2019-07-09Rename common to gdbsupportTom Tromey1-257/+0
This is the next patch in the ongoing series to move gdbsever to the top level. This patch just renames the "common" directory. The idea is to do this move in two parts: first rename the directory (this patch), then move the directory to the top. This approach makes the patches a bit more tractable. I chose the name "gdbsupport" for the directory. However, as this patch was largely written by sed, we could pick a new name without too much difficulty. 2019-02-07Normalize include guards in gdbTom Tromey1-3/+3
While working on my other scripts to deal with gdb headers, I noticed that some files were missing include guards. I wrote a script to add the missing ones, but found that using the obvious names for the guards ran into clashes -- for example, gdb/nat/linux-nat.h used "LINUX_NAT_H", but this was also the script's choice for gdb/linux-nat.h. So, I changed the script to normalize all include guards in gdb. This patch is the result. 2019-01-01Update copyright year range in all GDB files.Joel Brobecker1-1/+1
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files.

Eclipse CDT now supports enabling execution recording using two methods (full and btrace) and both formats for btrace (bts and pt). In the event that recording is enabled behind the back of the GUI (by the user on the command line, or a script), we need to know which method/format are being used, so it can be correctly reflected in the interface. This patch adds this information to the =record-started async record. Fix the ARI warning about the use of unsigned long long. We can't use ULONGEST as this is defined unsigned long on 64-bit systems. This will result in a compile error when storing a pointer to an unsigned long long structure field (declared in perf_event.h as __u64) in a ULONGEST * variable. Allow the size of the branch trace ring buffer to be defined by the user. The specified buffer size will be used when BTS tracing is enabled for new threads. The obtained buffer size may differ from the requested size. The actual buffer size for the current thread is shown in the "info record" command. Add a struct to describe the branch trace configuration and use it for enabling branch tracing. The user will be able to set configuration fields for each tracing format to be used for new threads. The actual configuration that is active for a given thread will be shown in the "info record" command. At the moment, the configuration struct only contains a format field that is set to the only available format. The format is the only configuration option that can not be set via set commands.
