2022-09-23ui/console: Get tab completion working again in the SDL monitor vcCal Peake1-0/+1
Define a QEMU special key constant for the tab key and add an entry for it in the qcode_to_keysym table. This allows tab completion to work again in the SDL monitor virtual console, which has been broken ever since the migration from SDL1 to SDL2. 2022-07-01ui/console: allow display device to be labeled with given idWen, Jianxian1-0/+1
The update makes it easier to find and specify devices. They can only be found by device type name without the id field, for example, devices of the same type have the same label. The update also adds a head field, which is useful for devices that support multiple heads, such as virtio-gpu. 2022-06-14ui: Deliver refresh rate via QemuUIInfoAkihiko Odaki2-2/+2
This change adds a new member, refresh_rate to QemuUIInfo in include/ui/console.h. It represents the refresh rate of the physical display backend, and it is more appropriate than GUI update interval as the refresh rate which the emulated device reports: - sdl may set GUI update interval shorter than the refresh rate of the physical display to respond to user-generated events. - sdl and vnc aggressively changes GUI update interval, but a guests is typically not designed to respond to frequent refresh rate changes, or frequent "display mode" changes in general. The frequency of refresh rate changes of the physical display backend matches better to the guest's expectation. QemuUIInfo also has other members representing "display mode", which makes it suitable for refresh rate representation. It has a throttling of update notifications, and prevents frequent changes of the display mode. 2022-04-06Replace config-time define HOST_WORDS_BIGENDIANMarc-André Lureau1-1/+1
Replace a config-time define with a compile time condition define (compatible with clang and gcc) that must be declared prior to its usage. This avoids having a global configure time define, but also prevents from bad usage, if the config header wasn't included before. This can help to make some code independent from qemu too. gcc supports __BYTE_ORDER__ from about 4.6 and clang from 3.2. 2022-03-15ui/dbus: fix texture sharingMarc-André Lureau1-0/+10
The DBus listener naively create, update and destroy textures without taking into account other listeners. The texture were shared, but texture update was unnecessarily duplicated. Teach DisplayGLCtx to do optionally shared texture handling. This is only implemented for DBus display at this point, however the same infrastructure could potentially be used for other future combinations. 2021-12-21ui: simplify gl unblock & flushMarc-André Lureau1-2/+0
GraphicHw.gl_flushed was introduced to notify the device (vhost-user-gpu) that the GL resources (the display scanout) are no longer needed. It was decoupled from QEMU own gl-blocking mechanism, but that difference isn't helping. Instead, we can reuse QEMU gl-blocking and notify virtio_gpu_gl_flushed() when unblocking (to unlock vhost-user-gpu). An extra block/unblock is added arount dpy_gl_update() so existing backends that don't block will have the flush event handled. It will also help when there are no backends associated. 2021-11-05virtio-gpu: splitting one extended mode guest fb into n-scanoutsDongwon Kim1-0/+4
When guest is running Linux/X11 with extended multiple displays mode enabled, the guest shares one scanout resource each time containing whole surface rather than sharing individual display output separately. This extended frame is properly splited and rendered on the corresponding scanout surfaces but not in case of blob-resource (zero copy). This code change lets the qemu split this one large surface data into multiple in case of blob-resource as well so that each sub frame then can be blitted properly to each scanout. v2: resizing qemu console in virtio_gpu_update_dmabuf to scanout's width and height v3: updating stub function of virtio_gpu_update_dmabuf to match the type Cc: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Cc: Vivek Kasireddy <vivek.kasireddy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Dongwon Kim <dongwon.kim@intel.com> Message-Id: <20211104065153.28897-5-dongwon.kim@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>

2021-07-26ui/gtk: add a keyboard fifo to the VTE consolesVolker Rümelin1-0/+4
Since commit 8eb13bbbac ("ui/gtk: vte: fix sending multiple characeters") it's very easy to lock up QEMU with the GTK ui. If you configure a guest with a serial device and the guest doesn't listen on this device, QEMU will lock up after entering two characters in the serial console. That's because current code uses a busy loop for the chardev write retries and the busy loop doesn't terminate in this case. To fix this problem add a fifo to the VTE consoles and use the chr_accept_input() callback function to write the remaining characters in the queue to the chardev. The fifo has a size of 4096 bytes, so one can copy and paste a fairly large URL or file path. 2021-03-04configure: Improve OpenGL dependency detectionsAkihiko Odaki2-2/+9
This has the following visible changes: - GBM is required only for OpenGL dma-buf. - X11 is explicitly required by gtk-egl. - EGL is now mandatory for the OpenGL displays. The last one needs some detailed description. Before this change, EGL was tested only for OpenGL dma-buf with the check of EGL_MESA_image_dma_buf_export. However, all of the OpenGL displays depend on EGL and EGL_MESA_image_dma_buf_export is always defined by epoxy's EGL interface. Therefore, it makes more sense to always check the presence of EGL and say the OpenGL displays are available along with OpenGL dma-buf if it is present. 2021-02-19ui/console: Remove dpy_gl_ctx_get_currentAkihiko Odaki1-1/+0
It is not used, and it is unlikely that a new use case will emerge anytime soon because the scope of OpenGL contexts are limited due to the nature of the frontend, VirGL, processing simple commands from the guest. Remove the function and ease implementing a new OpenGL backend a little. 2021-02-04display/ui: add a callback to indicate GL state is flushedMarc-André Lureau1-0/+2
Displaying rendered resources requires blocking qemu GPU to avoid extra framebuffer copies. For an external display, via Spice currently, there is a callback to block/unblock the rendering in the same thread. But with the vhost-user-gpu backend, the qemu process doesn't handle the rendering itself, and the blocking callback isn't effective. Instead, the backend must be notified when the display code is done. Fix this by adding a new GraphicHwOps callback to indicate the GL state is flushed, and we are done manipulating the shared GL resources. Call it from gtk and spice display.
