2024-05-10hw/xtensa: require libfdtPaolo Bonzini1-2/+2
All other boards require libfdt if it can be used (including for example i386/x86_64), so change the "imply" to "select" and always allow -dtb in qemu-system-xtensa. Reviewed-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2024-05-10kconfig: express dependency of individual boards on libfdtPaolo Bonzini1-0/+1
Now that boards are enabled by default and the "CONFIG_FOO=y" entries are gone from configs/devices/, there cannot be any more a conflicts between the default contents of configs/devices/ and a failed "depends on" clause. With this change, each individual board or target can express whether it needs FDT. It can then include the common code in the build via "select DEVICE_TREE", which will also as tell meson to link with libfdt. This allows building non-microvm x86 emulators without having libfdt available. Reviewed-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2024-05-03xtensa: switch boards to "default y"Paolo Bonzini1-0/+6
Some targets use "default y" for boards to filter out those that require TCG. For consistency we are switching all other targets to do the same. Continue with Xtensa. No changes to generated config-devices.mak file. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2019-10-18hw/xtensa: add virt machineMax Filippov1-0/+6
virt machine is a sim machine with generic PCI host controller. Make common parts of sim machine initialization reusable. Add PCI controller at 0xf0000000 with PIO space at its base address, ECAM space at base address + 1M and MMIO space at base address + 64M. Connect IRQ lines to consecutive CPU external IRQ pins starting from 0. Instantiate network interfaces on virt machine. Xtensa linux kernel configuration virt_defconfig can successfully boot on this machine. Signed-off-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com>
2019-03-07xtensa-softmmu.mak: express dependencies with KconfigPaolo Bonzini1-0/+3
%-softmmu.mak only keep boards and optional device definitions in Kconfig mode. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2019-03-07build: switch to KconfigPaolo Bonzini1-1/+1
The make_device_config.sh script is replaced by minikconf, which is modified to support the same command line as its predecessor. The roots of the parsing are default-configs/*.mak, Kconfig.host and hw/Kconfig. One difference with make_device_config.sh is that all symbols have to be defined in a Kconfig file, including those coming from the configure script. This is the reason for the Kconfig.host file introduced in the previous patch. Whenever a file in default-configs/*.mak used $(...) to refer to a config-host.mak symbol, this is replaced by a Kconfig dependency; this part must be done already in this patch for bisectability. 2019-03-07kconfig: introduce kconfig filesPaolo Bonzini1-0/+5
The Kconfig files were generated mostly with this script: for i in `grep -ho CONFIG_[A-Z0-9_]* default-configs/* | sort -u`; do set fnord `git grep -lw $i -- 'hw/*/Makefile.objs' ` shift if test $# = 1; then cat >> $(dirname $1)/Kconfig << EOF config ${i#CONFIG_} bool EOF git add $(dirname $1)/Kconfig else echo $i $* fi done sed -i '$d' hw/*/Kconfig for i in hw/*; do if test -d $i && ! test -f $i/Kconfig; then touch $i/Kconfig git add $i/Kconfig fi done Whenever a symbol is referenced from multiple subdirectories, the script prints the list of directories that reference the symbol. These symbols have to be added manually to the Kconfig files. Kconfig.host and hw/Kconfig were created manually.
