2019-07-03Makefile: Reuse all's recursion machinery for clean and installMarkus Armbruster1-30/+27
Targets "clean" and "install" run make recursively in a for loop. This ignores -j and -k. Target "all" depends on SUBDIR/all to recurse into each SUBDIR. Behaves nicely with -j and -k. Put that to use for "clean" and "install": depend on SUBDIR/clean or SUBDIR/install, respectively, and delete the loop. 2019-07-03Makefile: Rename targets for make recursionMarkus Armbruster3-17/+30
We make a few sub-directories recursively, in particular $(TARGET_DIRS). For goal "all", we do it the nice way: "all" has a prerequisite subdir-T for each T in $(TARGET_DIRS), and T's recipe runs make recursively. Behaves nicely with -j and -k. For other goals such as "clean" and "install", the recipe runs make recursively in a for loop. Ignores -j and -k. The next commit will fix that for "clean" and "install". This commit prepares the ground by renaming the targets we use for "all" to include the goal for the sub-make. This will permit reusing them for goals other than "all". Targets subdir-T for T in $(TARGET_DIRS) run "make all" in T. Rename to T/all, and declare phony. Targets romsubdir-R for R in $(ROMS) run "make" in pc-bios/R. Default goal is "all" for all R. Rename to pc-bios/R/all, and declare phony. The remainder are renamed just for consistency. Target subdir-dtc runs "make libbft/libfdt.a" in dtc. Rename to dtc/all, and declare phony. Target subdir-capstone runs make $(BUILD_DIR)/capstone/$(LIBCAPSTONE) in $(SRC_PATH)/capstone. Rename to capstone/all, and declare phony. Target subdir-slirp runs "make" in $(SRC_PATH)/slirp. Default goal is all, which builds $(BUILD_DIR)/libslirp.a. Rename to slirp/all, and declare phony. 2019-06-28ati-vga: Implement DDC and EDID info from monitorBALATON Zoltan5-2/+74
This adds DDC support to ati-vga and connects i2c-ddc to it. This allows at least MacOS with an ATI ndrv, Linux radeonfb and MorphOS to get monitor EDID info (although MorphOS splash screen is not displayed and radeonfb needs additional tables from vgabios-rv100). Xorg needs additional support from VESA vgabios, it's missing INT10 0x4F15 function (see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/blob/master/hw/xfree86/vbe/vbe.c) without which no DDC is available that also prevents loading the accelerated X driver. 2019-06-28i2c: Move bitbang_i2c.h to include/hw/i2c/BALATON Zoltan6-6/+5
The bitbang i2c implementation is also useful for other device models such as DDC in display controllers. Move the header to include/hw/i2c/ to allow it to be used from other device models and adjust users of this include. This also reverts commit 2b4c1125ac which is no longer needed. 2019-06-26configure: disallow spaces and colons in source path and build pathAntonio Ospite2-0/+9
The configure script breaks when the qemu source directory is in a path containing white spaces, in particular the list of targets is not correctly generated when calling "./configure --help" because of how the default_target_list variable is built. In addition to that, *building* qemu from a directory with spaces breaks some assumptions in the Makefiles, even if the original source path does not contain spaces like in the case of an out-of-tree build, or when symlinks are involved. To avoid these issues, refuse to run the configure script and the Makefile if there are spaces or colons in the source path or the build path, taking as inspiration what the kbuild system in linux does. Since commit 79d77bcd36 (configure: Remove --source-path option, 2019-04-29) source_path cannot be overridden anymore, move it out of the "default parameters" block since the word "default" may suggest that the value can change, while in fact it does not. While at it, only set source_path once and separate the positional argument of basename with "--" to more robustly cover the case of path names starting with a dash. 2019-06-26linux-user/m68k: remove simulator syscall interfaceLaurent Vivier5-183/+1
This interface has been introduced in 2005 with the coldfire implementation (e6e5906b6e ColdFire target.) and looks like to do what the linux-user interface already does with the TRAP exception rather than the ILLEGAL exception. This interface has not been maintained since that. The semi-hosting interface is not removed so coldfire kernel with semi-hosting is always supported. 2019-06-26The m68k gdbstub SR reg request doesnt include Condition-CodesLucien Murray-Pitts1-1/+2
The register request via gdbstub would return the SR part which contains the Trace/Master/IRQ state flags, but would be missing the CR (Condition Register) state bits. This fix adds this support by merging them in the m68k specific gdbstub handler m68k_cpu_gdb_read_register for SR register.
