2023-01-15nds32: drop it, together with aice adapter driverAntonio Borneo1-6/+0
The target nds32 and its companion adapter aice have not received any real improvement since 2013. It has been hard to keep them aligned during the evolution of OpenOCD code, with no way for maintainers to really check if they are still working. No real documentation is present for them in OpenOCD. The nds32 code triggers ~50 errors/warnings with scan-build. The arch nds32 has been dropped from Linux kernel v5.18-rc1. For all the reasons above, this code has been deprecated with commit 2e5df83de7f2 ("nds32: deprecate it, together with aice adapter driver") and tagged to be dropped before v0.13.0. Let it r.i.p. in OpenOCD git history. While there, drop from checkpatch list the camelcase symbols that where only used in this code. The driver jlink defines the command 'jlink serial' to specify the serial string of the adapter. Remove and deprecate the driver command, and use 'adapter serial'. Note: in former code the commands 'jlink serial' and 'jlink usb' were mutually exclusive; running one of them would invalidate the effect of a previous execution of the other. The new code gives priority to 'adapter serial', even if executed before 'jlink usb'. The driver xds110 defines the command 'xds110 serial' to specify the serial string of the adapter. Remove and deprecate the driver command, and use 'adapter serial'. Note: the original command 'xds110 serial' used a complex and undocumented conversion of the serial number through multibyte string, wide-character string and C cast. The XDS110 I can access and the lsusb dumps available through Google don't show any exotic USB serial that require such conversion. The original developer doesn't remember any constraint that mandates such conversion (see comments in https://review.openocd.org/4322/). The conversion is removed by this patch. 2021-03-19startup.tcl: remove commands already deprecated in v0.7.0Antonio Borneo1-42/+1
Some command were already marked as deprecated in release v0.7.0, more then 7 years ago, and for some of them the depredation date is even earlier. We can reasonably expect that in these 7 years any user of OpenOCD has already migrated to v0.7.0 or to some following intermediate build, thus has already updated any local/personal script to get rid of the deprecated message. Drop the commands already deprecated in v0.7.0. 2020-09-05hla_transport: split command registration per transportAntonio Borneo1-0/+9
All the HLA transports (hla_swd and hla_jtag) register the same set of commands. Such commands are mainly aimed at handling JTAG compatibility that is required for the transport hla_jtag only. Split per transport the command registration and limit the commands to only those required by the transport itself. Replace the command "hla newtap" with the transport specific "swd newdap" or "jtag newtap". Deprecate the command "hla". currently we have different types of same command group: - starting with adapter_* - starting with interface* - without adapter or interface prefix. Since interface name is already used, we can only use "adapter" command group by keeping old commands as well. Replace the JTAG transport specific command with a more generic one. Deprecate "jtag_reset" and update the documentation. 2015-04-14startup: Fixed measure_clk to return kHz instead of MHz.Ed Beroset1-2/+3
The original code had iterated 10,000,000 times and taken the elapsed time divided by 10,000, to yield kHz which is mathematically correct only if we were measuring time in seconds, but we are measuring time in milliseconds, so the correct divisor is actually 10,000,000. Previous code would report 0.500 for actual measured speed of 500 kHz.
