2019-12-18qemu_log_lock/unlock now preserves the qemu_logfile handle.Robert Foley1-2/+2
qemu_log_lock() now returns a handle and qemu_log_unlock() receives a handle to unlock. This allows for changing the handle during logging and ensures the lock() and unlock() are for the same file. Also in target/tilegx/translate.c removed the qemu_log_lock()/unlock() calls (and the log("\n")), since the translator can longjmp out of the loop if it attempts to translate an instruction in an inaccessible page. 2019-08-16Clean up inclusion of sysemu/sysemu.hMarkus Armbruster1-1/+0
In my "build everything" tree, changing sysemu/sysemu.h triggers a recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). Almost a third of its inclusions are actually superfluous. Delete them. Downgrade two more to qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h, and move one from char/serial.h to char/serial.c. hw/semihosting/config.c, monitor/monitor.c, qdev-monitor.c, and stubs/semihost.c define variables declared in sysemu/sysemu.h without including it. The compiler is cool with that, but include it anyway. This doesn't reduce actual use much, as it's still included into widely included headers. The next commit will tackle that. 2019-04-18qom/cpu: Simplify how CPUClass:cpu_dump_state() printsMarkus Armbruster3-15/+14
CPUClass method dump_statistics() takes an fprintf()-like callback and a FILE * to pass to it. Most callers pass fprintf() and stderr. log_cpu_state() passes fprintf() and qemu_log_file. hmp_info_registers() passes monitor_fprintf() and the current monitor cast to FILE *. monitor_fprintf() casts it right back, and is otherwise identical to monitor_printf(). The callback gets passed around a lot, which is tiresome. The type-punning around monitor_fprintf() is ugly. Drop the callback, and call qemu_fprintf() instead. Also gets rid of the type-punning, since qemu_fprintf() takes NULL instead of the current monitor cast to FILE *. 2019-04-18target: Clean up how the dump_mmu() printMarkus Armbruster3-5/+6
The various dump_mmu() take an fprintf()-like callback and a FILE * to pass to it, and so do their helper functions. Passing around callback and argument is rather tiresome. Most dump_mmu() are called only by the target's hmp_info_tlb(). These all pass monitor_printf() cast to fprintf_function and the current monitor cast to FILE *. SPARC's dump_mmu() gets also called from target/sparc/ldst_helper.c a few times #ifdef DEBUG_MMU. These calls pass fprintf() and stdout. The type-punning is technically undefined behaviour, but works in practice. Clean up: drop the callback, and call qemu_printf() instead. The MC68040 MMU provides the size of the access that triggers the page fault. This size is set in the Special Status Word which is written in the stack frame of the access fault exception. So we need the size in m68k_cpu_unassigned_access() and m68k_cpu_handle_mmu_fault(). 2017-12-27target/*helper: don't check retaddr before calling cpu_restore_stateAlex Bennée1-5/+2
cpu_restore_state officially supports being passed an address it can't resolve the state for. As a result the checks in the helpers are superfluous and can be removed. This makes the code consistent with other users of cpu_restore_state. Of course this does nothing to address what to do if cpu_restore_state can't resolve the state but so far it seems this is handled elsewhere. The change was made with included coccinelle script. 2017-10-24tcg: Initialize cpu_env genericallyRichard Henderson1-4/+0
This is identical for each target. So, move the initialization to common code. Move the variable itself out of tcg_ctx and name it cpu_env to minimize changes within targets. This also means we can remove tcg_global_reg_new_{ptr,i32,i64}, since there are no longer global-register temps created by targets. Reviewed-by: Emilio G. 2017-10-24tcg: define tcg_init_ctx and make tcg_ctx a pointerEmilio G. Cota1-1/+1
Groundwork for supporting multiple TCG contexts. The core of this patch is this change to tcg/tcg.h: > -extern TCGContext tcg_ctx; > +extern TCGContext tcg_init_ctx; > +extern TCGContext *tcg_ctx; Note that for now we set *tcg_ctx to whatever TCGContext is passed to tcg_context_init -- in this case &tcg_init_ctx. 2017-10-24tcg: convert tb->cflags reads to tb_cflags(tb)Emilio G. Cota1-3/+3
Convert all existing readers of tb->cflags to tb_cflags, so that we use atomic_read and therefore avoid undefined behaviour in C11. Note that the remaining setters/getters of the field are protected by tb_lock, and therefore do not need conversion. Luckily all readers access the field via 'tb->cflags' (so no foo.cflags, bar->cflags in the code base), which makes the conversion easily scriptable: FILES=$(git grep 'tb->cflags' target include/exec/gen-icount.h \ accel/tcg/translator.c | cut -f1 -d':' | sort | uniq) perl -pi -e 's/([^.>])tb->cflags/$1tb_cflags(tb)/g' $FILES perl -pi -e 's/([a-z->.]*)(->|\.)tb->cflags/tb_cflags($1$2tb)/g' $FILES Then manually fixed the few errors that checkpatch reported. Compile-tested for all targets. Suggested-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> Signed-off-by: Emilio G. This should be done by all target and, since commit 53f6672bcf ("gen-icount: use tcg_ctx.tcg_env instead of cpu_env", 2017-06-30), is causing the NIOS2 target to hang. This is because the test for "should I exit to the main loop" was being done with the correct offset to the icount decrementer, but using TCG temporary 0 (the frame pointer) rather than the env pointer.
