2021-12-01darwin, d: Support outfile substitution for libphobosIain Buclaw1-7/+11
In the gdc driver, this takes the previous fix for the Darwin D bootstrap, and extends it to the -static-libphobos option as well. Rather than pushing the -static-libphobos option back onto the command line, the setting of SKIPOPT is instead conditionally removed. The same change has been repeated for -static-libstdc++ so there is now no need to call generate_option to re-add it. In the gcc driver, -static-libphobos has been added as a common option, validated, and a new outfile substition added to config/darwin.h to correctly replace -lgphobos with libgphobos.a. gcc/ChangeLog: * common.opt (static-libphobos): Add option. * config/darwin.h (LINK_SPEC): Substitute -lgphobos with libgphobos.a when linking statically. * gcc.c (driver_handle_option): Set -static-libphobos as always valid. gcc/d/ChangeLog: * d-spec.cc (lang_specific_driver): Set SKIPOPT on -static-libstdc++ and -static-libphobos only when target supports LD_STATIC_DYNAMIC. 2021-10-05Darwin, D: Fix bootstrap when target does not support -Bstatic/dynamic.Iain Sandoe1-0/+6
This fixes a bootstrap fail because saw_static_libcxx was unused for targets without support for -Bstatic/dynamic. The fix applied pushes the -static-libstdc++ back onto the command line, which allows a target to substitute a static version of the c++ standard library using specs. 2020-04-24d: Fix order of precedence for -defaultlib and -debuglibIain Buclaw1-48/+36
The order of precedence used by the upstream reference compiler for determining what library to link against is: - No library if -nophoboslib or -fno-druntime was seen. - The library passed to -debuglib if -g was also seen. - The library passed to -defaultlib - The in-tree libgphobos library. This aligns the D language driver to follow the same rules. gcc/d/ChangeLog: * d-spec.cc (need_phobos): Remove. (lang_specific_driver): Replace need_phobos with phobos_library. Reorder -debuglib and -defaultlib to have precedence over libphobos. (lang_specific_pre_link): Remove test for need_phobos.
2020-04-10libphobos: Use libdruntime as a convenience library for libphobos.Iain Buclaw1-13/+1
As a prerequesite for PR94304, it becomes easier to manage selectively compiling sublibraries when there's only one library to link to. So a druntime convenience library is built to be part of phobos, however separate druntime library is still built and installed, to allow linking only to the core runtime explicitly, rather than pulling in the entire standard library with it. The gdc driver no longer generates an '-lgdruntime' option, and the inclusion of the libdruntime library path has been removed from the testsuite. gcc/d/ChangeLog: * d-spec.cc (LIBDRUNTIME): Remove.
