2024-02-22hw/ide: Split qdev.c into ide-bus.c and ide-dev.cThomas Huth1-12/+18
qdev.c is a mixture between IDE bus specific functions and IDE device functions. Let's split it up to make it more obvious which part is related to bus handling and which part is related to device handling. 2024-02-22hw/ide: Add the possibility to disable the CompactFlash device in the buildThomas Huth1-0/+4
For distros like downstream RHEL, it would be helpful to allow to disable the CompactFlash device. For making this possible, we need a separate Kconfig switch for this device, and the code should reside in a separate file. Let's also introduce a new header ide-dev.h which can be used to collect definitions related to IDE devices. 2021-07-20hw/ide/Kconfig: Add missing dependency PCI -> IDE_QDEVPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé1-1/+1
The pci_ide_create_devs() function is declared i hw/ide/qdev.c: $ git grep ide_create_drive hw/ide/pci.c:491: ide_create_drive(d->bus + bus[i], unit[i], hd_table[i]); hw/ide/qdev.c:127:IDEDevice *ide_create_drive(IDEBus *bus, int unit, DriveInfo *drive) include/hw/ide/internal.h:653:IDEDevice *ide_create_drive(IDEBus *bus, int unit, DriveInfo *drive); Fix the correct symbol dependency to avoid build failure when deselecting some machines: /usr/bin/ld: libcommon.fa.p/hw_ide_pci.c.o: in function `pci_ide_create_devs': hw/ide/pci.c:491: undefined reference to `ide_create_drive' Fixes: 8f01b41e109 ("ide: express dependencies with Kconfig") Acked-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20210515173716.358295-3-philmd@redhat.com> Acked-by: John Snow <jsnow@redhat.com>
2021-05-02hw/ide: Add Kconfig dependency MICRODRIVE -> PCMCIAPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé1-0/+1
The Microdrive Compact Flash can be plugged on a PCMCIA bus. Express the dependency using the 'depends on' Kconfig expression. 2019-05-13hw/ide/ahci: Add a Kconfig switch for the AHCI-ICH9 deviceThomas Huth1-1/+5
Some of our machines (like the ARM cubieboard) use CONFIG_AHCI for an AHCI sysbus device, but do not use CONFIG_PCI since they do not feature a PCI bus. With CONFIG_AHCI but without CONFIG_PCI, currently linking fails: ../hw/ide/ich.o: In function `pci_ich9_ahci_realize': hw/ide/ich.c:124: undefined reference to `pci_allocate_irq' hw/ide/ich.c:126: undefined reference to `pci_register_bar' hw/ide/ich.c:128: undefined reference to `pci_register_bar' hw/ide/ich.c:131: undefined reference to `pci_add_capability' hw/ide/ich.c:147: undefined reference to `msi_init' ../hw/ide/ich.o: In function `pci_ich9_uninit': hw/ide/ich.c:158: undefined reference to `msi_uninit' ../hw/ide/ich.o:(.data.rel+0x50): undefined reference to `vmstate_pci_device' We must only compile ich.c if CONFIG_PCI is available, too, so introduce a new config switch for this device. 2019-03-07build: convert pci.mak to KconfigPaolo Bonzini1-0/+3
Instead of including the same list of devices for each target, set CONFIG_PCI to true, and make the devices default to present whenever PCI is available. However, s390x does not want all the PCI devices, so there is a separate symbol to enable them. Done mostly with the following script: while read i; do i=${i%=y}; i=${i#CONFIG_} sed -i -e'/^config '$i'$/!b' -en \ -e'a\' -e' default y if PCI_DEVICES\' -e' depends on PCI' \ `grep -lw $i hw/*/Kconfig` done < default-configs/pci.mak followed by replacing a few "depends on" clauses with "select" whenever the symbol is not really related to PCI. 2019-03-07kconfig: introduce kconfig filesPaolo Bonzini1-0/+35
The Kconfig files were generated mostly with this script: for i in `grep -ho CONFIG_[A-Z0-9_]* default-configs/* | sort -u`; do set fnord `git grep -lw $i -- 'hw/*/Makefile.objs' ` shift if test $# = 1; then cat >> $(dirname $1)/Kconfig << EOF config ${i#CONFIG_} bool EOF git add $(dirname $1)/Kconfig else echo $i $* fi done sed -i '$d' hw/*/Kconfig for i in hw/*; do if test -d $i && ! test -f $i/Kconfig; then touch $i/Kconfig git add $i/Kconfig fi done Whenever a symbol is referenced from multiple subdirectories, the script prints the list of directories that reference the symbol. These symbols have to be added manually to the Kconfig files. Kconfig.host and hw/Kconfig were created manually.
