fix(developer): char map drop into text editor 🍒

fix(developer): kmlmc generates invalid json with smp 🍒

With changes to the text editor relating to focus,
double-clicking and drag-dropping from character
map no longer worked reliably. This patch resolves
this problem.

Fixes #2466.

nodejs 12.0 includes well-formed JSON.stringify
which resolves the issues with unpaired
surrogates resulting in U+FFFD in output JSON
