2024-01-12Update copyright year range in header of all files managed by GDBAndrew Burgess1-1/+1
This commit is the result of the following actions: - Running gdb/copyright.py to update all of the copyright headers to include 2024, - Manually updating a few files the copyright.py script told me to update, these files had copyright headers embedded within the file, - Regenerating gdbsupport/Makefile.in to refresh it's copyright date, - Using grep to find other files that still mentioned 2023. If these files were updated last year from 2022 to 2023 then I've updated them this year to 2024. I'm sure I've probably missed some dates. Feel free to fix them up as you spot them.
2023-10-02gdb/testsuite: accept variable number of spaces in ↵Simon Marchi1-2/+2
gdb.base/jit-reader-simple.exp regex I see this failure: FAIL: gdb.base/jit-reader-simple.exp: standalone: change addr: initial run: maint info breakpoints shows jit breakpoint The jit breakpoint expected by the test is there, it's just that the number of spaces doesn't match what the test expects, after "jit events": -2 jit events keep y 0x0000555555555119 <__jit_debug_register_code> inf 1 Fix that by relaxing the regex a bit. 2023-01-13Rename to allow_shlib_testsTom Tromey1-1/+1
This changes skip_shlib_tests to invert the sense, and renames it to allow_shlib_tests.
2023-01-13Use require !skip_shlib_testsTom Tromey1-4/+1
This changes some tests to use "require !skip_shlib_tests".
2023-01-01Update copyright year range in header of all files managed by GDBJoel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commit is the result of running the gdb/copyright.py script, which automated the update of the copyright year range for all source files managed by the GDB project to be updated to include year 2023.
2022-01-01Automatic Copyright Year update after running gdb/copyright.pyJoel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commit brings all the changes made by running gdb/copyright.py as per GDB's Start of New Year Procedure. For the avoidance of doubt, all changes in this commits were performed by the script.
2021-09-30gdb/testsuite: make runto_main not pass no-message to runtoSimon Marchi1-1/+0
As follow-up to this discussion: https://sourceware.org/pipermail/gdb-patches/2020-August/171385.html ... make runto_main not pass no-message to runto. This means that if we fail to run to main, for some reason, we'll emit a FAIL. This is the behavior we want the majority of (if not all) the time. Without this, we rely on tests logging a failure if runto_main fails, otherwise. They do so in a very inconsisteny mannet, sometimes using "fail", "unsupported" or "untested". The messages also vary widly. This patch removes all these messages as well. Also, remove a few "fail" where we call runto (and not runto_main). by default (without an explicit no-message argument), runto prints a failure already. In two places, gdb.multi/multi-re-run.exp and gdb.python/py-pp-registration.exp, remove "message" passed to runto. This removes a few PASSes that we don't care about (but FAILs will still be printed if we fail to run to where we want to). This aligns their behavior with the rest of the testsuite. 2020-12-14[gdb/testsuite] Don't pass -fPIC to gdb_compile_shlibTom de Vries1-1/+1
When running test-case gdb.base/info-shared.exp, I see in gdb.log: ... Executing on host: \ gcc ... -fPIC -fpic -c -o info-shared-solib1.c.o info-shared-solib1.c ... The -fPIC comes from the test-case: ... if { [gdb_compile_shlib $srcfile_lib1 $binfile_lib1 \ [list additional_flags=-fPIC]] != "" } { ... but the -fpic, which overrides the -fPIC comes from gdb_compile_shlib. The proc gdb_compile_shlib adds the -fpic or similar dependent on platform and compiler. However, in some cases it doesn't add anything, which is probably why all those test-case pass -fPIC. Fix this by removing -fPIC from all the calls to gdb_compile_shlib, and ensuring that gdb_compile_shlib takes care of adding it, if required. Tested on x86_64-linux. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: 2020-12-14 Tom de Vries <tdevries@suse.de> * lib/gdb.exp (gdb_compile_shlib): Make sure it's not necessary to pass -fPIC. * gdb.ada/catch_ex_std.exp: Don't pass -fPIC to gdb_compile_shlib. * gdb.base/break-probes.exp: Same. * gdb.base/ctxobj.exp: Same. * gdb.base/dso2dso.exp: Same. * gdb.base/global-var-nested-by-dso.exp: Same. * gdb.base/info-shared.exp: Same. * gdb.base/jit-reader-simple.exp: Same. * gdb.base/print-file-var.exp: Same. * gdb.base/skip-solib.exp: Same. * gdb.btrace/dlopen.exp: Same.
2020-07-22gdb/jit: enable tracking multiple JITer objfilesTankut Baris Aktemur1-1/+42
GDB's JIT handler stores an objfile (and data associated with it) per program space to keep track of JIT breakpoint information. This assumes that there is at most one JITer objfile in the program space. However, there may be multiple. If so, only the first JITer's hook breakpoints would be realized and the JIT events from the other JITers would be missed. This patch removes that assumption, allowing an arbitrary number of objfiles within a program space to be JITers. - The "unique" program_space -> JITer objfile pointer in jit_program_space_data is removed. In fact, jit_program_space_data becomes empty, so it is removed entirely. - jit_breakpoint_deleted is modified, it now has to assume that any objfile in a program space is a potential JITer. It now iterates on all objfiles, checking if they are indeed JITers, and if they are, whether the deleted breakpoint belongs to them. - jit_breakpoint_re_set_internal also has to assume that any objfile in a program space is a potential JITer. It creates (or updates) one jiter_objfile_data structure for each JITer it finds. - Same for jit_inferior_init. It now iterates all objfiles to read the initial JIT object list. gdb/ChangeLog: 2020-07-22 Tankut Baris Aktemur <tankut.baris.aktemur@intel.com> Simon Marchi <simon.marchi@polymtl.ca> * jit.c (struct jit_program_space_data): Remove. 2020-04-21[gdb/testsuite] structured rename of jit test filesMihails Strasuns1-0/+162
Reorganizes how JIT related test files to be more clear what are related to JIT reader system tests and what use JIT from ELF objfiles. Those two approaches are quite different in GDB implementation and require very different test setup. Keeping distinction clear at the file name level makes it easier to maintain the testsuite. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: 2020-02-18 Mihails Strasuns <mihails.strasuns@intel.com> * gdb.base: Rename all jit related test and source files.
