2024-01-12Update copyright year range in header of all files managed by GDBAndrew Burgess1-1/+1
This commit is the result of the following actions: - Running gdb/copyright.py to update all of the copyright headers to include 2024, - Manually updating a few files the copyright.py script told me to update, these files had copyright headers embedded within the file, - Regenerating gdbsupport/Makefile.in to refresh it's copyright date, - Using grep to find other files that still mentioned 2023. If these files were updated last year from 2022 to 2023 then I've updated them this year to 2024. I'm sure I've probably missed some dates. Feel free to fix them up as you spot them.
2023-12-20Complete use of unique_ptr with notif_event and stop_replyPedro Alves1-5/+5
We already use unique_ptr with notif_event and stop_reply in some places around the remote target, but not fully. There are several code paths that still use raw pointers. This commit makes all of the ownership of these objects tracked by unique pointers, making the lifetime flow much more obvious, IMHO. I notice that it fixes a leak -- in remote_notif_stop_ack, We weren't destroying the stop_reply object if it was of TARGET_WAITKIND_IGNORE kind. 2023-01-20Constify notif_clientTom Tromey1-8/+8
It seems to me that a notif_client is read-only, so this patch changes the code to use "const" everywhere.
2023-01-01Update copyright year range in header of all files managed by GDBJoel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commit is the result of running the gdb/copyright.py script, which automated the update of the copyright year range for all source files managed by the GDB project to be updated to include year 2023.
2022-01-01Automatic Copyright Year update after running gdb/copyright.pyJoel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commit brings all the changes made by running gdb/copyright.py as per GDB's Start of New Year Procedure. For the avoidance of doubt, all changes in this commits were performed by the script.
2021-01-01Update copyright year range in all GDB filesJoel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commits the result of running gdb/copyright.py as per our Start of New Year procedure... gdb/ChangeLog Update copyright year range in copyright header of all GDB files.

2019-04-19Use std::list for remote_notif_state::notif_queueTom Tromey1-14/+16
This changes remote_notif_state::notif_queue to be a std::list and updates all the uses. gdb/ChangeLog 2019-04-19 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com> * remote.c (remote_target): Use delete. * remote-notif.h: Include <list>, not "common/queue.h". (notif_client_p): Remove typedef. (remote_notif_state): Add constructor, destructor, initializer. <notif_queue>: Now a std::list. (remote_notif_state_xfree): Don't declare. * remote-notif.c (remote_notif_process, handle_notification) (remote_notif_state_allocate): Update. (~remote_notif_state): Rename from remote_notif_state_xfree.
2019-03-06C++ify remote notification codeTom Tromey1-6/+9
This C++ifies the remote notification code -- replacing function pointers with virtual methods and using unique_ptr. This allows for the removal of some cleanups. 2019-03-06 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com> * remote.c (struct stop_reply_deleter): Remove. (stop_reply_up): Update. (struct stop_reply): Derive from notif_event. Don't typedef. <regcache>: Now a std::vector. (stop_reply_xfree): Remove. (stop_reply::~stop_reply): Rename from stop_reply_dtr. (remote_notif_stop_alloc_reply): Return a unique_ptr. Use new. (remote_target::discard_pending_stop_replies): Use delete. (remote_target::remote_parse_stop_reply): Update. (remote_target::process_stop_reply): Update. * remote-notif.h (struct notif_event): Add virtual destructor. Remove "dtr" member. (struct notif_client) <alloc_event>: Return a unique_ptr. (notif_event_xfree): Don't declare. (notif_event_up): New typedef. * remote-notif.c (remote_notif_ack, remote_notif_parse): Update. (notif_event_xfree, do_notif_event_xfree): Remove. (remote_notif_state_xfree): Update.

2019-01-01Update copyright year range in all GDB files.Joel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
2018-05-22remote: one struct remote_state per struct remote_targetPedro Alves1-6/+15
'struct remote_state' today contains per-connection state, however there's only a single global instance of that type. In order to support multiple connections, we must have one such object per connection. Thus this patch eliminates the 'remote_state' global in favor of having a remote_state instance per remote_target instance. The get_remote_state free function is eliminated as well, by making it a remote_target method instead. The patch then fixes the fallout by making all free functions that refer to get_remote_state() directly or indirectly be methods of remote_target too. Likewise, remote-fileio.c and remote-notif.c routines are parameterized with a remote_target pointer too, so they can call into the right remote_target instance. References to the global 'get_remote_state ()->remote_desc' to tell whether the remote target is open (!= nullptr) must be replaced with something else: - Command implementations use a new get_current_remote_target free function. - remote_target::open_1 checks the exception type instead. Finally, remote_target and extended_remote_target are made heap-allocated targets. As with the earlier core target patches, it still won't be possible to have more than one remote_target instance in practice, but this puts us closer. gdb/ChangeLog: 2018-05-22 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * remote-fileio.c (remote_fileio_reply, remote_fileio_ioerror) (remote_fileio_badfd, remote_fileio_return_errno) (remote_fileio_return_success, remote_fileio_func_open) (remote_fileio_func_open, remote_fileio_func_close) (remote_fileio_func_read, remote_fileio_func_write) (remote_fileio_func_lseek, remote_fileio_func_rename) (remote_fileio_func_unlink, remote_fileio_func_stat) (remote_fileio_func_fstat, remote_fileio_func_gettimeofday) (remote_fileio_func_isatty, remote_fileio_func_system): Add remote_target parameter. 2013-10-04Move pending_event to remote_notif_state.Yao Qi1-7/+21
This patch moves pending_event to remote_notif_state. All pending events are destroyed in remote_notif_state_xfree. However, discard_pending_stop_replies release pending event too, so the pending event of stop notification is released twice, we need some refactor here. We add a new function discard_pending_stop_replies_in_queue which only discard events in stop_reply_queue, and let remote_notif_state_xfree release pending event for all notif_client. After this change, discard_pending_stop_replies is only attached to ifnerior_exit observer, so the INF can't be NULL any more. The NULL checking is removed too. gdb: 2013-10-04 Yao Qi <yao@codesourcery.com> * remote-notif.h (REMOTE_NOTIF_ID): New enum.
