This reverts commit 1881f336a33a8a99cb17ab1c57ed953682e8e107. This commit breaks "-drive if=pflash,readonly=on,file=image.iso". It claims to merely replace an open-coded version of blk_name() by a call, but that's not the case. Sorry for the inconvenience! We have two inclusion loops: block/block.h -> block/block-global-state.h -> block/block-common.h -> block/blockjob.h -> block/block.h block/block.h -> block/block-io.h -> block/block-common.h -> block/blockjob.h -> block/block.h I believe these go back to Emanuele's reorganization of the block API, merged a few months ago in commit d7e2fe4aac8. Fortunately, breaking them is merely a matter of deleting unnecessary includes from headers, and adding them back in places where they are now missing. 2021-12-15hw: Replace trivial drive_get_next() by drive_get()Markus Armbruster1-1/+1
drive_get_next() is basically a bad idea. It returns the "next" block backend of a certain interface type. "Next" means bus=0,unit=N, where subsequent calls count N up from zero, per interface type. This lets you define unit numbers implicitly by execution order. If the order changes, or new calls appear "in the middle", unit numbers change. ABI break. Hard to spot in review. A number of machines connect just one backend with drive_get_next(). Change them to use drive_get() directly. This makes the (zero) unit number explicit in the code. 2020-02-19sparc/niagara: use memdev for RAMIgor Mammedov1-5/+2
memory_region_allocate_system_memory() API is going away, so replace it with memdev allocated MemoryRegion. The later is initialized by generic code, so board only needs to opt in to memdev scheme by providing MachineClass::default_ram_id and using MachineState::ram instead of manually initializing RAM memory region. 2019-10-23sparc64: use memory_region_allocate_system_memory() only for '-m' specified RAMIgor Mammedov1-12/+13
memory_region_allocate_system_memory() was designed to be called for allocating inital RAM. Using it mutiple times within one board is not supported and could fail if -mem-path with non hugepage path is used. Keep using memory_region_allocate_system_memory() only for initial RAM and use memory_region_init_ram() for the rest fixed size regions. In my "build everything" tree, changing sysemu/sysemu.h triggers a recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). hw/qdev-core.h includes sysemu/sysemu.h since recent commit e965ffa70a "qdev: add qdev_add_vm_change_state_handler()". This is a bad idea: hw/qdev-core.h is widely included. Move the declaration of qdev_add_vm_change_state_handler() to sysemu/sysemu.h, and drop the problematic include from hw/qdev-core.h. Touching sysemu/sysemu.h now recompiles some 1800 objects. qemu/uuid.h also drops from 5400 to 1800. A few more headers show smaller improvement: qemu/notify.h drops from 5600 to 5200, qemu/timer.h from 5600 to 4500, and qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h from 5500 to 5000. The previous commits have left only the declaration of hw_error() in hw/hw.h. This permits dropping most of its inclusions. Touching it now recompiles less than 200 objects. 2017-01-18target-sparc: fix up niagara machineArtyom Tarasenko1-0/+177
Remove the Niagara stub implementation from sun4u.c and add a machine, compatible with Legion simulator from the OpenSPARC T1 project. The machine uses the firmware supplied with the OpenSPARC T1 project, http://download.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/opensparc/OpenSPARCT1_Arch.1.5.tar.bz2 in the directory S10image/, and is able to boot the supplied Solaris 10 image. Note that for compatibility with the naming conventions for SPARC machines the new machine name is lowercase niagara.
