2022-03-29iotests: update test owner contact informationJohn Snow1-1/+1
Quite a few of these tests have stale contact information. This patch updates the stale ones that I happen to be aware of at the moment. 2021-01-20iotests: define group in each iotestVladimir Sementsov-Ogievskiy1-0/+1
We are going to drop group file. Define group in tests as a preparatory step. The patch is generated by cd tests/qemu-iotests grep '^[0-9]\{3\} ' group | while read line; do file=$(awk '{print $1}' <<< "$line"); groups=$(sed -e 's/^... //' <<< "$line"); awk "NR==2{print \"# group: $groups\"}1" $file > tmp; cat tmp > $file; done Signed-off-by: Vladimir Sementsov-Ogievskiy <vsementsov@virtuozzo.com> Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20210116134424.82867-7-vsementsov@virtuozzo.com> Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com>
2020-12-11iotests: Enable fuse for many testsMax Reitz1-1/+1
Many tests (that do not support generic protocols) can run just fine with FUSE-exported images, so allow them to. Note that this is no attempt at being definitely complete. There are some tests that might be modified to run on FUSE, but this patch still skips them. This patch only tries to pick the rather low-hanging fruits. Note that 221 and 250 only pass when .lseek is correctly implemented, which is only possible with a libfuse that is 3.8 or newer. 2020-10-02block/export: Add BLOCK_EXPORT_DELETED eventKevin Wolf1-1/+8
Clients may want to know when an export has finally disappeard (block-export-del returns earlier than that in the general case), so add a QAPI event for it. 2019-03-08qemu-iotests: Improve portability by searching bash in the $PATHPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé1-1/+1
Bash is not always installed as /bin/bash. In particular on OpenBSD, the package installs it in /usr/local/bin. Use the 'env' shebang to search bash in the $PATH. Patch created mechanically by running: $ git grep -lE '#! ?/bin/bash' -- tests/qemu-iotests \ | while read f; do \ sed -i 's|^#!.\?/bin/bash$|#!/usr/bin/env bash|' $f; \ done Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2018-11-19qemu-iotests: remove unused variable 'here'Mao Zhongyi1-1/+0
Running git grep '\$here' tests/qemu-iotests has 0 hits, which means we are setting a variable that has no use. It appears that commit e8f8624d removed the last use. So execute the following cmd to remove all of the 'here=...' lines as dead code. sed -i '/^here=/d' $(git grep -l '^here=' tests/qemu-iotests) Cc: kwolf@redhat.com Cc: mreitz@redhat.com Cc: eblake@redhat.com Suggested-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Mao Zhongyi <maozhongyi@cmss.chinamobile.com> Message-Id: <20181024094051.4470-3-maozhongyi@cmss.chinamobile.com> Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> [eblake: touch up commit message, reorder series, rebase to master] Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com>
2017-11-09nbd-client: Refuse read-only client with BDRV_O_RDWREric Blake1-2/+2
The NBD spec says that clients should not try to write/trim to an export advertised as read-only by the server. But we failed to check that, and would allow the block layer to use NBD with BDRV_O_RDWR even when the server is read-only, which meant we were depending on the server sending a proper EPERM failure for various commands, and also exposes a leaky abstraction: using qemu-io in read-write mode would succeed on 'w -z 0 0' because of local short-circuiting logic, but 'w 0 0' would send a request over the wire (where it then depends on the server, and fails at least for qemu-nbd but might pass for other NBD implementations). With this patch, a client MUST request read-only mode to access a server that is doing a read-only export, or else it will get a message like: can't open device nbd://localhost:10809/foo: request for write access conflicts with read-only export It is no longer possible to even attempt writes over the wire (including the corner case of 0-length writes), because the block layer enforces the explicit read-only request; this matches the behavior of qcow2 when backed by a read-only POSIX file. Fix several iotests to comply with the new behavior (since qemu-nbd of an internal snapshot, as well as nbd-server-add over QMP, default to a read-only export, we must tell blockdev-add/qemu-io to set up a read-only client). 2017-07-11iotests: fix remainining tests to work with LUKSDaniel P. Berrange1-1/+8
The tests 033, 140, 145 and 157 were all broken when run with LUKS, since they did not correctly use the required image opts args syntax to specify the decryption secret. Further, the 120 test simply does not make sense to run with luks, as the scenario exercised is not relevant. The test 181 was broken when run with LUKS because it didn't take account of fact that $TEST_IMG was already in image opts syntax. The launch_qemu helper also didn't register the secret object providing the LUKS password. 2017-04-24qemu-iotests: _cleanup_qemu must be called on exitJeff Cody1-0/+1
For the tests that use the common.qemu functions for running a QEMU process, _cleanup_qemu must be called in the exit function. If it is not, if the qemu process aborts, then not all of the droppings are cleaned up (e.g. pidfile, fifos). This updates those tests that did not have a cleanup in qemu-iotests.
