2019-08-28Stated standards in documentationMark Eggleston1-168/+171
Correct the stated standards in documentation and for intrinsics and specific intrinsics. In C_SIZEOF the printed value is T not .TRUE.. In IPARITY example wrap BOZ constants in calls to INT. From-SVN: r274988
2019-08-23PDF LayoutMark Eggleston1-239/+530
Prevent lines overlapping the right hand margin, this occurred for references in the "See also:" section, it is prevented by placing references on their own lines. Two example programs overlapped the right hand margin: fixed by adjusting the position and of the comments. Some tables had overlapping colums: the column widths were adjusted accordingly. From-SVN: r274857
2019-08-23Intrinsic documentation layout changes.Mark Eggleston1-26/+16
Documentation of all intrinsics now have their sections in a consistent order. Empty sections have been removed. Stray words have been removed. Text in a wrong section has been moved. A missing standard was inserted. From-SVN: r274848
2019-08-23ABS Documentation fixMark Eggleston1-2/+2
The specific intrinsics ZABS and CDABS return REAL(8) not COMPLEX(8). From-SVN: r274847
2019-08-20Intrinsic documentation changes.Mark Eggleston1-7/+13
Add notes to DIM, MOD and MODULE stating that as a GNU extension, integers of different kinds are allowed as arguments and that the return value has the larger kind. From-SVN: r274744
2019-08-13PR fortran/91414: Improved PRNGJanne Blomqvist1-5/+5
Update the PRNG from xorshift1024* to xoshiro256** by the same author. For details see http://prng.di.unimi.it/ and the paper at https://arxiv.org/abs/1805.01407 Also the seeding is slightly improved, by reading only 8 bytes from the operating system and using the simple splitmix64 PRNG to fill in the rest of the PRNG state (as recommended by the xoshiro author), instead of reading the entire state from the OS. Regtested on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, Ok for trunk? gcc/fortran/ChangeLog: 2019-08-13 Janne Blomqvist <jb@gcc.gnu.org> PR fortran/91414 * check.c (gfc_check_random_seed): Reduce seed_size. * intrinsic.texi (RANDOM_NUMBER): Update to match new PRNG. gcc/testsuite/ChangeLog: 2019-08-13 Janne Blomqvist <jb@gcc.gnu.org> PR fortran/91414 * gfortran.dg/random_seed_1.f90: Update to match new seed size. libgfortran/ChangeLog: 2019-08-13 Janne Blomqvist <jb@gcc.gnu.org> PR fortran/91414 * intrinsics/random.c (prng_state): Update state struct. (init_rand_state): Use getosrandom only to get 8 bytes, splitmix64 to fill rest of state. (random_r4): Update to new function and struct names. (random_r8): Likewise. (random_r10): Likewise. 2019-03-25[doc] Fix typos in MINLOC, MAXLOC documentationKyrylo Tkachov1-4/+4
I think there's a typo in the documentation of the MINLOC and MAXLOC intrinsics. It implies that when the BACK argument is true it returns the first occurrence of the min/max value, but my understanding is that it should return the last occurrence. This patch fixes the documentation. * intrinsic.texi (MINLOC): Fix typo in BACK argument documentation. (MAXLOC): Likewise. From-SVN: r269906
