2023-07-17virtio-gpu-udmabuf: correct naming of QemuDmaBuf size propertiesDongwon Kim1-2/+2
Replace 'width' and 'height' in QemuDmaBuf with 'backing_widht' and 'backing_height' as these commonly indicate the size of the whole surface (e.g. guest's Xorg extended display). Then use 'width' and 'height' for sub region in there (e.g. guest's scanouts). 2023-06-27console/win32: allocate shareable display surfaceMarc-André Lureau1-0/+8
Introduce qemu_win32_map_alloc() and qemu_win32_map_free() to allocate shared memory mapping. The handle can be used to share the mapping with another process. Teach qemu_create_displaysurface() to allocate shared memory. Following patches will introduce other places for shared memory allocation. Other patches for -display dbus will share the memory when possible with the client, to avoid expensive memory copy between the processes. 2023-05-28ui/cursor: make width/height unsigned 16-bit integerMauro Matteo Cascella1-2/+2
Although not actually exploitable at the moment, a negative width/height could make datasize wrap around and potentially lead to buffer overflow. Since there is no reason a negative width/height is ever appropriate, modify QEMUCursor struct and cursor_alloc prototype to accept uint16_t. 2022-06-14ui: Deliver refresh rate via QemuUIInfoAkihiko Odaki1-1/+1
This change adds a new member, refresh_rate to QemuUIInfo in include/ui/console.h. It represents the refresh rate of the physical display backend, and it is more appropriate than GUI update interval as the refresh rate which the emulated device reports: - sdl may set GUI update interval shorter than the refresh rate of the physical display to respond to user-generated events. - sdl and vnc aggressively changes GUI update interval, but a guests is typically not designed to respond to frequent refresh rate changes, or frequent "display mode" changes in general. The frequency of refresh rate changes of the physical display backend matches better to the guest's expectation. QemuUIInfo also has other members representing "display mode", which makes it suitable for refresh rate representation. It has a throttling of update notifications, and prevents frequent changes of the display mode. 2021-12-21ui: simplify gl unblock & flushMarc-André Lureau1-2/+0
GraphicHw.gl_flushed was introduced to notify the device (vhost-user-gpu) that the GL resources (the display scanout) are no longer needed. It was decoupled from QEMU own gl-blocking mechanism, but that difference isn't helping. Instead, we can reuse QEMU gl-blocking and notify virtio_gpu_gl_flushed() when unblocking (to unlock vhost-user-gpu). An extra block/unblock is added arount dpy_gl_update() so existing backends that don't block will have the flush event handled. It will also help when there are no backends associated. 2021-11-05virtio-gpu: splitting one extended mode guest fb into n-scanoutsDongwon Kim1-0/+4
When guest is running Linux/X11 with extended multiple displays mode enabled, the guest shares one scanout resource each time containing whole surface rather than sharing individual display output separately. This extended frame is properly splited and rendered on the corresponding scanout surfaces but not in case of blob-resource (zero copy). This code change lets the qemu split this one large surface data into multiple in case of blob-resource as well so that each sub frame then can be blitted properly to each scanout. v2: resizing qemu console in virtio_gpu_update_dmabuf to scanout's width and height v3: updating stub function of virtio_gpu_update_dmabuf to match the type Cc: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Cc: Vivek Kasireddy <vivek.kasireddy@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Dongwon Kim <dongwon.kim@intel.com> Message-Id: <20211104065153.28897-5-dongwon.kim@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>

The surfaces created with former qemu_create_message_surface did not display the content from the guest and always contained simple messages describing the reason. 2021-02-04display/ui: add a callback to indicate GL state is flushedMarc-André Lureau1-0/+2
Displaying rendered resources requires blocking qemu GPU to avoid extra framebuffer copies. For an external display, via Spice currently, there is a callback to block/unblock the rendering in the same thread. But with the vhost-user-gpu backend, the qemu process doesn't handle the rendering itself, and the blocking callback isn't effective. Instead, the backend must be notified when the display code is done. Fix this by adding a new GraphicHwOps callback to indicate the GL state is flushed, and we are done manipulating the shared GL resources. Call it from gtk and spice display. 2020-01-02console: add graphic_hw_update_done()Marc-André Lureau1-0/+2
Add a function to be called when a graphic update is done. Declare the QXL renderer as async: render_update_cookie_num counts the number of outstanding updates, and graphic_hw_update_done() is called when it reaches none. (note: this is preliminary work for asynchronous screendump support) Signed-off-by: Marc-André Lureau <marcandre.lureau@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Daniel P.
