2022-12-14qemu-config: Make config_parse_qdict() return boolMarkus Armbruster1-1/+1
This simplifies error checking. Cc: Hanna Reitz <hreitz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Markus Armbruster <armbru@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20221121085054.683122-7-armbru@redhat.com>
2022-04-28remove -writeconfigPaolo Bonzini1-1/+0
Like -set and -readconfig, it would not really be too hard to extend -writeconfig to parsing mechanisms other than QemuOpts. However, the uses of -writeconfig are substantially more limited, as it is generally easier to write the configuration by hand in the first place. In addition, -writeconfig does not even try to detect cases where it prints incorrect syntax (for example if values have a quote in them, since qemu_config_parse does not support any kind of escaping. Just remove it. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20220414145721.326866-1-pbonzini@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2021-06-04qemu-config: parse configuration files to a QDictPaolo Bonzini1-1/+6
Change the parser to put the values into a QDict and pass them to a callback. qemu_config_parse's QemuOpts creation is itself turned into a callback function. This is useful for -readconfig to support keyval-based options; getting a QDict from the parser removes a roundtrip from QDict to QemuOpts and then back to QDict. Unfortunately there is a disadvantage in that semantic errors will point to the last line of the group, because the entries of the QDict do not have a location attached. 2021-05-26qemu-config: load modules when instantiating option groupsPaolo Bonzini1-1/+1
Right now the SPICE module is special cased to be loaded when processing of the -spice command line option. However, the spice option group can also be brought in via -readconfig, in which case the module is not loaded. Add a generic hook to load modules that provide a QemuOpts group, and use it for the "spice" and "iscsi" groups. 2021-03-06qemu-config: add error propagation to qemu_config_parsePaolo Bonzini1-2/+3
This enables some simplification of vl.c via error_fatal, and improves error messages. 2018-02-09Move include qemu/option.h from qemu-common.h to actual usersMarkus Armbruster1-1/+0
qemu-common.h includes qemu/option.h, but most places that include the former don't actually need the latter. Drop the include, and add it to the places that actually need it. While there, drop superfluous includes of both headers, and separate #include from file comment with a blank line. This cleanup makes the number of objects depending on qemu/option.h drop from 4545 (out of 4743) to 284 in my "build everything" tree. 2018-02-09Include qapi/qmp/qdict.h exactly where neededMarkus Armbruster1-1/+0
This cleanup makes the number of objects depending on qapi/qmp/qdict.h drop from 4550 (out of 4743) to 368 in my "build everything" tree. For qapi/qmp/qobject.h, the number drops from 4552 to 390. 2017-01-23arch_init: Remove unnecessary default_config_files tableEduardo Habkost1-4/+0
The existing default_config_files table in arch_init.c has a single entry, making it completely unnecessary. The whole code can be replaced by a single qemu_read_config_file() call in vl.c. 2016-07-12Clean up header guards that don't match their file nameMarkus Armbruster1-3/+3
Header guard symbols should match their file name to make guard collisions less likely. Offenders found with scripts/clean-header-guards.pl -vn. Cleaned up with scripts/clean-header-guards.pl, followed by some renaming of new guard symbols picked by the script to better ones. 2016-02-23include: Clean up includesPeter Maydell1-2/+0
Clean up includes so that osdep.h is included first and headers which it implies are not included manually. This commit was created with scripts/clean-includes. NB: If this commit breaks compilation for your out-of-tree patchseries or fork, then you need to make sure you add #include "qemu/osdep.h" to any new .c files that you have. 2014-01-22qemu-option: Add qemu_config_parse_qdict()Max Reitz1-0/+6
This function basically parses command-line options given as a QDict replacing a config file. For instance, the QDict {"section.opt1": 42, "section.opt2": 23} corresponds to the config file: [section] opt1 = 42 opt2 = 23 It is possible to specify multiple sections and also multiple sections of the same type. On the command line, this looks like the following: inject-error.0.event=reftable_load,\ inject-error.1.event=l2_load,\ set-state.event=l1_update This would correspond to the following config file: [inject-error "inject-error.0"] event = reftable_load [inject-error "inject-error.1"] event = l2_load [set-state] event = l1_update Signed-off-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2013-11-14qmp: access the local QemuOptsLists for drive optionAmos Kong1-0/+1
Currently we have three QemuOptsList (qemu_common_drive_opts, qemu_legacy_drive_opts, and qemu_drive_opts), only qemu_drive_opts is added to vm_config_groups[]. This patch changes query-command-line-options to access three local QemuOptsLists for drive option, and merge the description items together.
