Adds two new external authors to etc/update-copyright.py to cover bfd/ax_tls.m4, and adds gprofng to dirs handled automatically, then updates copyright messages as follows: 1) Update cgen/utils.scm emitted copyrights. 2) Run "etc/update-copyright.py --this-year" with an extra external author I haven't committed, 'Kalray SA.', to cover gas testsuite files (which should have their copyright message removed). 3) Build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes. 4) Check out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

The newer update-copyright.py fixes file encoding too, removing cr/lf on binutils/bfdtest2.c and ld/testsuite/ld-cygwin/exe-export.exp, and embedded cr in binutils/testsuite/binutils-all/ar.exp string match.

The result of running etc/update-copyright.py --this-year, fixing all the files whose mode is changed by the script, plus a build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes, then checking out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently. The copy of cgen was with commit d1dd5fcc38ead reverted as that commit breaks building of bfp opcodes files.

Using an input file objalloc memory for anything that isn't created when opening the bfd is not a good idea. The problem is that this memory can disappear if bfd_free_cached_info is called or when bfd closes files in order to keep the number of open files reasonable. bfd/ * xcofflink.c (xcoff_get_archive_info): Allocate xcoff_archive_info on the output bfd objalloc memory. ld/ * testsuite/ld-scripts/sysroot-prefix.exp (single_sysroot_prefix_test): Log $scriptname.

Many of the ld tests are not run for cross builds, in some cases because the test needs to run a newly linked executable, and in others simply because it was easier to write the test for native only. Even when a test needs to run, it's good to compile and link to exercise the linker. So that's what this patch does. I've also rid us of the old ld_link procedure with all the HOSTING_CRT0 etc. setup. It's much simpler to just link with $CC. This does mean that a cross build with cross-compiler installed but no cross C-library will give lots of failures. If that turns out to be too annoying, I guess we can write a tcl procedure to detect it and not run all the extra tests. * Makefile.am (bootstrap): Delete rule. (ld-partial, ld1, ld1-full, ld2, ld3): Likewise. (HOSTING_CRT0, HOSTING_SCRT0): Don't define. * ld-scripts/sysroot-prefix.exp: Log $ld_sysroot. Handle sysroot == "/" as a separate sysroot-configuration with separable test-types. (sysroot_prefix_tests): Include all existing sysroot tests in sysroot == "/" tests except exclude those where a --sysroot option is not specified. * lib/ld-lib.exp (check_sysroot_available): Rewrite to use --print-sysroot instead of relying on error code from using --sysroot=... Also, set $ld_sysroot. The reason we exclude not just the failing "full-path =-prefixed without" but also the passing "plain =-prefixed without but -Lpath" for sysroot == "/" is that for the latter to succeed, we have to make assumptions about the system not having a /sysroot directory or assumptions about its contents etc. When passing --enable-targets=all --enable-64-bit-bfd (the latter not required for a "64-bit-host" of course) the ld --help output got too much to handle for poor tcl (or maybe dejagnu is to blame) and remote_exec exited with an error, so the configuration being tested was mishandled as being a sysroot-less configuration. Using --version instead of --help would work too, but the new --print-sysroot option calls for nominal coverage, so why not use that instead.
