2021-11-16openmp: Regimplify operands of GIMPLE_COND in a few more places [PR103208]Jakub Jelinek1-59/+43
As the testcase shows, the non-rectangular loop expansion code didn't try to regimplify operands of GIMPLE_CONDs it built in some cases. I have added a helper function which does that and used it in some places that were regimplifying already to simplify those spots, plus added it in a couple of other places where it was needed. 2021-11-16 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR tree-optimization/103208 * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_build_cond): New function. (expand_omp_for_init_counts, expand_omp_for_init_vars, expand_omp_for_static_nochunk, expand_omp_for_static_chunk): Use it. * c-c++-common/gomp/loop-11.c: New test.
2021-11-11openmp: Add support for 2 argument num_teams clauseJakub Jelinek1-2/+2
In OpenMP 5.1, num_teams clause can accept either one expression as before, but it in that case changed meaning, rather than create <= expression teams it is now create == expression teams. Or it accepts two expressions separated by :, with the meaning that the first is low bound and second upper bound on how many teams should be created. The other ways to set number of teams are upper bounds with lower bound of 1. The following patch does parsing of this for C/C++. For host teams, we actually don't need to do anything further right now, we always create (pretend to create) exactly the requested number of teams, so we can just evaluate and throw away the lower bound for now. For teams nested in target, we don't guarantee that though and further work will be needed. In particular, omplower now turns the teams part of: struct S { S (); S (const S &); ~S (); int s; }; void bar (S &, S &); int baz (); _Pragma ("omp declare target to (baz)"); void foo (void) { S a, b; #pragma omp target private (a) map (b) { #pragma omp teams firstprivate (b) num_teams (baz ()) { bar (a, b); } } } into: retval.0 = baz (); retval.1 = retval.0; { unsigned int retval.3; struct S * D.2549; struct S b; retval.3 = (unsigned int) retval.1; D.2549 = .omp_data_i->b; S::S (&b, D.2549); #pragma omp teams num_teams(retval.1) firstprivate(b) shared(a) __builtin_GOMP_teams (retval.3, 0); { bar (&a, &b); } S::~S (&b); #pragma omp return(nowait) } IMHO we want a new API, say GOMP_teams3 which will take 3 arguments instead of 2 (the lower and upper bounds from num_teams and thread_limit) and will return a bool whether it should do the teams body or not. And, we should add right before outermost {} above while (__builtin_GOMP_teams3 ((unsigned) retval.1, (unsigned) retval.1, 0)) and remove the __builtin_GOMP_teams call. The current function performs exit equivalent (at least on NVPTX) which seems bad because that means the destructors of e.g. private variables on target aren't invoked, and at the current placement neither destructors of the already constructed privatized variables in teams. I'll do this next on the compiler side, but I'm afraid I'll need help with the nvptx and amdgcn implementations. E.g. for nvptx, we won't be able to use %ctaid.x . I think ideal would be to use a .shared integer variable for the omp_get_team_num value, but I don't have any experience with that, are .shared variables zero initialized by default, or do they have random value at start? PTX docs say they aren't initializable. 2021-11-11 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> gcc/ * tree.h (OMP_CLAUSE_NUM_TEAMS_EXPR): Rename to ... (OMP_CLAUSE_NUM_TEAMS_UPPER_EXPR): ... this. 2021-10-27openmp: Allow non-rectangular loops with pointer iteratorsJakub Jelinek1-42/+124
This patch handles pointer iterators for non-rectangular loops. They are more limited than integral iterators of non-rectangular loops, in particular only var-outer, var-outer + a2, a2 + var-outer or var-outer - a2 can appear in lb or ub where a2 is some integral loop invariant expression, so no e.g. multiplication etc. 2021-10-27 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> gcc/ * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_for_init_counts): Handle non-rectangular iterators with pointer types. 2021-09-22openmp: Fix OpenMP expansion of scope with non-fallthrugh body [PR102415]Jakub Jelinek1-2/+8
I've used function for omp single expansion also for omp scope. That is mostly ok, but as the testcase shows, there is one important difference. The omp single expansion always has a fallthru body, because it during omp lowering expands the body as if wrapped in an if to simulate that one thread runs the body and others wait (unless nowait) until it completes and continue. omp scope is invoked by all threads and so if the body is non-fallthru, the barrier (unless nowait) at the end will not be reached by any of the threads. The following patch fixes that by handling the case where cfg pass optimizes away the exit bb of it gracefully. 2021-09-22 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR middle-end/102415 * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_single): If region->exit is NULL, assert region->entry is GIMPLE_OMP_SCOPE region and return. * c-c++-common/gomp/scope-3.c: New test.

2021-09-03openmp: Improve expand_omp_atomic_pipelineJakub Jelinek1-3/+18
When __atomic_* builtins were introduced, omp-expand.c (omp-low.c at that point) has been adjusted in several spots so that it uses the atomic builtins instead of sync builtins, but expand_omp_atomic_pipeline has not because the __atomic_compare_exchange_* APIs take address of the argument, so it kept using __sync_val_compare_swap_*. That means it always uses seq_cst though. This patch changes it to use the ATOMIC_COMPARE_EXCHANGE ifn which gimple-fold folds __atomic_compare_exchange_* into - that ifn also passes expected directly. 2021-09-03 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_atomic_pipeline): Use IFN_ATOMIC_COMPARE_EXCHANGE instead of BUILT_IN_SYNC_VAL_COMPARE_AND_SWAP_? so that memory order can be provided.

2021-08-23openmp: Add support for strict modifier on grainsize/num_tasks clausesJakub Jelinek1-1/+7
With strict: modifier on these clauses, the standard is explicit about how many iterations (and which) each generated task of taskloop directive should contain. For num_tasks it actually matches what we were already implementing, but for grainsize it does not (and even violates the old rule - without strict it requires that the number of iterations (unspecified which exactly) handled by each generated task is >= grainsize argument and < 2 * grainsize argument, with strict: it requires that each generated task handles exactly == grainsize argument iterations, except for the generated task handling the last iteration which can handles <= grainsize iterations). 2021-08-17openmp: Implement OpenMP 5.1 scope constructJakub Jelinek1-2/+5
This patch implements the OpenMP 5.1 scope construct, which is similar to worksharing constructs in many regards, but isn't one of them. The body of the construct is encountered by all threads though, it can be nested in itself or intermixed with taskgroup and worksharing etc. constructs can appear inside of it (but it can't be nested in worksharing etc. constructs). The main purpose of the construct is to allow reductions (normal and task ones) without the need to close the parallel and reopen another one. If it doesn't have task reductions, it can be implemented without any new library support, with nowait it just does the privatizations at the start if any and reductions before the end of the body, with without nowait emits a normal GOMP_barrier{,_cancel} at the end too. For task reductions, we need to ensure only one thread initializes the task reduction library data structures and other threads copy from that, so a new GOMP_scope_start routine is added to the library for that. It acts as if the start of the scope construct is a nowait worksharing construct (that is ok, it can't be nested in other worksharing constructs and all threads need to encounter the start in the same order) which does the task reduction initialization, but as the body can have other scope constructs and/or worksharing constructs, that is all where we use this dummy worksharing construct. With task reductions, the construct must not have nowait and ends with a GOMP_barrier{,_cancel}, followed by task reductions followed by GOMP_workshare_task_reduction_unregister. Only C/C++ FE support is done. 2021-08-17 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> gcc/ * tree.def (OMP_SCOPE): New tree code. * tree.h (OMP_SCOPE_BODY, OMP_SCOPE_CLAUSES): Define. * tree-nested.c (convert_nonlocal_reference_stmt, convert_local_reference_stmt, convert_gimple_call): Handle GIMPLE_OMP_SCOPE. * tree-pretty-print.c (dump_generic_node): Handle OMP_SCOPE. * gimple.def (GIMPLE_OMP_SCOPE): New gimple code. * gimple.c (gimple_build_omp_scope): New function. 2021-08-12openmp: Add support for OpenMP 5.1 masked constructJakub Jelinek1-0/+3
This construct has been introduced as a replacement for master construct, but unlike that construct is slightly more general, has an optional clause which allows to choose which thread will be the one running the region, it can be some other thread than the master (primary) thread with number 0, or it could be no threads or multiple threads (then of course one needs to be careful about data races). It is way too early to deprecate the master construct though, we don't even have OpenMP 5.0 fully implemented, it has been deprecated in 5.1, will be also in 5.2 and removed in 6.0. But even then it will likely be a good idea to just -Wdeprecated warn about it and still accept it. The patch also contains something I should have done much earlier, for clauses that accept some integral expression where we only care about the value, forces during gimplification that value into either a min invariant (as before), SSA_NAME or a fresh temporary, but never e.g. a user VAR_DECL, so that for those clauses we don't need to worry about adjusting it. 2021-08-12 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> gcc/ * tree.def (OMP_MASKED): New tree code. * tree-core.h (enum omp_clause_code): Add OMP_CLAUSE_FILTER. * tree.h (OMP_MASKED_BODY, OMP_MASKED_CLAUSES, OMP_MASKED_COMBINED, OMP_CLAUSE_FILTER_EXPR): Define. * tree.c (omp_clause_num_ops): Add OMP_CLAUSE_FILTER entry. 2021-06-24openmp: in_reduction clause support on target constructJakub Jelinek1-0/+4
This patch adds support for in_reduction clause on target construct, though for now only for synchronous targets (without nowait clause). The encountering thread in that case runs the target task and blocks until the target region ends, so it is implemented by remapping it before entering the target, initializing the private copy if not yet initialized for the current thread and then using the remapped addresses for the mapping addresses. For nowait combined with in_reduction the patch contains a hack where the nowait clause is ignored. To implement it correctly, I think we would need to create a new private variable for the in_reduction and initialize it before doing the async target and adjust the map addresses to that private variable and then pass a function pointer to the library routine with code where the callback would remap the address to the current threads private variable and use in_reduction combiner to combine the private variable we've created into the thread's copy. The library would then need to make sure that the routine is called in some thread participating in the parallel (and not in an unshackeled thread). 2021-06-24 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> gcc/ * tree.h (OMP_CLAUSE_MAP_IN_REDUCTION): Document meaning for OpenMP. * gimplify.c (gimplify_scan_omp_clauses): For OpenMP map clauses with OMP_CLAUSE_MAP_IN_REDUCTION flag partially defer gimplification of non-decl OMP_CLAUSE_DECL. 2021-04-29[omp, simt] Handle alternative IVTom de Vries1-5/+6
Consider the test-case libgomp.c/pr81778.c added in this commit, with this core loop (note: CANARY_SIZE set to 0 for simplicity): ... int s = 1; #pragma omp target simd for (int i = N - 1; i > -1; i -= s) a[i] = 1; ... which, given that N is 32, sets a[0..31] to 1. After omp-expand, this looks like: ... <bb 5> : simduid.7 = .GOMP_SIMT_ENTER (simduid.7); .omp_simt.8 = .GOMP_SIMT_ENTER_ALLOC (simduid.7); D.3193 = -s; s.9 = s; D.3204 = .GOMP_SIMT_LANE (); D.3205 = -s.9; D.3206 = (int) D.3204; D.3207 = D.3205 * D.3206; i = D.3207 + 31; D.3209 = 0; D.3210 = -s.9; D.3211 = D.3210 - i; D.3210 = -s.9; D.3212 = D.3211 / D.3210; D.3213 = (unsigned int) D.3212; D.3213 = i >= 0 ? D.3213 : 0; <bb 19> : if (D.3209 < D.3213) goto <bb 6>; [87.50%] else goto <bb 7>; [12.50%] <bb 6> : a[i] = 1; D.3215 = -s.9; D.3219 = .GOMP_SIMT_VF (); D.3216 = (int) D.3219; D.3220 = D.3215 * D.3216; i = D.3220 + i; D.3209 = D.3209 + 1; goto <bb 19>; [100.00%] ... On nvptx, the first time bb6 is executed, i is in the 0..31 range (depending on the lane that is executing) at bb entry. So we have the following sequence: - a[0..31] is set to 1 - i is updated to -32..-1 - D.3209 is updated to 1 (being 0 initially) - bb19 is executed, and if condition (D.3209 < D.3213) == (1 < 32) evaluates to true - bb6 is once more executed, which should not happen because all the elements that needed to be handled were already handled. - consequently, elements that should not be written are written - with CANARY_SIZE == 0, we may run into a libgomp error: ... libgomp: cuCtxSynchronize error: an illegal memory access was encountered ... and with CANARY_SIZE unmodified, we run into: ... Expected 0, got 1 at base[-961] Aborted (core dumped) ... The cause of this is as follows: - because the step s is a variable rather than a constant, an alternative IV (D.3209 in our example) is generated in expand_omp_simd, and the loop condition is tested in terms of the alternative IV rather than the original IV (i in our example). - the SIMT code in expand_omp_simd works by modifying step and initial value. - The initial value fd->loop.n1 is loaded into a variable n1, which is modified by the SIMT code and then used there-after. - The step fd->loop.step is loaded into a variable step, which is modified by the SIMT code, but afterwards there are uses of both step and fd->loop.step. - There are uses of fd->loop.step in the alternative IV handling code, which should use step instead. Fix this by introducing an additional variable orig_step, which is not modified by the SIMT code and replacing all remaining uses of fd->loop.step by either step or orig_step. Build on x86_64-linux with nvptx accelerator, tested libgomp. This fixes for-5.c and for-6.c FAILs I'm currently seeing on a quadro m1200 with driver 450.66. gcc/ChangeLog: 2020-10-02 Tom de Vries <tdevries@suse.de> * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_simd): Add step_orig, and replace uses of fd->loop.step by either step or orig_step. libgomp/ChangeLog: 2020-10-02 Tom de Vries <tdevries@suse.de> * testsuite/libgomp.c/pr81778.c: New test.
2021-04-11[OpenACC] Fix an ICE where a loop with GT condition is collapsed.Hafiz Abid Qadeer1-1/+1
We have seen an ICE both on trunk and devel/omp/gcc-10 branches which can be reprodued with this simple testcase. It occurs if an OpenACC loop has a collapse clause and any of the loop being collapsed uses GT or GE condition. This issue is specific to OpenACC. int main (void) { int ix, iy; int dim_x = 16, dim_y = 16; { for (iy = dim_y - 1; iy > 0; --iy) for (ix = dim_x - 1; ix > 0; --ix) ; } } The problem is caused by a failing assertion in expand_oacc_collapse_init. It checks that cond_code for fd->loop should be same as cond_code for all the loops that are being collapsed. As the cond_code for fd->loop is LT_EXPR with collapse clause (set at the end of omp_extract_for_data), this assertion forces that all the loop in collapse clause should use < operator. There does not seem to be anything in the code which demands this condition as loop with > condition works ok otherwise. I digged old mailing list a bit but could not find any discussion on this change. Looking at the code, expand_oacc_for checks that fd->loop->cond_code is either LT_EXPR or GT_EXPR. I guess the original intention was to have similar checks on the loop which are being collapsed. But the way check was written does not acheive that. I have fixed it by modifying the check in the assertion to be same as check on fd->loop->cond_code. I tested goacc and libgomp (with nvptx offloading) and did not see any regression. I have added new tests to check collapse with GT/GE condition. 2020-12-12openmp, openacc: Fix up handling of data regions [PR98183]Jakub Jelinek1-19/+9
While the data regions (target data and OpenACC counterparts) aren't standalone directives, unlike most other OpenMP/OpenACC constructs we allow (apparently as an extension) exceptions and goto out of the block. During gimplification we place an *end* call into a finally block so that it is reached even on exceptions or goto out etc.). During omplower pass we then add paired #pragma omp return for them, but due to the exceptions because the region is not SESE we can end up with #pragma omp return appearing only conditionally in the CFG etc., which the ompexp pass can't handle. For the ompexp pass, we actually don't care about the end part or about target data nesting, so we can treat it as standalone directive. 2020-12-12 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR middle-end/98183 * omp-low.c (lower_omp_target): Don't add OMP_RETURN for data regions. * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_target): Don't try to remove OMP_RETURN for data regions. I realized I emit the same stmts on both paths (before goto doit; and before falling through it), at least the MIN_EXPR and PLUS_EXPR, so by forcing there an extra bb which does those two and having the "doit" label before that the innermost loop doesn't have multiple latches anymore and so is vectorized fine. 2020-10-07 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_simd): Don't emit MIN_EXPR and PLUS_EXPR at the end of entry_bb and innermost init_bb, instead force arguments for MIN_EXPR into temporaries in both cases and jump to a new bb that performs MIN_EXPR and PLUS_EXPR. * gcc.dg/gomp/simd-2.c: New test. * gcc.dg/gomp/simd-3.c: New test.

As mentioned earlier, the vectorizer punts on vectorization of loops with non-constant steps. As for OpenMP loops it is by the language restriction always possible to compute the number of loop iterations before the loop, this change helps those cases by computing it and using an alternate IV that iterates from 0 to < niterations with step of 1 next to the normal IV which will be just linear in that. 2020-09-25openmp: Add support for non-rect simd and improve collapsed simd supportJakub Jelinek1-110/+302
The following change adds support for non-rectangular simd loops. While working on that, I've noticed we actually don't vectorize collapsed simd loops at all, because the code that I thought would be vectorizable actually is not vectorized. While in theory for the constant lower/upper bounds and constant step of all but the outermost loop we could in theory vectorize by computing the seprate iterators using vectorized division and modulo for each of them from the single iterator that increments by 1 from 0 to total iteration count in the loop nest, I think that would be fairly expensive and the chances of the loop body being vectorizable would be low e.g. because of array indices unlikely to be linear and would need scatters/gathers. This patch changes the generated code to vectorize only the innermost loop which has higher chance of being vectorized. Below is the list of tests and function names in which the patch resulted in vectorizing something that hasn't been vectorized before (ok, the first line is a new test). I've also found that the vectorizer will not vectorize loops with non-constant steps, I plan to do something about those incrementally on the omp-expand.c side (basically, compute number of iterations before the loop and use a 0 to number_of_iterations step 1 IV as the main one). I have problem with the composite simd vectorization though. The point is that each thread (or task etc.) is given only a range of consecutive iterations, so somewhere earlier it computes total number of iterations and splits the work between the workers and then the intent is to try to vectorize it. So, each thread is then given a begin ... end-1 range that it would handle. This means that from the single begin value I need to compute the individual iteration vars I should start at and then goto into the loop nest to begin iterating there (and actually compute how many iterations the innermost loop should do each time so that it stops before end). Very roughly the IL I emit is something like: int t[100][100][100]; void foo (int a, int b, int c, int d, int e, int f, int g, int h, int u, int v, int w, int x) { int i, j, k; int cnt; if (x) { i = u; j = v; k = w; goto doit; } for (i = a; i < b; i += c) for (j = d; j < e; j += f) { k = g; doit: for (; k < h; k++) t[i][j][k] += i + j + k; } } Unfortunately, some pass then turns the innermost loop to have more than 2 basic blocks and it isn't vectorized because of that. Also, I have disabled (for now) SIMTization of collapsed simd loops, because for SIMT it would be using a single thread anyway and I didn't want to bother with checking SIMT on all places I've been changing. 2020-08-03Removal of HSA offloading from gcc and libgompMartin Jambor1-457/+0
This patch removes the generation of HSAIL from the compiler, the HSA offloading plugin from libgomp and the associated testsuite tests and infrastructure bits from the respective testsuites. Apart from removal of the obvious files, I removed bits that I found by searching for HSA related terms and by re-tracing my steps and looking at the patches that introduced HSA in the first place. I did not remove everything these patches brought in, for example: - the mechanism to pass offload-target specific info from the application to the offloading plugin - but the same mechanism is also used to communicate number of teams and the thread limit to all offload targets. - run_func hook in gomp_device_descr stays too, although now it is not used. If some future offload target would like the ability to refuse to offload some functions, it can use it. It is easy to remove as a follow-up if it is considered clutter, though. - configure options --with-hsa-runtime=PATH, -with-hsa-runtime-include=PATH and --with-hsa-runtime-lib=PATH rmeain because GCN uses them too. - Surprisingly, GOMP_TARGET_ARG_HSA_KERNEL_ATTRIBUTES (a constant from gomp-constants.h) appears in the source of the amdgcn libgomp plugin, although I tend to think that code path is not ever used and this patch certainly removes it from the compiler. Nevertheless, it seems it has potential value beyond HSAIL and so I've kept it, it can of course always be easily removed in the future of GCN folk abandon it too. - I assume constants OFFLOAD_TARGET_TYPE_HSA and GOMP_DEVICE_HSA need to stay indefinitely too just so that no future offload target picks that number. - I have kept dg-require-effective-target offload_device_nonshared_as requirement of thests which have it. It is quite probable I missed some small HSA artifacts but those should be easy to remove later as we find them. include/ChangeLog: 2020-07-24 Martin Jambor <mjambor@suse.cz> * gomp-constants.h (GOMP_VERSION_HSA): Remove. gcc/ChangeLog: 2020-07-24 Martin Jambor <mjambor@suse.cz> * hsa-brig-format.h: Moved to brig/brigfrontend. * hsa-brig.c: Removed. * hsa-builtins.def: Likewise. * hsa-common.c: Likewise. * hsa-common.h: Likewise. * hsa-dump.c: Likewise. * hsa-gen.c: Likewise. * hsa-regalloc.c: Likewise. * ipa-hsa.c: Likewise. * omp-grid.c: Likewise. * omp-grid.h: Likewise. * Makefile.in (BUILTINS_DEF): Remove hsa-builtins.def. 2020-07-15openmp: Fix up loop-21.cJakub Jelinek1-12/+12
I've missed +FAIL: libgomp.c/loop-21.c execution test during testing of the recent patch. The problem is that while for the number of iterations computation it doesn't matter if we compute min_inner_iterations as (m2 * first + n2 + (adjusted step) + m1 * first + n1) / step or (m2 * last + n2 + (adjusted step) + m1 * last + n1) / step provided that in the second case we use as factor (m1 - m2) * ostep / step rather than (m2 - m1) * ostep / step, for the logical to actual iterator values computation it does matter and in my hand written C implementations of all the cases (outer vs. inner loop with increasing vs. decreasing iterator) I'm using the same computation and it worked well for all the pseudo-random iterators testing it was doing. It also means min_inner_iterations is misnamed, because it is not really minimum number of inner iterations, whether the first or last outer iteration results in the smaller or larger value of this can be (sometimes) only determined at runtime. So this patch also renames it to first_inner_iterations. 2020-07-15 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR libgomp/96198 * omp-general.h (struct omp_for_data): Rename min_inner_iterations member to first_inner_iterations, adjust comment. * omp-general.c (omp_extract_for_data): Adjust for the above change. Always use n1first and n2first to compute it, rather than depending on single_nonrect_cond_code. Similarly, always compute factor as (m2 - m1) * outer_step / inner_step rather than sometimes m1 - m2 depending on single_nonrect_cond_code. * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_for_init_vars): Rename min_inner_iterations to first_inner_iterations and min_inner_iterationsd to first_inner_iterationsd.
2020-07-14openmp: Adjust outer bounds of non-rect loopsJakub Jelinek1-1/+2
In loops like: #pragma omp parallel for collapse(2) for (i = -4; i < 8; i++) for (j = 3 * i; j > 2 * i; j--) for some outer loop iterations there are no inner loop iterations at all, the condition is false. In order to use Summæ Potestate to count number of iterations or to transform the logical iteration number to actual iterator values using quadratic non-equation root discovery the outer iterator range needs to be adjusted, such that the inner loop has at least one iteration for each of the outer loop iterator value in the reduced range. Sometimes this adjustment is done at the start of the range, at other times at the end. This patch implements it during the compile time number of loop computation (if all expressions are compile time constants). 2020-07-14 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> * omp-general.h (struct omp_for_data): Add adjn1 member. * omp-general.c (omp_extract_for_data): For non-rect loop, punt on count computing if n1, n2 or step are not INTEGER_CST earlier. 2020-07-09openmp: Optimize triangular loop logical iterator to actual iterators ↵Jakub Jelinek1-6/+205
computation using search for quadratic equation root(s) This patch implements the optimized logical to actual iterators computation for triangular loops. I have a rough implementation using integers, but this one uses floating point. There is a small problem that -fopenmp programs aren't linked with -lm, so it does it only if the hw has sqrt optab (and uses ifn rather than __builtin_sqrt because it obviously doesn't need errno handling etc.). Do you think it is ok this way, or should I use the integral computation using inlined isqrt (we have inequation of the form start >= x * t10 + t11 * (((x - 1) * x) / 2) where t10 and t11 are signed long long values and start unsigned long long, and the division by 2 actually is a problem for accuracy in some cases, so if we do it in integral, we need to do actually long long t12 = 2 * t10 - t11; unsigned long long t13 = t12 * t12 + start * 8 * t11; unsigned long long isqrt_ = isqrtull (t13); long long x = (((long long) isqrt_ - t12) / t11) >> 1; with careful overflow checking on all the computations before isqrtull (and on overflows use the fallback implementation). 2020-07-09 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> * omp-general.h (struct omp_for_data): Add min_inner_iterations and factor members. * omp-general.c (omp_extract_for_data): Initialize them and remember them in OMP_CLAUSE_COLLAPSE_COUNT if needed and restore from there. * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_for_init_counts): Fix up computation of counts[fd->last_nonrect] if fd->loop.n2 is INTEGER_CST. 2020-07-02openmp: Diagnose non-rectangular loops with invalid stepsJakub Jelinek1-4/+44
THe OpenMP 5 standard requires that if some loop in OpenMP loop nest refers to some outer loop's iterator variable, then the subtraction of the multiplication factors for the outer iterator multiplied by the outer increment modulo the inner increment is 0. For loops with non-constants in any of these we can't diagnose it, it would be a task for something like -fsanitize=openmp, but if all these are constant, we can diagnose it. 2020-07-02 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> * omp-expand.c (expand_omp_for): Diagnose non-rectangular loops with invalid steps - ((m2 - m1) * incr_outer) % incr must be 0 in valid OpenMP non-rectangular loops. 2020-06-16openmp: Initial part of OpenMP 5.0 non-rectangular loop supportJakub Jelinek1-3/+14
OpenMP 5.0 adds support for non-rectangular loop collapses, e.g. triangular and more complex. This patch deals just with the diagnostics so that they aren't rejected immediately as before. As the spec generally requires as before that the iteration variable initializer and bound in the comparison as invariant vs. the outermost loop, and just add some exceptional forms that can violate that, we need to avoid folding the expressions until we can detect them and in order to avoid folding it later on, I chose to use a TREE_VEC in those expressions to hold the var_outer * expr1 + expr2 triplet, the patch adds pretty-printing of that, gimplification etc. and just sorry_at during omp expansion for now. The next step will be to implement the different cases of that one by one. 2020-06-16 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> gcc/ * tree.h (OMP_FOR_NON_RECTANGULAR): Define. * gimplify.c (gimplify_omp_for): Diagnose schedule, ordered or dist_schedule clause on non-rectangular loops. 2019-11-12Add OpenACC 2.6 `serial' construct supportMaciej W. Rozycki1-7/+36
The `serial' construct (cf. section 2.5.3 of the OpenACC 2.6 standard) is equivalent to a `parallel' construct with clauses `num_gangs(1) num_workers(1) vector_length(1)' implied. These clauses are therefore not supported with the `serial' construct. All the remaining clauses accepted with `parallel' are also accepted with `serial'. The `serial' construct is implemented like `parallel', except for hardcoding dimensions rather than taking them from the relevant clauses, in `expand_omp_target'. Separate codes are used to denote the `serial' construct throughout the middle end, even though the mapping of `serial' to an equivalent `parallel' construct could have been done in the individual language frontends. In particular, this allows to distinguish between compute constructs in warnings, error messages, dumps etc. 2019-11-12 Maciej W.
