This has better typesafety, avoids a function pointer indirection,
and can benefit from inlining.

Andreas Schwab and John Baldwin pointed out some bugs in the header
sorting patch; and I noticed that the output was not correct when
limited to a subset of files (a bug in my script).
So, I'm reverting the patch. I may try again after fixing the issues
pointed out.

This patch sorts the include files for the files [a-f]*.[chyl].
The patch was written by a script.
Tested by the buildbot.
I will follow up with patches to sort the remaining files, by sorting
a subset, testing them, and then checking them in.

This somewhat C++-ifies bcache. It replaces bcache_xmalloc and
bcache_xfree with constructors; changes some functions into methods;
and changes various structures to include a bcache directly (as
opposed to a pointer to a bcache).
Tested by the buildbot.

This patch builds on the previous by enabling the `new' multidictionary
API. A lot of the hunks are simply textual replacements of "dict_"
with "mdict_" and similar transformations.
A word of warning, even with the use of multidictionaries, the code
still does not satisfactorily fix the reported problems with gdb/23712
(or gdb/23010). We still have additional changes to make before that
happens.
gdb/ChangeLog:
PR gdb/23712
PR symtab/23010
* dictionary.h (struct dictionary): Replace declaration with
multidictionary.
(dict_create_hashed, dict_create_hashed_expandable)
(dict_create_linear, dict_create_linear_expandable)
(dict_free, dict_add_symbol, dict_add_pending, dict_empty)
(dict_iterator_first, dict_iterator_next, dict_iter_match_first)
(dict_iter_match_next, dict_size): Rename to "mdict_" versions
taking multidictionary argument.
[ALL_DICT_SYMBOLS]: Update for multidictionary.
* block.h (struct block) <dict>: Change to multidictionary
and rename `multidict'.
* block.c, buildsym.c, jit.c, mdebugread.c, objfiles.c,
symmisc.c: Update all dictionary references to multidictionary.

This removes ALL_COMPUNIT_FILETABS, replacing its uses with ranged for
loops.
Because this is still used in the ALL_OBJFILE_FILETABS macro, in some
places a declaration had to be removed or renamed to avoid shadowing.
gdb/ChangeLog
2019-01-09 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com>
* symtab.h (ALL_COMPUNIT_FILETABS): Remove.
(compunit_filetabs): New.
* symtab.c (iterate_over_some_symtabs, find_pc_sect_line): Use
compunit_filetabs.
(info_sources_command, make_source_files_completion_list): Remove
declaration.
* symmisc.c (print_objfile_statistics, dump_objfile)
(maintenance_print_symbols): Remove declaration.
(maintenance_info_symtabs): Use compunit_filetabs.
(maintenance_info_line_tables): Likewise.
* source.c (select_source_symtab): Change local variable name.
(forget_cached_source_info_for_objfile): Remove declaration.
* objfiles.h (ALL_OBJFILE_FILETABS): Use compunit_filetabs.
* objfiles.c (objfile_relocate1): Remove declaration.
* mi/mi-cmd-file.c (mi_cmd_file_list_exec_source_files): Remove
declaration.
* maint.c (count_symtabs_and_blocks): Use compunit_filetabs.
* coffread.c (coff_symtab_read): Remove declaration.
* buildsym.c (buildsym_compunit::end_symtab_with_blockvector): Use
compunit_filetabs.

This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py
script.
Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid
copyright header
(gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc).
As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header
was sent to gcc-patches first.
gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files.

This renames all the remaining members of buildsym_compunit to start
with "m_" to follow the general naming convention.
gdb/ChangeLog
2018-07-20 Keith Seitz <keiths@redhat.com>
* buildsym.h (struct buildsym_compunit) <m_objfile, m_subfiles,
m_main_subfile, m_comp_dir, m_producer, m_debugformat,
m_compunit_symtab, m_language>: Add "m_" prefix.
Update all uses.
* buildsym.c: Update all uses.

This introduces a new header, buildsym-legacy.h, and changes all the
symbol readers to use it. The idea is to put the function-based
interface, that relies on the buildsym_compunit global, into a
separate header. Then when a symbol reader is updated to use the new
interface, it can simply not include buildsym-legacy.h, so it's easy
to be sure that the new API is used everywhere.
gdb/ChangeLog
2018-07-20 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com>
* xcoffread.c: Include buildsym-legacy.h.
* windows-nat.c: Include buildsym-legacy.h.
* stabsread.c: Include buildsym-legacy.h.
* mdebugread.c: Include buildsym-legacy.h.
* buildsym-legacy.h: New file.

buildsym-legacy.c.
* Makefile.in (HFILES_NO_SRCDIR): Add buildsym-legacy.h.

This moves struct buildsym_compunit to buildsym.h. Now that the
members are private, and it no longer affects any global state in
buildsym.c, an instance can be used directly for symtab creation.
gdb/ChangeLog
2018-07-20 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com>
* buildsym.h (struct buildsym_compunit): Move from buildsym.c.
* buildsym.c (struct buildsym_compunit): Move to buildsym.h.
(buildsym_compunit::buildsym_compunit)
(buildsym_compunit::~buildsym_compunit)
(buildsym_compunit::get_macro_table): Define.

This patch arranges for the remaining buildsym global --
buildsym_compunit -- to only be cleared by the wrapper functions, not
by methods on struct buildsym_compunit. In the process,
reset_symtab_globals is removed.
gdb/ChangeLog
2018-07-20 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com>
* buildsym.c (reset_symtab_globals): Remove.
(buildsym_compunit::end_symtab_from_static_block): Update.

This adds many methods to buildsym_compunit and makes the data members

The complaint system seems to allow for multiple different complaint
topics. However, in practice only symfile_complaints has ever been
defined. Seeing that complaints.c dates to 1992, and that no new
complaints have been added in the intervening years, I think it is
reasonable to admit that complaints are specifically related to
debuginfo reading.
This patch removes symfile_complaints and updates all the callers.

Currently, we have a mess of symbol name hashing/comparison routines.
There's msymbol_hash for mangled names, and dict_hash and
msymbol_hash_iw for demangled names. Then there's strcmp_iw,
strcmp_iw_ordered and Ada's full_match/wild_match, which all have to
agree with the hashing routines. That's why dict_hash is really about
Ada names. From the inconsistency department, minimal symbol hashing
doesn't go via dict_hash, so Ada's wild matching can't ever work with
minimal symbols.
This patch starts fixing this, by doing two things:
#1 - adds a language vector method to let each language decide how to
compute a symbol name hash.
#2 - makes dictionaries know the language of the symbols they hold,
and then use the dictionaries language to decide which hashing
method to use.
For now, this is just scaffolding, since all languages install the
default method. The series will make C++ install its own hashing
method later on, and will add per-language symbol name comparison
routines too.
This patch was originally based on a patch that Keith wrote for the
libcc1/C++ WIP support.

When sorting pending blocks in end_symtab_get_static_block, blocks
with the same starting address must remain in the original order
to preserve inline function caller/callee relationships.
The original code seems to have implicitly relied on the fact that the
glibc qsort implemention actually (in the common case) provides a stable
sort, although this is not guaranteed by the standard. But the GNU
libstdc++ std::sort implementation is *not* stable.
gdb/ChangeLog:

Most allocation functions (if not all) return a void* pointing to the
allocated memory. In C++, we need to add an explicit cast when
assigning the result to a pointer to another type (which is the case
more often than not).
The content of this patch is taken from Pedro's branch, from commit
"(mostly) auto-generated patch to insert casts needed for C++". I
validated that the changes make sense and manually reflowed the code to
make it respect the coding style. I also found multiple places where I
could use XNEW/XNEWVEC/XRESIZEVEC/etc.
Thanks a lot to whoever did that automated script to insert casts, doing
it completely by hand would have taken a ridiculous amount of time.
Only files built on x86 with --enable-targets=all are modified. This
means that all other -nat.c files are untouched and will have to be
dealt with later by using appropiate compilers. Or maybe we can try to
build them with a regular g++ just to know where to add casts, I don't
know.
I built-tested this with --enable-targets=all and reg-tested.
Here's the changelog entry, which was not too bad to make despite the
size, thanks to David Malcom's script. I fixed some bits by hand, but
there might be some wrong parts left (hopefully not).
