2023-07-31target/openrisc: Set EPCR to next PC on FPE exceptionsStafford Horne1-3/+4
The architecture specification calls for the EPCR to be set to "Address of next not executed instruction" when there is a floating point exception (FPE). This was not being done, so fix it by using the same pattern as syscall. Also, we move this logic down to be done for instructions not in the delay slot as called for by the architecture manual. Without this patch FPU exceptions will loop, as the exception handling will always return back to the failed floating point instruction. This was not noticed in earlier testing because: 1. The compiler usually generates code which clobbers the input operand such as: lf.div.s r19,r17,r19 2. The target will store the operation output before to the register before handling the exception. So an operation such as: float a = 100.0f; float b = 0.0f; float c = a / b; /* lf.div.s r19,r17,r19 */ Will first execute: 100 / 0 -> Store inf to c (r19) -> triggering divide by zero exception -> handle and return Then it will execute: 100 / inf -> Store 0 to c (no exception) To confirm the looping behavior and the fix I used the following: float fpu_div(float a, float b) { float c; asm volatile("lf.div.s %0, %1, %2" : "+r" (c) : "r" (a), "r" (b)); return c; } Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Stafford Horne <shorne@gmail.com>
2023-03-07gdbstub: move register helpers into standalone includeAlex Bennée1-1/+1
These inline helpers are all used by target specific code so move them out of the general header so we don't needlessly pollute the rest of the API with target specific stuff. 2018-07-03target/openrisc: Fix delay slot exception flag to match specStafford Horne1-7/+12
The delay slot exception flag is only set on the SR register during exception. Previously it was being set on both the ESR and SR this caused QEMU to differ from the spec. The was apparent as the linux kernel had a bug where it could boot on QEMU but not on real hardware. The fixed logic now matches hardware. 2018-07-03target/openrisc: Fix cpu_mmu_indexRichard Henderson1-4/+0
The code in cpu_mmu_index does not properly honor SR_DME. This bug has workarounds elsewhere in that we flush the tlb more often than necessary, on the state changes that should be reflected in a change of mmu_index. Fixing this means that we can respect the mmu_index that is given to tlb_flush. Signed-off-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Stafford Horne <shorne@gmail.com>

2018-07-03target/openrisc: Merge tlb allocation into CPUOpenRISCStateRichard Henderson1-2/+2
There is no reason to allocate this separately. This was probably copied from target/mips which makes the same mistake. While doing so, move tlb into the clear-on-reset range. While not all of the TLB bits are guaranteed zero on reset, all of the valid bits are cleared, and the rest of the bits are unspecified. Therefore clearing the whole of the TLB is correct. 2017-05-04target/openrisc: Support non-busy idle state using PMR SPRStafford Horne1-0/+2
The OpenRISC architecture has the Power Management Register (PMR) special purpose register to manage cpu power states. The interesting modes are: * Doze Mode (DME) - Stop cpu except timer & pic - wake on interrupt * Sleep Mode (SME) - Stop cpu and all units - wake on interrupt * Suspend Model (SUME) - Stop cpu and all units - wake on reset The linux kernel will set DME when idle. This patch implements the PMR SPR and halts the qemu cpu when there is a change to DME or SME. This means that openrisc qemu in no longer peggs a host cpu at 100%. In order for this to work we need to kick the CPU when timers are expired. Update the cpu timer to kick the cpu upon each timer event. 2017-04-21target/openrisc: Implement EPH bitTim 'mithro' Ansell1-0/+3
Exception Prefix High (EPH) control bit of the Supervision Register (SR). The significant bits (31-12) of the vector offset address for each exception depend on the setting of the Supervision Register (SR)'s EPH bit and the Exception Vector Base Address Register (EVBAR). If SR[EPH] is set, the vector offset is logically ORed with the offset 0xF0000000. This means if EPH is; * 0 - Exceptions vectors start at EVBAR * 1 - Exception vectors start at EVBAR | 0xF0000000 Signed-off-by: Tim 'mithro' Ansell <mithro@mithis.com> Signed-off-by: Stafford Horne <shorne@gmail.com>

2017-02-14target/openrisc: Fix exception handling status registersStafford Horne1-0/+7
I am working on testing instruction emulation patches for the linux kernel. During testing I found these 2 issues: - sets DSX (delay slot exception) but never clears it - EEAR for illegal insns should point to the bad exception (as per openrisc spec) but its not This patch fixes these two issues by clearing the DSX flag when not in a delay slot and by setting EEAR to exception PC when handling illegal instruction exceptions. After this patch the openrisc kernel with latest patches boots great on qemu and instruction emulation works. 2016-12-20Move target-* CPU file into a target/ folderThomas Huth1-0/+87
We've currently got 18 architectures in QEMU, and thus 18 target-xxx folders in the root folder of the QEMU source tree. More architectures (e.g. RISC-V, AVR) are likely to be included soon, too, so the main folder of the QEMU sources slowly gets quite overcrowded with the target-xxx folders. To disburden the main folder a little bit, let's move the target-xxx folders into a dedicated target/ folder, so that target-xxx/ simply becomes target/xxx/ instead.
