to avoid memory overflow and gauge data corruption.
