2012-01-27qdev: don't access name through infoAnthony Liguori1-1/+1
We already have a QOM interface for this so let's use it. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-27qdev: move qdev->info to classAnthony Liguori1-1/+1
Right now, DeviceInfo acts as the class for qdev. In order to switch to a proper ObjectClass derivative, we need to ween all of the callers off of interacting directly with the info pointer. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-27pcnet: Preserve link state across device resetJan Kiszka1-1/+2
A device reset does not affect the link state, only set_link does. Signed-off-by: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka@siemens.com> Signed-off-by: Stefan Hajnoczi <stefanha@linux.vnet.ibm.com>
2012-01-13Add 'fall through' comments to case statements without breakStefan Weil1-0/+1
These comments are used by static code analysis tools and in code reviews to avoid false warnings because of missing break statements. The case statements handled here were reported by coverity. 2011-11-01pcnet: Add link state supportJan Kiszka1-0/+7
Update lnkst on link state changes so that guests can obtain this information via reading back the LED output pin. Works for Linux but not for guests that depend on the missing PHY. Signed-off-by: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka@siemens.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2011-11-01pcnet: Move BCR defines to headerJan Kiszka1-18/+0
This moves BCR defines to the common header and immediately makes use of them to add BCR_APROMWE, replacing the open-coded write check in pcnet_aprom_writeb. Signed-off-by: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka@siemens.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2011-04-01pcnet: Fix sign extension: make ipxe work with >2G RAMMichael Brown1-15/+15
The problem is with definitions in hw/pcnet.c such as: #define CSR_CRDA(S) ((S)->csr[28] | ((S)->csr[29] << 16)) "(S)->csr[29]" is a uint16_t, but "(S)->csr[29] << 16" gets promoted to int, so the overall CSR_CRDA(s) is a (signed) int rather than a uint32_t. This then gets assigned to a uint64_t using target_phys_addr_t crda = CSR_CRDA(s); so when (S)->csr[29] has the high bit set, we end up with crda=0xffffffffxxxxxxxx. 2011-03-21change all other clock references to use nanosecond resolution accessorsPaolo Bonzini1-3/+3
This was done with: sed -i 's/qemu_get_clock\>/qemu_get_clock_ns/' \ $(git grep -l 'qemu_get_clock\>' ) sed -i 's/qemu_new_timer\>/qemu_new_timer_ns/' \ $(git grep -l 'qemu_new_timer\>' ) after checking that get_clock and new_timer never occur twice on the same line. There were no missed occurrences; however, even if there had been, they would have been caught by the compiler. There was exactly one false positive in qemu_run_timers: - current_time = qemu_get_clock (clock); + current_time = qemu_get_clock_ns (clock); which is of course not in this patch. 2009-10-01Revert "Get rid of _t suffix"Anthony Liguori1-29/+29
In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list. The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. 2009-08-27qdev: add return value to init() callbacks.Gerd Hoffmann1-5/+6
Sorry folks, but it has to be. One more of these invasive qdev patches. We have a serious design bug in the qdev interface: device init callbacks can't signal failure because the init() callback has no return value. This patch fixes it. We have already one case in-tree where this is needed: Try -device virtio-blk-pci (without drive= specified) and watch qemu segfault. This patch fixes it. With usb+scsi being converted to qdev we'll get more devices where the init callback can fail for various reasons. 2009-07-16qdev: rework device properties.Gerd Hoffmann1-3/+16
This patch is a major overhaul of the device properties. The properties are saved directly in the device state struct now, the linked list of property values is gone. Advantages: * We don't have to maintain the list with the property values. * The value in the property list and the value actually used by the device can't go out of sync any more (used to happen for the pci.devfn == -1 case) because there is only one place where the value is stored. * A record describing the property is required now, you can't set random properties any more. There are bus-specific and device-specific properties. The former should be used for properties common to all bus drivers. Typical use case is bus addressing, i.e. pci.devfn and i2c.address. Properties have a PropertyInfo struct attached with name, size and function pointers to parse and print properties. A few common property types have PropertyInfos defined in qdev-properties.c. Drivers are free to implement their own very special property parsers if needed. Properties can have default values. If unset they are zero-filled. 2009-07-09qdev: update pci device registration.Gerd Hoffmann1-1/+7
Makes pci_qdev_register take a PCIDeviceInfo struct instead of a bunch of parameters. Also adds config_read and config_write callbacks to PCIDeviceInfo, so drivers needing these can be converted to the qdev device API too. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>
2009-06-16Rename pci_register_io_region() to pci_register_bar()Avi Kivity1-2/+2
