2022-09-18openocd: fix SPDX tag format for files .cAntonio Borneo1-1/+1
With the old checkpatch we cannot use the correct format for the SPDX tags in the file .c, in fact the C99 comments are not allowed and we had to use the block comment. With the new checkpatch, let's switch to the correct SPDX format. 2022-07-23openocd: src/helper: replace the GPL-2.0-or-later license tagAntonio Borneo1-13/+2
Replace the FSF boilerplate with the SPDX tag. The SPDX tag on files *.c is incorrect, as it should use the C99 single line comment using '//'. But current checkpatch doesn't allow C99 comments, so keep using standard C comments, by now. 2021-07-20openocd: fix simple cases of Yoda conditionAntonio Borneo1-1/+1
There are ~900 Yoda conditions to be aligned to the coding style. For recurrent Yoda conditions it's preferable using a trivial script in order to minimize the review effort. E.g. comparison of uppercase macro/enum with lowercase variable: - ...(ERROR_OK == retval)... + ...(retval == ERROR_OK)... Patch generated automatically with the command: sed -i \ 's/(\([A-Z][A-Z0-9_]*\) \([=!]=\) \([a-z][a-z0-9_]*\))/(\3 \2 \1)/g' \ $(find src/ -type f) While there, remove the braces {} around a single statement block to prevent warning from checkpatch. 2021-05-01Cleanup of config/includes.Tim Newsome1-0/+1
Remove a use of AH_BOTTOM from configure.ac. This macro is used by autoheader to add '#include' of some include file to the end of config.h.in and then to config.h. OpenOCD can be built with a custom config.h, so it's preferable to move these '#include' statement directly in the C files that need them dropping this unneeded dependency. It also causes problems when I want to use the gnulib library (which comes with its own Makefile, and does not have the same include path as the top-level Makefile). So this change touches a lot of files, but is actually really simple. It does not affect functionality at all. Images build improperly (by simply concatenating separate images) were accepted, but anything after the first end-of-file record *silently* ignored. Now emit warning for intel and motorola images upon non-whitespace after first end-of-file record but continue reading anyway. ST ships some images broken that way in their CubeMX packages ... Don't use const on pointers that hold heap allocated data, because that means functions that free them must cast away the const. Do use const on pointer parameters or fields that needn't be modified. Remove pointer casts that are no longer needed after fixing the constness. Use size_t instead of uint32_t when specifying file sizes. Update all consumers up through the layers to use size_t when required. These changes should be safe, but the higher-levels will need to be updated further to receive the intended benefits (i.e. large file support). Add error checking for fileio_read and file_write. Previously, all errors were being silently ignored, so this change might cause some problems for some people in some cases. However, it gives us the chance to handle any errors that do occur at higher-levels, rather than burying our heads in the sand.
