2024-07-09hw/net:ftgmac100: update TX and RX packet buffers address to 64 bitsJamin Lin1-3/+18
ASPEED AST2700 SOC is a 64 bits quad core CPUs (Cortex-a35) And the base address of dram is "0x4 00000000" which is 64bits address. It have "TXDES 2" and "RXDES 2" to save the high part physical address of packet buffer. Ex: TX packet buffer address [34:0] The "TXDES 2" bits [18:16] which corresponds the bits [34:32] of the 64 bits address of the TX packet buffer address and "TXDES 3" bits [31:0] which corresponds the bits [31:0] of the 64 bits address of the TX packet buffer address. Update TX and RX packet buffers address type to 64 bits for dram 64 bits address DMA support. Signed-off-by: Jamin Lin <jamin_lin@aspeedtech.com> Reviewed-by: Cédric Le Goater <clg@redhat.com>

support 64 bits ASPEED AST2700 SOC is a 64 bits quad core CPUs (Cortex-a35) And the base address of dram is "0x4 00000000" which is 64bits address. It have "Normal Priority Transmit Ring Base Address Register High(0x17C)", "High Priority Transmit Ring Base Address Register High(0x184)" and "Receive Ring Base Address Register High(0x18C)" to save the high part physical address of descriptor manager. Ex: TX descriptor manager address [34:0] The "Normal Priority Transmit Ring Base Address Register High(0x17C)" bits [2:0] which corresponds the bits [34:32] of the 64 bits address of the TX ring buffer address. The "Normal Priority Transmit Ring Base Address Register(0x20)" bits [31:0] which corresponds the bits [31:0] of the 64 bits address of the TX ring buffer address. Introduce a new sub region which size is 0x100 for the set of new registers and map it at 0x100 in the container region. This sub region range is from 0x100 to 0x1ff. Introduce a new property and object attribute to activate the region for new registers. Introduce a new memop handlers for the new register read and write. 2024-07-09hw/net:ftgmac100: update ring base address to 64 bitsJamin Lin1-17/+16
Update TX and RX ring base address data type to uint64_t for 64 bits dram address DMA support. Both "Normal Priority Transmit Ring Base Address Register(0x20)" and "Receive Ring Base Address Register (0x24)" are used for saving the low part physical address of descriptor manager. Therefore, changes to set TX and RX descriptor manager address bits [31:0] in ftgmac100_read and ftgmac100_write functions. Incrementing the version of vmstate to 2. 2024-07-09hw/net:ftgmac100: update memory region size to 64KBJamin Lin1-3/+8
According to the datasheet of ASPEED SOCs, one MAC controller owns 128KB of register space for AST2500. However, one MAC controller only owns 64KB of register space for AST2600 and AST2700. It set the memory region size 128KB and it occupied another controllers Address Spaces. Update one MAC controller memory region size to 0x1000 because AST2500 did not use register spaces over than 64KB. Introduce a new container region size to 0x1000 and its range is from 0 to 0xfff. This container is mapped a sub region for the current set of register. This sub region range is from 0 to 0xff. 2024-06-21hw/net/can/xlnx-versal-canfd: Fix sorting of the tx queueShiva sagar Myana1-1/+4
Returning an uint32_t casted to a gint from g_cmp_ids causes the tx queue to become wrongly sorted when executing g_slist_sort. Fix this by always returning -1 or 1 from g_cmp_ids based on the ID comparison instead. Also, if two message IDs are the same, sort them by using their index and transmit the message at the lowest index first. 2024-06-04virtio-net: drop too short packets earlyAlexey Dobriyan1-6/+12
Reproducer from https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu/-/issues/1451 creates small packet (1 segment, len = 10 == n->guest_hdr_len), then destroys queue. "if (n->host_hdr_len != n->guest_hdr_len)" is triggered, if body creates zero length/zero segment packet as there is nothing after guest header. qemu_sendv_packet_async() tries to send it. slirp discards it because it is smaller than Ethernet header, but returns 0 because tx hooks are supposed to return total length of data. 0 is propagated upwards and is interpreted as "packet has been sent" which is terrible because queue is being destroyed, nobody is waiting for TX to complete and assert it triggered. Fix is discard such empty packets instead of sending them. Length 1 packets will go via different codepath: virtqueue_push(q->tx_vq, elem, 0); virtio_notify(vdev, q->tx_vq); g_free(elem); and aren't problematic. 2024-06-04virtio-net: Do not propagate ebpf-rss-fds errorsAkihiko Odaki1-13/+10
Propagating ebpf-rss-fds errors has several problems. First, it makes device realization fail and disables the fallback to the conventional eBPF loading. Second, it leaks memory by making device realization fail without freeing memory already allocated. Third, the convention is to set an error when a function returns false, but virtio_net_load_ebpf_fds() and virtio_net_load_ebpf() returns false without setting an error, which is confusing. Remove the propagation to fix these problems. Fixes: 0524ea0510a3 ("ebpf: Added eBPF initialization by fds.") 2024-03-29hw/net/net_tx_pkt: Fix virtio header without checksum offloadingAkihiko Odaki1-0/+1
It is incorrect to have the VIRTIO_NET_HDR_F_NEEDS_CSUM set when checksum offloading is disabled so clear the bit. TCP/UDP checksum is usually offloaded when the peer requires virtio headers because they can instruct the peer to compute checksum. However, igb disables TX checksum offloading when a VF is enabled whether the peer requires virtio headers because a transmitted packet can be routed to it and it expects the packet has a proper checksum. Therefore, it is necessary to have a correct virtio header even when checksum offloading is disabled. A real TCP/UDP checksum will be computed and saved in the buffer when checksum offloading is disabled. The virtio specification requires to set the packet checksum stored in the buffer to the TCP/UDP pseudo header when the VIRTIO_NET_HDR_F_NEEDS_CSUM bit is set so the bit must be cleared in that case. 2024-03-26vdpa-dev: Fix initialisation order to restore VDUSE compatibilityKevin Wolf1-0/+10
VDUSE requires that virtqueues are first enabled before the DRIVER_OK status flag is set; with the current API of the kernel module, it is impossible to enable the opposite order in our block export code because userspace is not notified when a virtqueue is enabled. This requirement also mathces the normal initialisation order as done by the generic vhost code in QEMU. However, commit 6c482547 accidentally changed the order for vdpa-dev and broke access to VDUSE devices with this. This changes vdpa-dev to use the normal order again and use the standard vhost callback .vhost_set_vring_enable for this. VDUSE devices can be used with vdpa-dev again after this fix. vhost_net intentionally avoided enabling the vrings for vdpa and does this manually later while it does enable them for other vhost backends. Reflect this in the vhost_net code and return early for vdpa, so that the behaviour doesn't change for this device. 2024-03-09hw/net/xen_nic: Fix missing ERRP_GUARD() for error_prepend()Zhao Liu1-0/+1
As the comment in qapi/error, passing @errp to error_prepend() requires ERRP_GUARD(): * = Why, when and how to use ERRP_GUARD() = * * Without ERRP_GUARD(), use of the @errp parameter is restricted: ... * - It should not be passed to error_prepend(), error_vprepend() or * error_append_hint(), because that doesn't work with &error_fatal. * ERRP_GUARD() lifts these restrictions. * * To use ERRP_GUARD(), add it right at the beginning of the function. * @errp can then be used without worrying about the argument being * NULL or &error_fatal. ERRP_GUARD() could avoid the case when @errp is the pointer of error_fatal, the user can't see this additional information, because exit() happens in error_setg earlier than information is added [1]. The xen_netdev_connect() passes @errp to error_prepend(), and its @errp parameter is from xen_device_frontend_changed(). Though its @errp points to @local_err of xen_device_frontend_changed(), to follow the requirement of @errp, add missing ERRP_GUARD() at the beginning of this function. 2024-02-28migration: MigrationEvent for notifiersSteve Sistare1-5/+6
Passing MigrationState to notifiers is unsound because they could access unstable migration state internals or even modify the state. Instead, pass the minimal info needed in a new MigrationEvent struct, which could be extended in the future if needed. 2024-02-28migration: convert to NotifierWithReturnSteve Sistare1-1/+3
Change all migration notifiers to type NotifierWithReturn, so notifiers can return an error status in a future patch. For now, pass NULL for the notifier error parameter, and do not check the return value. 2024-02-11hw/net/tulip: add chip status register valuesSven Schnelle1-2/+2
Netbsd isn't able to detect a link on the emulated tulip card. That's because netbsd reads the Chip Status Register of the Phy (address 0x14). The default phy data in the qemu tulip driver is all zero, which means no link is established and autonegotation isn't complete. Therefore set the register to 0x3b40, which means: Link is up, Autonegotation complete, Full Duplex, 100MBit/s Link speed. Also clear the mask because this register is read only. 2024-02-02hw/net/lasi_i82596: use qemu_create_nic_device()David Woodhouse1-5/+7
Create the device only if there is a corresponding NIC config for it. Remove the explicit check on nd_table[0].used from hw/hppa/machine.c which (since commit d8a3220005d7) tries to do the same thing. The lasi_82596 support has been disabled since it was first introduced, since enable_lasi_lan() has always been zero. This allows the user to enable it by explicitly requesting a NIC model 'lasi_82596' or just using the alias 'lasi'. Otherwise, it defaults to a PCI NIC as before. And include "sysemu/sysemu.h" so it actually builds.
