2022-09-19audio: add help option for -audio and -audiodevClaudio Fontana1-0/+1
add a simple help option for -audio and -audiodev to show the list of available drivers, and document them. Signed-off-by: Claudio Fontana <cfontana@suse.de> Message-Id: <20220908081441.7111-1-cfontana@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2022-09-02audio: exit(1) if audio backend failed to be found or initializedMarc-André Lureau1-1/+1
If you specify a known backend but it isn't compiled in, or failed to initialize, you get a simple warning and the "none" backend as a fallback, and QEMU runs happily: $ qemu-system-x86_64 -audiodev id=audio, driver=dsound audio: Unknown audio driver `dsound' audio: warning: Using timer based audio emulation ... Instead, QEMU should fail to start: $ qemu-system-x86_64 -audiodev id=audio, driver=dsound audio: Unknown audio driver `dsound' $ Resolves: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1983493 Signed-off-by: Marc-André Lureau <marcandre.lureau@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Volker Rümelin <vr_qemu@t-online.de> Message-Id: <20220822131021.975656-1-marcandre.lureau@redhat.com>
2022-05-14introduce -audio as a replacement for -soundhwPaolo Bonzini1-0/+1
-audio is used like "-audio pa,model=sb16". It is almost as simple as -soundhw, but it reuses the -audiodev parsing machinery and attaches an audiodev to the newly-created device. The main 'feature' is that it knows about adding the codec device for model=intel-hda, and adding the audiodev to the codec device. In the future, it could be extended to support default models or builtin devices, just like -nic, or even a default backend. For now, keep it simple. 2022-04-06Replace config-time define HOST_WORDS_BIGENDIANMarc-André Lureau1-1/+1
Replace a config-time define with a compile time condition define (compatible with clang and gcc) that must be declared prior to its usage. This avoids having a global configure time define, but also prevents from bad usage, if the config header wasn't included before. This can help to make some code independent from qemu too. gcc supports __BYTE_ORDER__ from about 4.6 and clang from 3.2. 2019-08-21audio: add audiodev properties to frontendsKővágó, Zoltán1-0/+4
Finally add audiodev= options to audio frontends so users can specify which backend to use when multiple backends exist. 2019-08-21audio: basic support for multi backend audioKővágó, Zoltán1-3/+9
Audio functions no longer access glob_audio_state, instead they get an AudioState as a parameter. This is required in order to support multiple backends. glob_audio_state is also gone, and replaced with a tailq so we can store more than one states. 2019-03-11audio: -audiodev command line option basic implementationKővágó, Zoltán1-3/+15
Audio drivers now get an Audiodev * as config paramters, instead of the global audio_option structs. There is some code in audio/audio_legacy.c that converts the old environment variables to audiodev options (this way backends do not have to worry about legacy options). It also contains a replacement of -audio-help, which prints out the equivalent -audiodev based config of the currently specified environment variables. Note that backends are not updated and still rely on environment variables. Also note that (due to moving try-poll from global to backend specific option) currently ALSA and OSS will always try poll mode, regardless of environment variables or -audiodev options. 2019-03-11audio: use qapi AudioFormat instead of audfmt_eKővágó, Zoltán1-10/+2
I had to include an enum for audio sampling formats into qapi, but that meant duplicating the audfmt_e enum. This patch replaces audfmt_e and associated values with the qapi generated AudioFormat enum. This patch is mostly a search-and-replace, except for switches where the qapi generated AUDIO_FORMAT_MAX caused problems. 2016-08-08audio: clean up before monitor clean upMarc-André Lureau1-0/+3
Since aa5cb7f5e, the chardevs are being cleaned up when leaving qemu, before the atexit() handlers. audio_cleanup() may use the monitor to notify of changes. For compatibility reasons, let's clean up audio before the monitor so it keeps emitting monitor events. The audio_atexit() function is made idempotent (so it can be called multiple times), and renamed to audio_cleanup(). Since coreaudio backend is using a 'isAtexit' code path, change it to check audio_is_cleaning_up() instead, so the path is taken during normal exit. 2010-10-03Replace most gcc format attributes by macro GCC_FMT_ATTR (format checking)Stefan Weil1-5/+1
Since version 4.4.x, gcc supports additional format attributes. __attribute__ ((format (gnu_printf, 1, 2))) should be used instead of __attribute__ ((format (printf, 1, 2)) because QEMU always uses standard format strings (even with mingw32). The patch replaces format attribute printf / __printf__ by macro GCC_FMT_ATTR which uses gnu_printf if supported. It also removes an #ifdef __GNUC__ (not needed any longer). 2009-09-12Fix sys-queue.h conflict for goodBlue Swirl1-3/+3
Problem: Our file sys-queue.h is a copy of the BSD file, but there are some additions and it's not entirely compatible. Because of that, there have been conflicts with system headers on BSD systems. Some hacks have been introduced in the commits 15cc9235840a22c289edbe064a9b3c19c5f49896, f40d753718c72693c5f520f0d9899f6e50395e94, 96555a96d724016e13190b28cffa3bc929ac60dc and 3990d09adf4463eca200ad964cc55643c33feb50 but the fixes were fragile.
