Recently MemReentrancyGuard was added to DeviceState to record that the device is engaging in I/O. The network device backend needs to update it when delivering a packet to a device. 2023-01-08include/hw/pci: Split pci_device.h off pci.hMarkus Armbruster1-1/+1
PCIDeviceClass and PCIDevice are defined in pci.h. Many users of the header don't actually need them. Similar structs live in their own headers: PCIBusClass and PCIBus in pci_bus.h, PCIBridge in pci_bridge.h, PCIHostBridgeClass and PCIHostState in pci_host.h, PCIExpressHost in pcie_host.h, and PCIERootPortClass, PCIEPort, and PCIESlot in pcie_port.h. Move PCIDeviceClass and PCIDeviceClass to new pci_device.h, along with the code that needs them. Adjust include directives. This also enables the next commit. In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/qdev-properties.h triggers a recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). Many places including hw/qdev-properties.h (directly or via hw/qdev.h) actually need only hw/qdev-core.h. Include hw/qdev-core.h there instead. hw/qdev.h is actually pointless: all it does is include hw/qdev-core.h and hw/qdev-properties.h, which in turn includes hw/qdev-core.h. Replace the remaining uses of hw/qdev.h by hw/qdev-properties.h. While there, delete a few superfluous inclusions of hw/qdev-core.h. Touching hw/qdev-properties.h now recompiles some 1200 objects. net_crc32() function Separate out the standard ethernet CRC32 calculation into a new net_crc32() function, renaming the constant POLYNOMIAL to POLYNOMIAL_BE to make it clear that this is a big-endian CRC32 calculation. As part of the constant rename, remove the duplicate definition of POLYNOMIAL from eepro100.c and use the new POLYNOMIAL_BE constant instead. Once this is complete remove the existing CRC32 implementation from compute_mcast_idx() and call the new net_crc32() function in its place. 2017-11-20hw/net/eepro100: Fix endianness problem on big endian hostsThomas Huth1-2/+2
Since commit 1865e288a823c764cd4344d ("Fix eepro100 simple transmission mode"), the test/pxe-test is broken for the eepro100 device on big endian hosts. However, it seems like that commit did not introduce the problem, but just uncovered it: The EEPRO100State->tx.tbd_array_addr and EEPRO100State->tx.tcb_bytes fields are already in host byte order, since they have already been byte-swapped in the read_cb() function. Thus byte-swapping them in tx_command() again results in the wrong endianness. Removing the byte-swapping here fixes the pxe-test. 2016-07-19qapi: Change Netdev into a flat unionEric Blake1-1/+1
This is a mostly-mechanical conversion that creates a new flat union 'Netdev' QAPI type that covers all the branches of the former 'NetClientOptions' simple union, where the branches are now listed in a new 'NetClientDriver' enum rather than generated from the simple union. The existence of a flat union has no change to the command line syntax accepted for new code, and will make it possible for a future patch to switch the QMP command to parse a boxed union for no change to valid QMP; but it does have some ripple effect on the C code when dealing with the new types. While making the conversion, note that the 'NetLegacy' type remains unchanged: it applies only to legacy command line options, and will not be ported to QMP, so it should remain a wrapper around a simple union; to avoid confusion, the type named 'NetClientOptions' is now gone, and we introduce 'NetLegacyOptions' in its place. Then, in the C code, we convert from NetLegacy to Netdev as soon as possible, so that the bulk of the net stack only has to deal with one QAPI type, not two. Note that since the old legacy code always rejected 'hubport', we can just omit that branch from the new 'NetLegacyOptions' simple union. nic_receive already checks the conditions and drop packets if false. Due to the new semantics since 6e99c63 ("net/socket: Drop net_socket_can_send"), having .can_receive returning 0 requires us to explicitly flush the queued packets when the conditions are becoming true, but queuing the packets when guest driver is not ready doesn't make much sense. 2015-01-12net: remove all cleanup methods from NIC NetClientInfosPaolo Bonzini1-8/+0
All NICs have a cleanup function that, in most cases, zeroes the pointer to the NICState. In some cases, it frees data belonging to the NIC. However, this function is never called except when exiting from QEMU. It is not necessary to NULL pointers and free data here; the right place to do that would be in the device's unrealize function, after calling qemu_del_nic. Zeroing the NIC multiple times is also wrong for multiqueue devices. This cleanup function gets in the way of making the NetClientStates for the NIC hold an object_ref reference to the object, so get rid of it. Although we defined an eepro100_mdi_mask[] array indicating which bits in the registers are read-only, we weren't actually doing anything with it. Make the MDI register-write code use it rather than manually making register 1 read-only and leaving the rest as reads-as-written. (The special-case handling of register 0 remains as before since its mask is all-zeros and the special casing happens before we apply the masking.) pci_set_irq and the other pci irq wrappers use PCI_INTERRUPT_PIN config register to compute device INTx pin to assert/deassert. An irq is allocated using pci_allocate_irq wrapper only if is needed by non pci devices. Removed irq related fields from state if not used anymore.
