Now we have to variables: QEMU_CFLAGS: flags without which we can't compile CFLAGS: "-g -O2" We can now run: make CFLAGS="-fbar" foo.o make CFLAGS="" foo.o make CFLAGS="-O3" foo.o And it all should work. 2009-08-10Add new block driver for the VDI format (only aio supported)Stefan Weil1-1/+1
This is a new block driver written from scratch to support the VDI format in QEMU. VDI is the native format used by Innotek / SUN VirtualBox. Latest changes: * stripped down version (code for synchronous operations and experimental code removed) * don't open VDI snapshot images (with uuid_link or uuid_parent) * modified vdi_aio_cancel Signed-off-by: Stefan Weil <weil@mail.berlios.de> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com> Message-Id:

2009-07-16qdev: rework device properties.Gerd Hoffmann1-1/+1
This patch is a major overhaul of the device properties. The properties are saved directly in the device state struct now, the linked list of property values is gone. Advantages: * We don't have to maintain the list with the property values. * The value in the property list and the value actually used by the device can't go out of sync any more (used to happen for the pci.devfn == -1 case) because there is only one place where the value is stored. * A record describing the property is required now, you can't set random properties any more. There are bus-specific and device-specific properties. The former should be used for properties common to all bus drivers. Typical use case is bus addressing, i.e. pci.devfn and i2c.address. Properties have a PropertyInfo struct attached with name, size and function pointers to parse and print properties. A few common property types have PropertyInfos defined in qdev-properties.c. Drivers are free to implement their own very special property parsers if needed. Properties can have default values. If unset they are zero-filled. 2009-06-29Multiboot build system v4Alexander Graf1-3/+9
In order to build the multiboot option rom, we need a Makefile and a tool to sign the rom with. Both are provided by this patch and mostly taken from the extboot source, written by Anthony Liguori. Once built, the resulting binary gets copied to pc-bios automatically. Building also occurs automatically when on an x86 host. 2009-06-29sdl zoomingStefano Stabellini1-2/+4
Hi all, this patch implements zooming capabilities for the sdl interface. A new sdl_zoom_blit function is added that is able to scale and blit a portion of a surface into another. This way we can enable SDL_RESIZABLE and have a real_screen surface with a different size than the guest surface and let sdl_zoom_blit take care of the problem. 2009-06-16qcow2: Split out guest cluster functionsKevin Wolf1-1/+1
qcow2-cluster.c contains all functions related to the management of guest clusters, i.e. what the guest sees on its virtual disk. This code is about mapping these guest clusters to host clusters in the image file using the two-level lookup tables. 2009-06-16qcow2: Split out refcount handlingKevin Wolf1-1/+2
qcow2-refcount.c contains all functions which are related to cluster allocation and management in the image file. A large part of this is the reference counting of these clusters. Also a header file qcow2.h is introduced which will contain the interface of the split qcow2 modules. Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

2009-05-22Add HTTP protocol using curl v6Alexander Graf1-0/+6
Currently Qemu can read from posix I/O and NBD. This patch adds a third protocol to the game: HTTP. In certain situations it can be useful to access HTTP data directly, for example if you want to try out an http provided OS image, but don't know if you want to download it yet. Using this patch you can now try it on on the fly. Just use it like: qemu -cdrom http://host/path/my.iso Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>
