This commits the result of running gdb/copyright.py as per our Start
of New Year procedure...
gdb/ChangeLog
Update copyright year range in copyright header of all GDB files.

When running test-case gdb.base/info-shared.exp, I see in gdb.log:
...
Executing on host: \
gcc ... -fPIC -fpic -c -o info-shared-solib1.c.o info-shared-solib1.c
...
The -fPIC comes from the test-case:
...
if { [gdb_compile_shlib $srcfile_lib1 $binfile_lib1 \
[list additional_flags=-fPIC]] != "" } {
...
but the -fpic, which overrides the -fPIC comes from gdb_compile_shlib.
The proc gdb_compile_shlib adds the -fpic or similar dependent on platform
and compiler. However, in some cases it doesn't add anything, which is
probably why all those test-case pass -fPIC.
Fix this by removing -fPIC from all the calls to gdb_compile_shlib, and
ensuring that gdb_compile_shlib takes care of adding it, if required.
Tested on x86_64-linux.
gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog:

gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
|
|
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py
script.
Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid
copyright header
(gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc).
As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header
was sent to gcc-patches first.

gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files
|
|
This applies the second part of GDB's End of Year Procedure, which
updates the copyright year range in all of GDB's files.

This patch makes gdb_load_shlibs return the destination path of the
copied library. To make the procedure implementation and interface more
straightforward, it also changes it so that it accepts a single shared
library path at the time. Therefore, calls that are passed multiple
libraries:
gdb_load_shlibs $lib1 $lib2
must be changed to separate calls:
gdb_load_shlibs $lib1
gdb_load_shlibs $lib2
A subtle impact is the solib-search-path handling. In the former
version, solib-search-path is set using the directory of the first
passed lib (further calls overwrite the value). In the later version,
the directory of the library passed to the last call to gdb_load_shlibs
remnains. I don't think that's a problem in practice, since if we had
tests that needed multiple different paths in solib-search-path, they
wouldn't work in the first place.
Changed in v2:
* Split behavioural and rename changes in two separate patches.
gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog:
* lib/gdb.exp (gdb_load_shlibs): Accept a single argument. Return
result of gdb_remote_download.
* gdb.base/ctxobj.exp: Split gdb_load_shlibs call.

Two modifications:
1. The addition of 2013 to the copyright year range for every file;
2. The use of a single year range, instead of potentially multiple
year ranges, as approved by the FSF.

This patch adjusts the testing strategy used in a couple of testcases
where we are trying to print the value of a global variable defined
at multiple locations. The problem is that the actual value depends
on the platform. So instead of hard-coding the expected value in
the testcase script, we use local variables (in the inferior) holding
the correct value, and we compare the global variable's value with
the local variable's value.
gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog:
* gdb.base/ctxobj-f.c (GET_VERSION): Introduce local variable
and add comment.
* gdb.base/ctxobj-m.c (main): Rewrite, and add comment.
* gdb.base/ctxobj.exp: Insert breakpoint in ctxobj-f.c using
"STOP" marker. Adjust testing strategy to make it work on
all targets.
* gdb.base/print-file-var-main.c (main): Rewrite using local
variables and adjust get_version_2's return value check.
Add small comment.
* gdb.base/print-file-var.exp: Insert breakpoint using "STOP"
marker. Adjust testing strategy to make it work on all targets.
