2022-03-09mos6522: switch over to use qdev gpios for IRQsMark Cave-Ayland2-4/+5
For historical reasons each mos6522 instance implements its own setting and update of the IFR flag bits using methods exposed by MOS6522DeviceClass. As of today this is no longer required, and it is now possible to implement the mos6522 IRQs as standard qdev gpios. Switch over to use qdev gpios for the mos6522 device and update all instances accordingly. 2022-01-28rtc: Move RTC function prototypes to their own headerPeter Maydell2-2/+2
softmmu/rtc.c defines two public functions: qemu_get_timedate() and qemu_timedate_diff(). Currently we keep the prototypes for these in qemu-common.h, but most files don't need them. Move them to their own header, a new include/sysemu/rtc.h. Since the C files using these two functions did not need to include qemu-common.h for any other reason, we can remove those include lines when we add the include of the new rtc.h. The license for the .h file follows that of the softmmu/rtc.c where both the functions are defined. 2020-11-12macio: set user_creatable to false in macio_class_init()Mark Cave-Ayland1-0/+2
Commit 348b8d1a76 "macio: don't reference serial_hd() directly within the device" removed the setting of user_creatable to false on the basis that the restriction was due to the use of serial_hd() in macio_instance_init(). Unfortunately this isn't the full story since the PIC object property links must still be set before the device is realized. Whilst it is possible to update the macio device and Mac machines to resolve this, the fix is too invasive at this point in the release cycle. For now simply set user_creatable back to false in macio_class_init() to prevent QEMU from segfaulting in anticipation of the proper fix arriving in QEMU 6.0. Meson doesn't enjoy the same flexibility we have with Make in choosing the include path. In particular the tracing headers are using $(build_root)/$(<D). In order to keep the include directives unchanged, the simplest solution is to generate headers with patterns like "trace/trace-audio.h" and place forwarding headers in the source tree such that for example "audio/trace.h" includes "trace/trace-audio.h". This patch is too ugly to be applied to the Makefiles now. It's only a way to separate the changes to the tracing header files from the Meson rewrite of the tracing logic. For an actual example, see sclp_realize(). Without the "when strict", Coccinelle transforms vfio_msix_setup(), incorrectly. I don't know what exactly "when strict" does, only that it helps here. The match of return is narrower than what I want, but I can't figure out how to express "return where the operand doesn't use @err". For an example where it's too narrow, see vfio_intx_enable(). Silently fails to convert hw/arm/armsse.c, because Coccinelle gets confused by ARMSSE being used both as typedef and function-like macro there. Converted manually. Line breaks tidied up manually. One nested declaration of @local_err deleted manually. Preexisting unwanted blank line dropped in hw/riscv/sifive_e.c. The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second call. virtio_gpu_pci_base_realize(), virtio_vga_base_realize(), sparc32_ledma_device_realize(), sparc32_dma_realize(), sparc32_dma_realize() xilinx_axidma_realize(), mips_cps_realize(), macio_realize_ide(), xilinx_enet_realize(), and virtio_iommu_pci_realize() are wrong that way: they reuse the argument they pass to object_property_set_link() for another call. Harmless, because object_property_set_link() can't actually fail for them: it fails when the property doesn't exist, is not settable, or its .check() method fails. cuda_init() creates a "mos6522-cuda" device, but it's never realized. Affects machines mac99 with via=cuda (default) and g3beige. pmu_init() creates a "mos6522-pmu" device, but it's never realized. Affects machine mac99 with via=pmu and via=pmu-adb, In theory, a device becomes real only on realize. In practice, the transition from unreal to real is a fuzzy one. The work to make a device real can be spread between realize methods (fine), instance_init methods (wrong), and board code wiring up the device (fine as long as it effectively happens on realize). Depending on what exactly is done where, a device can work even when we neglect to realize it. These two appear to work. Nevertheless, it's a clear misuse of the interface. Even when it works today (more or less by chance), it can break tomorrow. Fix by realizing them in cuda_realize() and pmu_realize(), respectively.
