Adds two new external authors to etc/update-copyright.py to cover
bfd/ax_tls.m4, and adds gprofng to dirs handled automatically, then
updates copyright messages as follows:
1) Update cgen/utils.scm emitted copyrights.
2) Run "etc/update-copyright.py --this-year" with an extra external
author I haven't committed, 'Kalray SA.', to cover gas testsuite
files (which should have their copyright message removed).
3) Build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes.
4) Check out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.
|
|
The newer update-copyright.py fixes file encoding too, removing cr/lf
on binutils/bfdtest2.c and ld/testsuite/ld-cygwin/exe-export.exp, and
embedded cr in binutils/testsuite/binutils-all/ar.exp string match.
|
|
The result of running etc/update-copyright.py --this-year, fixing all
the files whose mode is changed by the script, plus a build with
--enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes, then checking
out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.
The copy of cgen was with commit d1dd5fcc38ead reverted as that commit
breaks building of bfp opcodes files.

* incremental.cc (Sized_relobj_incr::do_section_name): Avoid
std:string undefined behaviour.
* options.h (Search_directory::Search_directory): Likewise.

This is the first in a series of patches aimed at supporting GOT
entries against symbol plus addend generally for PowerPC64 rather than
just section symbol plus addend as gold has currently.
This patch adds an addend field to Got_offset_list, so that both local
and global symbols can have GOT entries with addend.
PR 28192
* object.h (Got_offset_list): Add addend_ field, init in both
constructors. Adjust all accessors to suit.
(Sized_relobj::do_local_has_got_offset): Adjust to suit.

uint64_t parameter with FIXME.

Testing for the GCC version 5 or later isn't right, since C++ 11 support
wasn't enabled by default until later. This patch tests the C++ standard
support directly instead of inferring it from the GCC version.
gold/
* incremental.cc (Sized_incremental_binary::setup_readers): Use
emplace_back for C++ 11 or later.
|
|
Replacing push_back() with emplace_back() eliminates the calls to the
copy constructor, but I still had to provide explicit copy constructors
because of the call to vector::reserve(), which tries to instantiate them
even though they'll never actually be called when reserve() is called
on an empty vector.
gold/
* incremental.cc (Sized_incremental_binary::setup_readers): Use
emplace_back for GCC 5 and later.
* incremental.h (Incremental_binary::Input_reader): Provide copy
constructor.
(Sized_incremental_binary::Sized_input_reader): Likewise.

During a -r (or --emit-relocs) link, if two sections had the same name but
different section types, gold would put relocations for both sections into
the same relocation section even though the data sections remained separate.
For .eh_frame sections, when one section is PROGBITS and another is
X86_64_UNWIND, we really should be using the UNWIND section type and
combining the sections anyway. For other sections, we should be
creating one relocation section for each output data section.

This is a partial fix for the gold testsuite failures documented in
PR 21090. The use of -fpie triggers some mov-to-lea optimizations that
are not compatible with incremental linking, so those optimizations need
to be disabled. We also diagnose the attempt to use -pie with incremental
linking, and force -no-pie for the incremental tests in case the build has
been configured to have GCC pass -pie all the time.
We still have a problem where compiling with -fpie results in some GOT
entries even when linking with -no-pie. This combination still causes test
failures because we are not updating the GOT entries in an incremental update
link.
