2021-12-04 | sim: reorder header includes | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -2/+2
We're including system headers after local headers in a bunch of places, but this leads to conflicts when our local headers happen to define symbols that show up in the system headers. Use the more standard order of: * config.h (via defs.h) * system headers * local library headers (e.g. bfd & libiberty) * sim specific headers
2021-11-28 | sim: add checks to core headers to prevent incorrect common building | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -2/+1
Some of the core sim headers rely on the SIM_AC_OPTION_BITSIZE macro which can change the size of core types. Since these haven't been unified across ports, add checks to make sure they aren't accidentally included when building for all ports. This caught the sim-load file using poisoned headers that it didn't actually need.
2021-05-16 | sim: switch config.h usage to defs.h | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -3/+3
The defs.h header will take care of including the various config.h headers. For now, it's just config.h, but we'll add more when we integrate gnulib in. This header should be used instead of config.h, and should be the first include in every .c file. We won't rely on the old behavior where we expected files to include the port's sim-main.h which then includes the common sim-basics.h which then includes config.h. We have a ton of code that includes things before sim-main.h, and it sometimes needs to be that way. Creating a dedicated header avoids the ordering mess and implicit inclusion that shows up otherwise.
2021-05-14 | sim: create header namespace | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -2/+2
The gdb/callback.h & gdb/remote-sim.h headers have nothing to do with gdb and are really definitions for the libsim API under the sim/ tree. While gdb uses those headers as a client, it's not specific to it. So create a new sim/ namespace and move the headers there.
2021-05-04 | sim: clean up bfd_vma printing | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -18/+6
A lot of this code predates the bfd_vma format define, so we have a random mix of casts to known types so we can printf the value. Use the BFD_VMA_FMT that now exists to simplify and reliability output across different build configs.
2021-01-11 | sim: clean up C11 header includes | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -2/+0
Since we require C11 now, we can assume many headers exist, and clean up all of the conditional includes. It's not like any of this code actually accounted for the headers not existing, just whether we could include them. The strings.h cleanup is a little nuanced: it isn't in C11, but every use of it in the codebase will include strings.h only if string.h doesn't exist. Since we now assume the C11 string.h exists, we'll never include strings.h, so we can delete it.

2019-09-19 | bfd_section_* macros | Alan Modra | 1 | -4/+4
This large patch removes the unnecessary bfd parameter from various bfd section macros and functions. The bfd is hardly ever used and if needed for the bfd_set_section_* or bfd_rename_section functions can be found via section->owner except for the com, und, abs, and ind std_section special sections. Those sections shouldn't be modified anyway. The patch also removes various bfd_get_section_<field> macros, replacing their use with bfd_section_<field>, and adds bfd_set_section_lma. I've also fixed a minor bug in gas where compressed section renaming was done directly rather than calling bfd_rename_section. This would have broken bfd_get_section_by_name and similar functions, but that hardly mattered at such a late stage in gas processing. bfd/ * bfd-in.h (bfd_get_section_name, bfd_get_section_vma), (bfd_get_section_lma, bfd_get_section_alignment), (bfd_get_section_size, bfd_get_section_flags), (bfd_get_section_userdata): Delete. 2019-01-01 | Update copyright year range in all GDB files. | Joel Brobecker | 1 | -1/+1
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files.

2016-01-09 | sim: drop common/cconfig.h in favor of a single config.h | Mike Frysinger | 1 | -1/+1
The common subdir sets up a cconfig.h file to hold checks for the common code. In practice, most files still end up using config.h instead which just leads to confusion. Merge all the configure checks that went into cconfig.h into SIM_AC_COMMON so we can drop the cconfig.h file altogether. Now there is only a single config.h file like normal.
