2022-10-09hmp: add virtio commandsLaurent Vivier1-0/+70
This patch implements the HMP versions of the virtio QMP commands. 2022-09-15monitor: Support specified vCPU registerszhenwei pi1-3/+5
Originally we have to get all the vCPU registers and parse the specified one. To improve the performance of this usage, allow user specified vCPU id to query registers. Run a VM with 16 vCPU, use bcc tool to track the latency of 'hmp_info_registers': 'info registers -a' uses about 3ms; 'info registers 12' uses about 150us. 2022-07-20softmmu/dirtylimit: Implement dirty page rate limitHyman Huang(黄勇)1-0/+13
Implement dirtyrate calculation periodically basing on dirty-ring and throttle virtual CPU until it reachs the quota dirty page rate given by user. Introduce qmp commands "set-vcpu-dirty-limit", "cancel-vcpu-dirty-limit", "query-vcpu-dirty-limit" to enable, disable, query dirty page limit for virtual CPU. Meanwhile, introduce corresponding hmp commands "set_vcpu_dirty_limit", "cancel_vcpu_dirty_limit", "info vcpu_dirty_limit" so the feature can be more usable. "query-vcpu-dirty-limit" success depends on enabling dirty page rate limit, so just add it to the list of skipped command to ensure qmp-cmd-test run successfully. 2022-06-14hmp: add filtering of statistics by namePaolo Bonzini1-4/+4
Allow the user to request only a specific subset of statistics. This can be useful when working on a feature or optimization that is known to affect that statistic. Example: (qemu) info stats vcpu halt_poll_fail_ns provider: kvm halt_poll_fail_ns (cumulative, ns): 0 In case multiple providers have the same statistic, the provider can be specified too: (qemu) info stats vcpu halt_poll_fail_ns kvm provider: kvm halt_poll_fail_ns (cumulative, ns): 0 Extracted from a patch by Mark Kanda. This displays detailed information about the device registers and timers to aid debugging problems with timers and interrupts. The generic 'migrate_set_parameters' command handle all types of param. We no longer generate texinfo from the hxtool input files, so delete all the STEXI/ETEXI blocks. 2020-03-06hmp-commands-info.hx: Add rST documentation fragmentsPeter Maydell1-0/+271
Add the rST versions of the documentation fragments. Once we've converted fully from Texinfo to rST we can remove the ETEXI fragments; for the moment we need both. Note that most of the SRST fragments are 2-space indented so that the 'info foo' documentation entries appear as a sublist under the 'info' entry in the top level list. Again, all we need to do to put the documentation in the Sphinx manual is a one-line hxtool-doc invocation. 2018-07-03qapi: add conditions to VNC type/commands/events on the schemaMarc-André Lureau1-0/+2
Add #if defined(CONFIG_VNC) in generated code, and adjust the qmp/hmp code accordingly. query-qmp-schema no longer reports the command/events etc as available when disabled at compile. Commands made conditional: * query-vnc, query-vnc-servers, change-vnc-password Before the patch, the commands for !CONFIG_VNC are stubs that fail like this: {"error": {"class": "GenericError", "desc": "The feature 'vnc' is not enabled"}} Afterwards, they fail like this: {"error": {"class": "CommandNotFound", "desc": "The command FOO has not been found"}} I call that an improvement, because it lets clients distinguish between command unavailable (class CommandNotFound) and command failed (class GenericError). Events made conditional: * VNC_CONNECTED, VNC_INITIALIZED, VNC_DISCONNECTED HMP change: * info vnc Will return "unknown command: 'info vnc'" when VNC is compiled out (same as error for spice when --disable-spice) Occurrences of VNC (case insensitive) in the schema that aren't covered by this change: * add_client Command has other uses, including "socket bases character devices". These are unconditional as far as I can tell. * set_password, expire_password In theory, these commands could be used for managing any service's password. In practice, they're used for VNC and SPICE services. They're documented for "remote display session" / "remote display server". The service is selected by argument @protocol. The code special-cases protocol-specific argument checking, then calls a protocol-specific function to do the work. If it fails, the command fails with "Could not set password". It does when the service isn't compiled in (it's a stub then). We could make these commands conditional on the conjunction of all services [currently: defined(CONFIG_VNC) || defined(CONFIG_SPICE)], but I doubt it's worthwhile. * change Command has other uses, namely changing media. This patch inlines a stub; no functional change. 2017-09-14hmp: introduce 'info memory_size_summary' commandVadim Galitsyn1-0/+16
Add 'info memory_size_summary' command which is a sibling of QMP command query-memory-size-summary. It provides the following memory information in bytes: * base-memory - size of "base" memory specified with command line option -m. * plugged-memory - amount of memory that was hot-plugged. If target does not have CONFIG_MEM_HOTPLUG enabled, no value is reported. 2017-06-29monitor: Add -a (all) option to info registersSuraj Jitindar Singh1-3/+3
The info registers command in the qemu monitor is used to dump register values. Currently this command uses the monitor cpu (which can be set by the user) as the cpu for whose registers will be dumped. Sometimes it is useful to see the registers for all cpus and currently this requires setting the monitor cpu and the re-running the command for each cpu in the system. I would be nice if there was an easier way to do this. Add the "-a" option to the info registers command to dump the register values for all cpus.
