2024-01-05cpu: Add generic cpu_list()Gavin Shan1-3/+26
Add generic cpu_list() to replace the individual target's implementation in the subsequent commits. Currently, there are 3 targets with no cpu_list() implementation: microblaze and nios2. With this applied, those two targets switch to the generic cpu_list(). [gshan@gshan q]$ ./build/qemu-system-microblaze -cpu ? Available CPUs: microblaze-cpu [gshan@gshan q]$ ./build/qemu-system-nios2 -cpu ? Available CPUs: nios2-cpu Suggested-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Gavin Shan <gshan@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Reviewed-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@linaro.org> Message-ID: <20231114235628.534334-7-gshan@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@linaro.org>
2024-01-05cpu: Add helper cpu_model_from_type()Gavin Shan1-0/+15
Add helper cpu_model_from_type() to extract the CPU model name from the CPU type name in two circumstances: (1) The CPU type name is the combination of the CPU model name and suffix. (2) The CPU type name is same to the CPU model name. The helper will be used in the subsequent commits to conver the CPU type name to the CPU model name. 2023-11-08cpu: Call plugin hooks only when readyAkihiko Odaki1-11/+0
The initialization and exit hooks will not affect the state of vCPU outside TCG context, but they may depend on the state of vCPU. Therefore, it's better to call plugin hooks after the vCPU state is fully initialized and before it gets uninitialized. 2023-11-07exec/cpu: Have cpu_exec_realize() return a booleanPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé1-2/+4
Following the example documented since commit e3fe3988d7 ("error: Document Error API usage rules"), have cpu_exec_realizefn() return a boolean indicating whether an error is set or not. 2023-10-04exec: Rename cpu.c -> cpu-target.cPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé1-0/+435
We have exec/cpu code split in 2 files for target agnostic ("common") and specific. Rename 'cpu.c' which is target specific using the '-target' suffix. Update MAINTAINERS. Remove the 's from 'cpus-common.c' to match the API cpu_foo() functions.
