2025-08-30linux-user: Standardize on ELF_MACHINE not ELF_ARCHRichard Henderson1-1/+1
PowerPC was the one outlier that defined both ELF_ARCH and ELF_MACHINE; ELF_ARCH was defined incorrectly, necessitating the definition of elf_check_arch. However, the elf file header field in question is called e_machine, so ELF_MACHINE is in fact the better name. Mechanically change most target/target_elf.h files, then adjust ppc/target_elf.h manually. Do not provide a default for ELF_MACHINE. 2025-02-18linux-user: Move TARGET_SA_RESTORER out of generic/signal.hAndreas Schwab1-0/+1
SA_RESTORER and the associated sa_restorer field of struct sigaction are an obsolete feature, not expected to be used by future architectures. They are also absent on RISC-V, LoongArch, Hexagon and OpenRISC, but defined due to their use of generic/signal.h. This leads to corrupted data and out-of-bounds accesses. Move the definition of TARGET_SA_RESTORER out of generic/signal.h into the target_signal.h files that need it. Note that m68k has the sa_restorer field, but does not use it and does not define SA_RESTORER. 2023-02-03linux-user: move target_flat.h to target subdirsMike Frysinger1-0/+1
This makes target_flat.h behave like every other target_xxx.h header. It also makes it actually work -- while the current header says adding a header to the target subdir overrides the common one, it doesn't. This is for two reasons: * meson.build adds -Ilinux-user before -Ilinux-user/$arch * the compiler search path for "target_flat.h" looks in the same dir as the source file before searching -I paths. This can be seen with the xtensa port -- the subdir settings aren't used which breaks stack setup. Move it to the generic/ subdir and add include stubs like every other target_xxx.h header is handled. According to the M68040 Users Manual, section 8.4.3, Six word stack frame (format 2), Zero Div (and others) is supposed to record the next insn in PC and the address of the trapping instruction in ADDRESS. While the N, Z and V flags are documented to be undefine on DIV0, the C flag is documented as always cleared. Update helper_div* to take the instruction length as an argument and use raise_exception_format2. Hoist the reset of the C flag above the division by zero check. Update m68k_interrupt_all to pass mmu.ar to do_stack_frame. Update cpu_loop to pass mmu.ar to siginfo.si_addr, as the kernel does in trap_c(). 2021-09-13linux-user: Split linux-user internals out of qemu.hPeter Maydell2-0/+2
qemu.h is included in various non-linux-user files (which mostly want the TaskState struct and the functions for doing usermode access to guest addresses like lock_user(), unlock_user(), get_user*(), etc). Split out the parts that are only used in linux-user itself into a new user-internals.h. This leaves qemu.h with basically three things: * the definition of the TaskState struct * the user-access functions and macros * do_brk() all of which are needed by code outside linux-user that includes qemu.h. The addition of all the extra #include lines was done with sed -i '/include.*qemu\.h/a #include "user-internals.h"' $(git grep -l 'include.*qemu\.h' linux-user) (and then undoing the change to fpa11.h). 2020-11-11linux-user: Correct definition of stack_tLemonBoy1-3/+3
Some platforms used the wrong definition of stack_t where the flags and size fields were swapped or where the flags field had type ulong instead of int. Due to the presence of padding space in the structure and the prevalence of little-endian machines this problem went unnoticed for a long time. The type definitions have been cross-checked with the ones defined in the Linux kernel v5.9, plus some older versions for a few architecture that have been removed and Xilinx's kernel fork for NiosII [1]. The bsd-user headers remain unchanged as I don't know if they are wrong or not.
