This patch adds support for running gdb natively on OpenRISC linux.
Debugging support is provided via the linux PTRACE interface which is
mostly handled by GDB genric code. This patch provides the logic of how
to read and write the ptrace registers between linux and GDB.
Single stepping is privided in a separate patch.

As discussed previously, a.out support is now quite deprecated, and in
some cases removed, in both Binutils itself and NetBSD, so this legacy
default makes little sense. `netbsdelf*` and `netbsdaout*` still work
allowing the user to be explicit about there choice. Additionally, the
configure script warns about the change as Nick Clifton requested.
One possible concern was the status of NetBSD on NS32K, where only a.out
was supported. But per [1] NetBSD has removed support, and if it were to
come back, it would be with ELF. The binutils implementation is
therefore marked obsolete, per the instructions in the last message.
With that patch and this one applied, I have confirmed the following:
--target=i686-unknown-netbsd
--target=i686-unknown-netbsdelf
builds completely
--target=i686-unknown-netbsdaout
properly fails because target is deprecated.
--target=vax-unknown-netbsdaout builds completely except for gas, where
the target is deprecated.

With this patch in place it is possible to build a GDB that
can run on ARC (GNU/Linux) hosts for debugging ARC targets.
The "arc-linux-nat.c" is a rather small one that mostly deals
with registers and a few thread related hooks.
v2 [1]:
- Remove "void" from the input of "_initialize_arc_linux_nat ()"
[1] Tom's remark after the first patch
https://sourceware.org/pipermail/gdb-patches/2020-November/173223.html
gdb/ChangeLog:
* Makefile.in (ALLDEPFILES): Add arc-linux-nat.c.
* configure.host (host to gdb names): Add arc*-*-linux*.
* configure.nat (gdb_host_cpu): Add arc.
* arc-linux-nat.c: New.

Here's the patch corresponding to the Solaris 10 obsoletion announcement
https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb/2019-10/msg00008.html
Right now it doesn't remove any code, but obviates the need to test on
that ancient platform. Besides, some of the patches I have in my queue
would require different solutions for Solaris 10 and 11.
There are a few comment-only references that I've kept since they are
still correct as is, even when GDB doesn't support Solaris 10 any
longer. The only code fragment I've left in is support for
/proc/<pid/path/a.out in procfs.c (procfs_target::pid_to_exec_file):
while current Solaris 11 updates provide /proc/<pid>/execname, that
wasn't present in Solaris 11.0 and still isn't in current Illumos and I
didn't want to make live harder for them.
Tested on i386-pc-solaris2.10 (obsolete configuration rejected) and
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu x sparc64-solaris2.10 (likewise)
resp. x86_64-pc-linux-gnu x sparcv9-solaris2.11 (still builds; I'm using
the sparcv9 form for 64-bit SPARC customary on Solaris in the
MAINTAINERS file now).
* NEWS (Changes since GDB 8.3): Document Solaris 10 removal.
* configure.host: Mark *-*-solaris2.10* obsolete.
* configure.tgt: Mark Solaris < 11 obsolete.
* MAINTAINERS (Target Instruction Set Architectures) <sparc>:
Update target triplet.

This patch implements removal of Cell/B.E. support, including
- Support for the spu-*-* target
- Support for native stand-alone SPU debugging
- Support for integrated debugging of combined PPU/SPU applications
- Remote debugging (gdbserver) support for all the above.
The patch also removes the TARGET_OBJECT_SPU target object type,
as this is available only on Cell/B.E. targets, including
- Native Linux support
- Core file support (including core file generation)
- Remote target support, including removal of the qXfer:spu:read
and qXfer:spu:write remote protocal packets and associated
support in gdbserver.

Support for m88k was fully removed from bfd, which broke gdb
--enable-targets=all builds:
> gdb/m88k-tdep.c: In function void _initialize_m88k_tdep():
> gdb/m88k-tdep.c:867:21: error: bfd_arch_m88k was not declared in this scope
> gdbarch_register (bfd_arch_m88k, m88k_gdbarch_init, NULL);
There's no point in keeping GDB support for OpenBSD/m88k with no bfd
support, so this commit simply removes the port.

Given that GCC has obsoleted/removed support for Solaris 9 in GCC 4.9/5 in 2013:
https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.9/changes.html
https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2013-05/msg00728.html
and the last gdb version that can be compiled with gcc 4.9 is 7.12.1 only when
configured with --disable-build-with-cxx, it's time to obsolete/remove support
for Solaris < 10.
This patch does this, simplifying configure.nat along the way (only a single
sol2 configuration with variants for i386 and sparc).
Some configure checks for older Solaris versions can go, too, and the check
for libthread_db.so.1 removed:
* Since Solaris 10, dlopen has moved to libc and libdl.so is just a
filter on ld.so.1, so no need to check.
* $RDYNAMIC is already handled above (and is a no-op with Solaris ld
anyway).
Both proc-service.c and sol-thread.c lose support for (Solaris-only)
PROC_SERVICE_IS_OLD.
The attached revised patch has been tested on sparcv9-sun-solaris2.10,
sparcv9-sun-solaris2.11.4, amd64-pc-solaris2.10, amd64-pc-solaris2.11.4,
and x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.
I've also started an i386-pc-solaris2.9 build to check that it really
stops as expected.

When `info float` is used on an AMD64 system, GDB prints
floating-point values of x87 registers with raw contents like
0x361a867a8e0527397ce0 or 0xc4f988454a1ddd3cfdab wrongly.
This happens due to truncation to double, after which the former
becomes 0.0, and the latter becomes negative infinity. This is caused
by failed detection of x86-64 host, which results in setting
gdb_host_{float,double,long_double}_format to zeros.
This commit fixes this misdetection, and adds a test to make sure
future commits don't introduce a regression here.

IIUC it is a pre-requisite for IPv6 support, some UNICes do not support
getaddrinfo required for IPv6. But coincidentally such UNICes are no longer
really supported by GDB. Therefore it was concluded we can remove all such
UNICes and then we can implement IPv6 easily with getaddrinfo.

This commit does most of the mechanical removal. IOW, the easy part.
procfs.c isn't touched beyond removing a couple obvious bits that are
guarded by a couple macros defined in config/alpha/nm-osf3.h. Going
beyond that for procfs.c & co would be a harder excision that
potentially affects Solaris.
Some comments in the generic alpha code ABIs that may still be
relevant and I wouldn't know what to do with them. That can always be
done on a separate pass, preferably by someone who can test on alpha.
A couple other spots have references to OSF/Tru64 and related files
being removed, but it felt like removing them would make things worse,
not better. We can revisit those when we next need to touch that
code.
I didn't remove a reference to osf in testsuite/lib/future.exp, as I
believe that code is imported from DejaGNU.
Built and tested on x86_64 Fedora 20, with --enable-targets=all.

This does most of the mechanical removal. IOW, the easy part.
This doesn't touch procfs.c as that'd be a harder excision,
potentially affecting Solaris.
mips-tdep.c is left alone. E.g., I didn't delete the GDB_OSABI_IRIX
enum value, nor references to it in mips-tdep.c. Some comments
mentioning IRIX ABIs may still be relevant and I wouldn't know what to

As suggested before, rename the S/390-related source files (tdep and nat)
such that "-linux-" occurs in the file name, like with other GNU/Linux
targets. Since no other operating system is currently supported by GDB
on this architecture, this isn't strictly necessary. But the old names
sometimes caused GDB contributors to miss these files when performing a
change that affects all GNU/Linux targets. The latest such incident was
observed here:
