2019-07-09Rename common to gdbsupportTom Tromey1-117/+0
This is the next patch in the ongoing series to move gdbsever to the top level. This patch just renames the "common" directory. The idea is to do this move in two parts: first rename the directory (this patch), then move the directory to the top. This approach makes the patches a bit more tractable. I chose the name "gdbsupport" for the directory. However, as this patch was largely written by sed, we could pick a new name without too much difficulty. This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files.

gdb's (or gdbserver's) own signal handling should not interfere with the signal dispositions their spawned children inherit. However, it currently does. For example, some paths in gdb cause SIGPIPE to be set to SIG_IGN, and as consequence, the child starts with SIGPIPE to set to SIG_IGN too, even though gdb was started with SIGPIPE set to SIG_DFL. This is because the exec family of functions does not reset the signal disposition of signals that are set to SIG_IGN: http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/7908799/xsh/execve.html Signals set to the default action (SIG_DFL) in the calling process image are set to the default action in the new process image. Signals set to be ignored (SIG_IGN) by the calling process image are set to be ignored by the new process image. Signals set to be caught by the calling process image are set to the default action in the new process image (see <signal.h>). And neither does it reset signal masks or flags.
