The changes in r15-4697-g4727bfb37701 omit a menu entry which causes a
bootstrap fail when Frotran is included for at least makeinfo 6.7.
Fixed thus.
gcc/fortran/ChangeLog:
* intrinsic.texi: Add menu item for UINT.
Signed-off-by: Iain Sandoe <iain@sandoe.co.uk>

gcc/fortran/ChangeLog:
* gfortran.texi: Correct reference to make clear that UNSIGNED
will not be part of F202Y.
Other clarifications.
Extend table of intrinsics, add links.
* intrinsic.texi: Add descriptions for UNSIGNED arguments.
* invoke.texi: Add anchor for -funsigned.

PR fortran/79685
* decl.cc (match_data_constant): Find the symtree instead of
the symbol so the use renamed symbols are found. Pass this and
the derived type to gfc_match_structure_constructor.
* match.h: Update prototype of gfc_match_structure_contructor.
* primary.cc (gfc_match_structure_constructor): Remove call to
gfc_get_ha_sym_tree and use caller supplied symtree instead.
gcc/testsuite/
PR fortran/79685
* gfortran.dg/use_rename_13.f90: New test.

I've tried to build stage3 with
-Wleading-whitespace=blanks -Wtrailing-whitespace=blank -Wno-error=leading-whitespace=blanks -Wno-error=trailing-whitespace=blank
added to STRICT_WARN and that expectably resulted in about
2744 unique trailing whitespace warnings and 124837 leading whitespace
warnings when excluding *.md files (which obviously is in big part a
generator issue). Others from that are generator related, I think those
need to be solved later.
The following patch just fixes up the easy case (trailing whitespace),
which could be easily automated:
for i in `find . -name \*.h -o -name \*.cc -o -name \*.c | xargs grep -l '[ ]$' | grep -v testsuite/`; do sed -i -e 's/[ ]*$//' $i; done
I've excluded files which I knew are obviously generated or go FE.
Is there anything else we'd want to avoid the changes?
Due to patch size, I've split it between gcc/ part (this patch)
and rest (include/, libiberty/, libgcc/, libcpp/, libstdc++-v3/).

My forthcoming patches for PR other/116613 make much more use of
cloning of pretty_printers than before, so it makes sense as a
preliminary patch for the result of pretty_printer::clone to be a
std::unique_ptr, rather than add more manual uses of "delete".
On doing so, I noticed various other places where naked new/delete is
used for run-time configuration of diagnostics:
* the output format (text vs SARIF)
* client data hooks
* the option manager
* the URLifier
Hence this patch also makes use of std::unique_ptr and ::make_unique for
managing such client policy classes, and also for diagnostic_buffer's
per-format implementations.
Unfortunately we can't directly include <memory> in our internal headers
but instead any of our TUs that make use of std::unique_ptr must #define
INCLUDE_MEMORY before including system.h.
Hence the bulk of this patch is taken up with adding a define of
INCLUDE_MEMORY to hundreds of source files: everything that includes
diagnostic.h or pretty-print.h (and thus anything transitively such as
includers of lto-wrapper.h, c-tree.h, cp-tree.h and rtl-ssa.h).
Thanks to Gaius Mulley for the parts of the patch that regenerated the
m2 files.

PR fortran/105916 reports stray diagnostics appearing in JSON and SARIF
output from gfortran.
In order to handle various awkard parsing issues, the Fortran frontend
implements buffering of diagnostics, so that diagnostics reported to
global_dc can be either:
(a) immediately issued, or
(b) speculatively reported to global_dc, and stored in a buffer, to
either be issued later or discarded.
This buffering code in gcc/fortran/error.cc directly manipulates
implementation details of the diagnostic_context such as the
pretty_printer's buffer, and the counts of how many diagnostics have
been issued. The issue is that this manipulation of pretty_printer's
buffer doesn't work for formats such as JSON and SARIF where diagnostics
are handled in a different way (such as by accumulating json::object
instances in an array).
This patch moves responsibility for such buffering of diagnostics from
fortran's error.cc to the diagnostic subsystem. It introduces a new
class diagnostic_buffer representing a particular buffer of diagnostics
that have been reported but not yet issued. Each diagnostic output
format implements buffering in a different way, and so there is a
new class hierarchy, diagnostic_per_format_buffer, representing the
various format-specific ways that buffering is to be implemented. This
is hidden as an implementation detail of diagnostic_buffer.
The patch also updates how diagnostics of each kind (e.g. warnings vs
errors) are counted, so that if buffering is enabled, the count is
incremented within the buffer, and the counts in the diagnostic_context
are only updated if and when the buffer is flushed; checking for
max_errors is similarly updated to support both buffered and unbuffered
cases.
For ease of debugging, the patch extends the "dump" functions within the
diagnostics subsystem, so that e.g. global_dc->dump () now prints the
buffering status, e.g.:
(gdb) call global_dc->dump()

which shows that no diagnostics have been issued yet, but the active
diagnostic_buffer has a single error buffered within it, in SARIF form.
Similarly, it's possible to use "dump" on a diagnostic_buffer to directly
query its contents; here's the same example, this time with the text
output format:

GCC's diagnostic engine gained a while ago support for ranges, i.e. instead
of pointing at a single character '^', it can also have a '~~~~^~~~~~' range.
This patch adds support for this and adds 9 users for it, which covers the
most common cases. A single '^' can be still useful. Some location data in
gfortran is rather bad - often the matching pattern includes whitespace such
that the before or after location points to the beginning/end of the
whitespace, which can be far of especially when comments and/or continuation
lines are involed. Otherwise, often a '^' still sufficient, albeit wrong
location data only becomes obvious once starting to use ranges.
The 'locus' is extended to support two ways to store the data; hereby
gfc_current_locus always contains the old format (at least during parsing)
and gfc_current_locus shall not be used in trans*.cc. The latter permits
a nice cleanup to just use input_location. Otherwise, the new format is
only used when switching to ranges.
The only reason to convert from location_t to locus occurs in trans*.cc
for the gfc_error (etc.) diagnostic and for gfc_trans_runtime_check; there
are 5 currently 5 such cases. For gfc_* diagnostic, we could think of
another letter besides %L or a modifier like '%lL', if deemed useful.
In any case, the new format is just:
locus->u.location = linemap_position_for_loc_and_offset (line_table,
loc->u.lb->location, loc->nextc - loc->u.lb->line);
locus->nextc = (gfc_char_t *) -1; /* Marker for new format. */
i.e. using the existing location_t location in in the linebuffer (which
points to column 0) and add as offset the actually used column number.
As location_t handles ranges, we just use it also to store them via:
location = make_location (caret, begin, end)
There are a few convenience macros/functions but that's all.
Alongside, a few minor fixes were done: linemap_location_before_p replaces
a line-number based comparison, which does not handle multiple statements
in the same line that ';' allows for.

__builtin_is_initial_device
It turned out that 'if (omp_is_initial_device() .eqv. true)' gave an ICE
due to comparing 'int' with 'logical(4)'. When digging deeper, it also
turned out that when the procedure pointer is needed, the builtin cannot
be used, either. (Follow up to r15-2799-gf1bfba3a9b3f31 )
Extend the code to also use the builtin acc_on_device with OpenACC,
which was previously only used in C/C++. Additionally, fix folding

This commit reduces code duplication by moving gfc_get_location
from trans.cc to error.cc. The gcc_assert is now used more often
and reveald a bug in gfc_match_array_constructor where the union

was missing.

This patch creates an unsigned "standard" for the
gfc_option.allow_std field.
One of the main reason why people want UNSIGNED for Fortran is
interfacing for C.
This is a preparation for further work on the ISO_C_BINDING constants.
That, we do via iso-c-binding.def , whose last field is a standard
for the constant to be defined for the standard in question, which is
then checked. I could try and invent a different method for this,
but I'd rather not.

For the 'allocate' directive, remove the sorry for static variables and
just keep using normal memory, but honor the requested alignment and set
a DECL_ATTRIBUTE in case a target may want to make use of this later on.
The documentation is updated accordingly.
The C diagnostic to check for predefined allocators (req. for static vars)
failed to accept GCC's ompx_gnu_... allocator, now fixed. (Fortran was
already okay; but both now use new common #defined value for checking.)
And while Fortran common block variables are still rejected, the check
has been improved as before the sorry diagnostic did not work for
common blocks in modules.
Finally, for 'allocate' clause on the target/task/taskloop directives,
there is now a warning for omp_thread_mem_alloc (i.e. predefined allocator
with access = thread), which is undefined behavior according to the
OpenMP specification.
And, last, testing showed that var decl + static_assert sets TREE_USED
but does not produce a statement list in C, which did run into an assert
in gimplify. This special case is now also handled.
gcc/c/ChangeLog:
* c-parser.cc (c_parser_omp_allocate): Set alignment for alignof;
accept static variables and fix predef allocator check.

As work towards supporting multiple diagnostic outputs (where each
output has its own pretty_printer), avoid passing around
diagnostic_context to the various printing routines, so that we
can be more explicit about which pretty_printer is in use.
Introduce a set of "policy" classes that capture the parts of
diagnostic_context that are needed, and use these rather than
diagnostic_context *. Pass around pretty_printer & rather than
taking value from context. Split out the pretty_printer-using code
from class layout into a new class layout_printer, separating the
responsibilities of determining layout when quoting source versus
actually printing the source.
No functional change intended.

Fortran option -M used to be an alias for -J. After some deprecation time,
it was reused for another purpose at revision
r0-100725-gd8ddea4044ee8212d5fe305e8e2a547700cd7b8f.
That revision removed the documentation parts of -J mentioning -M, but left
a reference to -M in the index.
This change removes the remaining reference.
gcc/fortran/ChangeLog:
* invoke.texi (-M): Remove index reference to removed documentation.

The documentation of gfortran options uses @code wrappings for arguments
to @opindex. This is superfluous, as 'op' index is a texinfo 'code' index,
that is it already implicitly formats its arguments as if in a @code block.
The superfluous wrapping has the effect of creating a nested
<code class="..."> tag inside the regular automatic <code> tag, in the
option index HTML page, preventing the recognition of the corresponding
option by the option URL generation script.
This change removes those superfluous @code wrappings. Additionally,
variables appearing as separate argument in index are removed, permitting
a few more URL recognition. Finally, the URL files are regenerated with the
new URLs recognized on the updated HTML files.
By the way, a spurious 'option' is removed from the label of the std= option
in the index, without any effect on URL recognition.

Older versions of the OpenMP specification were not clear about what counted
as device usage. Newer (like TR13) are rather clear. Hence, this commit adds
GCC's target-used flag also when a 'declare target' or an 'interop' are
encountered. (The latter only to Fortran as C/C++ parsing support is still
missing.) TR13 also lists 'dispatch' as target-used construct (as it has the
device clause) and 'device_safesync' as clause with global requirement
property, but both are not yet supported in GCC.

* c-parser.cc (c_parser_omp_declare_target): Set target-used bit
in omp_requires_mask.

omp requires requirement and declare_variant usage.
* gfortran.dg/gomp/requires-8.f90: Likewise.
