This commit brings all the changes made by running gdb/copyright.py
as per GDB's Start of New Year Procedure.
For the avoidance of doubt, all changes in this commits were
performed by the script.

As follow-up to this discussion:
https://sourceware.org/pipermail/gdb-patches/2020-August/171385.html
... make runto_main not pass no-message to runto. This means that if we
fail to run to main, for some reason, we'll emit a FAIL. This is the
behavior we want the majority of (if not all) the time.
Without this, we rely on tests logging a failure if runto_main fails,
otherwise. They do so in a very inconsisteny mannet, sometimes using
"fail", "unsupported" or "untested". The messages also vary widly.
This patch removes all these messages as well.
Also, remove a few "fail" where we call runto (and not runto_main). by
default (without an explicit no-message argument), runto prints a
failure already. In two places, gdb.multi/multi-re-run.exp and
gdb.python/py-pp-registration.exp, remove "message" passed to runto.
This removes a few PASSes that we don't care about (but FAILs will still
be printed if we fail to run to where we want to). This aligns their
behavior with the rest of the testsuite.

When running test-case gdb.ada/mi_task_arg.exp with target board unix/-m32, I
run into:
...
(gdb) ^M
Expecting: ^(-stack-list-arguments 1[^M
]+)?(\^done,stack-args=\[ \
frame={level="0",args=\[\]}, \
frame={level="1",args=\[{name="<_task>",value="0x[0-9A-Fa-f]+"}\]}, \
frame={level="2",args=\[({name="self_id",value="0x[0-9A-Fa-f]+"})?\]},.*[^M
]+[(]gdb[)] ^M
[ ]*)
-stack-list-arguments 1^M
^done,stack-args=[ \
frame={level="0",args=[]}, \
frame={level="1",args=[{name="<_task>",value="0x808abf0"}]}, \
frame={level="2",args=[{name="self_id",value="<optimized out>"}]}, \
frame={level="3",args=[]},frame={level="4",args=[]}]^M
(gdb) ^M
FAIL: gdb.ada/mi_task_arg.exp: -stack-list-arguments 1 (unexpected output)
...
The problem is that we're expecting a $hex for the value of self_id, but
instead get <optimized out>.
Looking at the debug info for self_id:
...
<1><12a1f>: Abbrev Number: 84 (DW_TAG_subprogram)
<12a20> DW_AT_name : system__tasking__stages__task_wrapper
...
<2><12a35>: Abbrev Number: 61 (DW_TAG_formal_parameter)
<12a36> DW_AT_name : self_id
<12a40> DW_AT_location : 0x459e (location list)
...
it refers to location information here:
...
0000459e 08053060 080531ac (DW_OP_fbreg: 0)
000045aa 0805327c 080532a5 (DW_OP_fbreg: 0)
000045b6 08053320 08053324 (DW_OP_fbreg: 0)
...
while the pc used to retrieve the location information is 0x080531c5:
...
$ gdb -batch outputs/gdb.ada/mi_task_arg/task_switch \
-ex "break 57" -ex run -ex bt
...
#0 task_switch.break_me () at task_switch.adb:57
#1 0x0804aaae in task_switch.caller (<_task>=0x808abf0) \
at task_switch.adb:51
#2 0x080531c5 in system.tasking.stages.task_wrapper \
(self_id=<optimized out>) at s-tassta.adb:1295
...
which indeed falls outside of the ranges listed in the location info.
Fix this by accepting <optimized out> as valid value of self_id.
Tested on x86_64-linux.

This adds missing skip_ada_tests checks to Ada testcases, using the

gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
|
|
On openSUSE Leap 15.1, we have:
...
FAIL: gdb.ada/mi_task_arg.exp: -stack-list-arguments 1 (unexpected output)
...
The problem is that the stack-list-arguments command prints a frame argument
'self_id' for function system.tasking.stages.task_wrapper:
...
frame={level="2",args=[{name="self_id",value="0x12345678"}]
...
where none (args=[]) is expected.
The frame argument is in fact correct. The FAIL does not show for say, fedora
30, because there the executable uses the system.tasking.stages.task_wrapper
from /lib64/libgnarl-9.so. Adding "additional_flags=-bargs
additional_flags=-shared additional_flags=-largs" to the flags argument of
gdb_compile_ada gives us the same PASS, but installing libada7-debuginfo gets
us the same FAIL again.
Fix the FAIL by allowing the 'self_id' argument.
Tested on x86_64-linux.

This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py
script.
Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid
copyright header
(gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc).
As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header
was sent to gcc-patches first.

This applies the second part of GDB's End of Year Procedure, which
updates the copyright year range in all of GDB's files.
gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files.

The following patch is based on the previous patch i sent and handles cases of
test names that start with an uppercase letter. Test names should start with
lowercase unless it starts with the name of a technology, architecture, ISA
etc.
This first patch addresses cases of test names output explicitly via xfail,
kfail, kpass, fail, pass, unsupported, untested and also names set with the
pattern "set test" and "set testname".

|
gdb/ChangeLog:
Update year range in copyright notice of all files.
|
|
|
|
Two modifications:
1. The addition of 2013 to the copyright year range for every file;
2. The use of a single year range, instead of potentially multiple
year ranges, as approved by the FSF.

In GDB/MI mode, trying to print the arguments of the frame corresponding
to the body of a task ("-stack-list-arguments 1") causes the debugger to
crash.
This is because the compiler adds an implicit argument to that task body
called "_task". mi/mi-cmd-stack.c:list_args_or_locals, which is
responsible for printing the value of our arguments, finds that our
"_task" symbol is an argument, and thus tries to fing the non-argument
equivalent:
if (SYMBOL_IS_ARGUMENT (sym))
sym2 = lookup_symbol (SYMBOL_NATURAL_NAME (sym),
block, VAR_DOMAIN,
(int *) NULL);
Unfortunately, it tries using the natural name, which doesn't always
work for Ada parameters, in particular those who are internally-
generated. In our case, The "_task" parameter's natural name is
"<_task>", and that symbol does not exist. So sym2 is NULL, thus
causing the crash a little later on when trying to dereference it.
We should be using the symbol linkage name in this case, the same
way iterate_over_block_arg_vars already does.
gdb/ChangeLog:
* mi/mi-cmd-stack.c (list_args_or_locals): For argument symbols,
use SYMBOL_LINKAGE_NAME to find the corresponding non-argument
symbol. Add assertion that sym2 is never NULL.
gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog:
* gdb.ada/mi_task_arg: New testcase.
