2025-07-15hw/acpi/ged: Prepare the device to react to PCI hotplug eventsEric Auger1-0/+35
QEMU will notify the OS about PCI hotplug/hotunplug events through GED interrupts. Let the GED device handle a new PCI hotplug event. On its occurrence it calls the \\_SB.PCI0.PCNT method with the BLCK mutex held. The GED device uses a dedicated MMIO region that will be mapped by the machine code. At this point the GED still does not support PCI device hotplug in its TYPE_HOTPLUG_HANDLER implementation. This will come in a subsequent patch. 2025-07-15hw/acpi/ged: Call pcihp plug callbacks in hotplug handler implementationEric Auger1-0/+17
Add PCI device related code in the TYPE_HOTPLUG_HANDLER implementation. For a PCI device hotplug/hotunplug event, the code routes to acpi_pcihp_device callbacks (pre_plug_cb, plug_cb, unplug_request_cb, unplug_cb). 2024-07-22hw/acpi: Update GED _EVT method AML with CPU scanSalil Mehta1-0/+3
OSPM evaluates _EVT method to map the event. The CPU hotplug event eventually results in start of the CPU scan. Scan figures out the CPU and the kind of event(plug/unplug) and notifies it back to the guest. Update the GED AML _EVT method with the call to method \\_SB.CPUS.CSCN (via \\_SB.GED.CSCN) Architecture specific code [1] might initialize its CPUs AML code by calling common function build_cpus_aml() like below for ARM: build_cpus_aml(scope, ms, opts, xx_madt_cpu_entry, memmap[VIRT_CPUHP_ACPI].base, "\\_SB", "\\_SB.GED.CSCN", AML_SYSTEM_MEMORY); [1] https://lore.kernel.org/qemu-devel/20240613233639.202896-13-salil.mehta@huawei.com/ Co-developed-by: Keqian Zhu <zhukeqian1@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Keqian Zhu <zhukeqian1@huawei.com> Signed-off-by: Salil Mehta <salil.mehta@huawei.com> Reviewed-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com> Reviewed-by: Gavin Shan <gshan@redhat.com> Tested-by: Vishnu Pajjuri <vishnu@os.amperecomputing.com> Tested-by: Xianglai Li <lixianglai@loongson.cn> Tested-by: Miguel Luis <miguel.luis@oracle.com> Reviewed-by: Shaoqin Huang <shahuang@redhat.com> Tested-by: Zhao Liu <zhao1.liu@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Igor Mammedov <imammedo@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20240716111502.202344-5-salil.mehta@huawei.com> Reviewed-by: Michael S. 2024-07-22hw/acpi: Update ACPI GED framework to support vCPU HotplugSalil Mehta1-0/+47
ACPI GED (as described in the ACPI 6.4 spec) uses an interrupt listed in the _CRS object of GED to intimate OSPM about an event. Later then demultiplexes the notified event by evaluating ACPI _EVT method to know the type of event. Use ACPI GED to also notify the guest kernel about any CPU hot(un)plug events. Note, GED interface is used by many hotplug events like memory hotplug, NVDIMM hotplug and non-hotplug events like system power down event. Each of these can be selected using a bit in the 32 bit GED IO interface. A bit has been reserved for the CPU hotplug event. ACPI CPU hotplug related initialization should only happen if ACPI_CPU_HOTPLUG support has been enabled for particular architecture. Add cpu_hotplug_hw_init() stub to avoid compilation break. 2020-01-24qdev: set properties with device_class_set_props()Marc-André Lureau1-1/+1
The following patch will need to handle properties registration during class_init time. 2019-10-05hw/acpi: Add ACPI Generic Event Device SupportSamuel Ortiz1-0/+303
The ACPI Generic Event Device (GED) is a hardware-reduced specific device[ACPI v6.1 Section 5.6.9] that handles all platform events, including the hotplug ones. This patch generates the AML code that defines GEDs. Platforms need to specify their own GED Event bitmap to describe what kind of events they want to support through GED. Also this uses a a single interrupt for the GED device, relying on IO memory region to communicate the type of device affected by the interrupt. This way, we can support up to 32 events with a unique interrupt. This supports only memory hotplug for now.
