2018-02-02ui: fix mixup between qnum and qcode in SDL1 key handlingDaniel P. Berrangé1-1/+8
The previous commit: commit 2ec78706d188df7d3dab43d07b19b05ef7800a44 Author: Daniel P. Berrange <berrange@redhat.com> Date: Wed Jan 17 16:47:15 2018 +0000 ui: convert GTK and SDL1 frontends to keycodemapdb changed the x_keymap.c keymap so that its target was qcodes instead of qnums. It updated the GTK frontend to take account of this change, but forgot to update the SDL1 frontend. Thus the SDL frontend was getting qcodes but dispatching them as if they were qnums. IOW, keyboard input was completely hosed with SDL1. Since the keyboard layout tables are still all based on qnums, it is easier to just keep SDL1 using qnums as it will be deleted in a few releases time. 2018-01-25ui: deprecate use of SDL 1.2 in favour of 2.0 seriesDaniel P. Berrange1-0/+3
The SDL 2.0 release was made in Aug, 2013: https://www.libsdl.org/release/ That will soon be 4 + 1/2 years ago, which is enough time to consider the 2.0 series widely supported. Thus we deprecate the SDL 1.2 support, which will allow us to delete it in the last release of 2018. By this time, SDL 2.0 will be more than 5 years old. Signed-off-by: Daniel P. 2017-05-23shutdown: Add source information to SHUTDOWN and RESETEric Blake1-1/+1
Time to wire up all the call sites that request a shutdown or reset to use the enum added in the previous patch. It would have been less churn to keep the common case with no arguments as meaning guest-triggered, and only modified the host-triggered code paths, via a wrapper function, but then we'd still have to audit that I didn't miss any host-triggered spots; changing the signature forces us to double-check that I correctly categorized all callers. Since command line options can change whether a guest reset request causes an actual reset vs. a shutdown, it's easy to also add the information to reset requests. 2017-02-27ui: Use XkbGetMap and XkbGetNames instead of XkbGetKeyboardDaniel P. Berrange1-4/+6
XkbGetKeyboard does not work in XWayland and even on non-Wayland X11 servers its use is discouraged: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89240 This resolves a problem whereby QEMU prints "could not lookup keycode name" on startup when running under XWayland. Keymap handling is however still broken after this commit, since Xwayland is reporting a keymap we can't handle "unknown keycodes `(unnamed)', please report to qemu-devel@nongnu.org" NB, native Wayland support (which is the default under GTK3) is not affected - only XWayland (which can be requested with GDK_BACKEND on GTK3, and is the only option for GTK2). 2015-12-17qapi: Change munging of CamelCase enum valuesEric Blake1-2/+2
When munging enum values, the fact that we were passing the entire prefix + value through camel_to_upper() meant that enum values spelled with CamelCase could be turned into CAMEL_CASE. However, this provides a potential collision (both OneTwo and One-Two would munge into ONE_TWO) for enum types, when the same two names are valid side-by-side as QAPI member names. By changing the generation of enum constants to always be prefix + '_' + c_name(value, False).upper(), and ensuring that there are no case collisions (in the next patches), we no longer have to worry about names that would be distinct as QAPI members but collide as variant tag names, without having to think about what munging the heuristics in camel_to_upper() will actually perform on an enum value. Making the change will affect enums that did not follow coding conventions, using 'CamelCase' rather than desired 'lower-case'. Thankfully, there are only two culprits: InputButton and ErrorClass. We already tweaked ErrorClass to make it an alias of QapiErrorClass, where only the alias needs changing rather than the whole tree. So the bulk of this change is modifying INPUT_BUTTON_WHEEL_UP to the new INPUT_BUTTON_WHEELUP (and likewise for WHEELDOWN). That part of this commit may later need reverting if we rename the enum constants from 'WheelUp' to 'wheel-up' as part of moving x-input-send-event to a stable interface; but at least we have documentation bread crumbs in place to remind us (commit 513e7cd), and it matches the fact that SDL constants are also spelled SDL_BUTTON_WHEELUP. 2015-12-17qapi: Don't let implicit enum MAX member collideEric Blake1-1/+1
Now that we guarantee the user doesn't have any enum values beginning with a single underscore, we can use that for our own purposes. Renaming ENUM_MAX to ENUM__MAX makes it obvious that the sentinel is generated. This patch was mostly generated by applying a temporary patch: |diff --git a/scripts/qapi.py b/scripts/qapi.py |index e6d014b..b862ec9 100644 |--- a/scripts/qapi.py |+++ b/scripts/qapi.py |@@ -1570,6 +1570,7 @@ const char *const %(c_name)s_lookup[] = { | max_index = c_enum_const(name, 'MAX', prefix) | ret += mcgen(''' | [%(max_index)s] = NULL, |+// %(max_index)s | }; | ''', | max_index=max_index) then running: $ cat qapi-{types,event}.c tests/test-qapi-types.c | sed -n 's,^// \(.*\)MAX,s|\1MAX|\1_MAX|g,p' > list $ git grep -l _MAX | xargs sed -i -f list The only things not generated are the changes in scripts/qapi.py. g_new(T, n) is neater than g_malloc(sizeof(T) * n). It's also safer, for two reasons. One, it catches multiplication overflowing size_t. 2014-09-05console: stop using PixelFormatGerd Hoffmann1-2/+3
With this patch the qemu console core stops using PixelFormat and pixman format codes side-by-side, pixman format code is the primary way to specify the DisplaySurface format: * DisplaySurface stops carrying a PixelFormat field. * qemu_create_displaysurface_from() expects a pixman format now. Functions to convert PixelFormat to pixman_format_code_t (and back) exist for those who still use PixelFormat. 2014-03-05ui/sdl2 : initial port to SDL 2.0 (v2.0)Dave Airlie1-0/+3
I've ported the SDL1.2 code over, and rewritten it to use the SDL2 interface. The biggest changes were in the input handling, where SDL2 has done a major overhaul, and I've had to include a generated translation file to get from SDL2 codes back to qemu compatible ones. I'm still not sure how the keyboard layout code works in qemu, so there may be further work if someone can point me a test case that works with SDL1.2 and doesn't with SDL2. Some SDL env vars we used to set are no longer used by SDL2, Windows, OSX support is untested, I don't think we can link to SDL1.2 and SDL2 at the same time, so I felt using --with-sdlabi=2.0 to select the new code should be fine, like how gtk does it. v1.1: fix keys in text console v1.2: fix shutdown, cleanups a bit of code, support ARGB cursor v2.0: merge the SDL multihead patch into this, g_new the number of consoles needed, wrap DCL inside per-console structure.
