2020-04-29xtensa: gas: support optional immediate simcall parameterMax Filippov1-0/+20
Starting with RH.0 release Xtensa ISA adds immediate parameter to simcall opcode. 2020-04-22xtensa: fix PR ld/25861Max Filippov1-3/+9
Introduce new relaxations XTENSA_PDIFF{8,16,32} for positive differences (subtracted symbol precedes diminished symbol) and XTENSA_NDIFF{8,16,32} for negative differences (subtracted symbol follows diminished symbol). Don't generate XTENSA_DIFF relocations in the assembler, generate XTENSA_PDIFF or XTENSA_NDIFF based on relative symbol position. Handle XTENSA_DIFF in BFD for compatibility with old object files. This large patch removes the unnecessary bfd parameter from various bfd section macros and functions. The bfd is hardly ever used and if needed for the bfd_set_section_* or bfd_rename_section functions can be found via section->owner except for the com, und, abs, and ind std_section special sections. Those sections shouldn't be modified anyway. The patch also removes various bfd_get_section_<field> macros, replacing their use with bfd_section_<field>, and adds bfd_set_section_lma. I've also fixed a minor bug in gas where compressed section renaming was done directly rather than calling bfd_rename_section. Provide literal position at the beginning of each section for literal space reserved by relaxations when text-section-literals or auto-litpools options are used. Remove code that adds fill frag to the literal section for every .literal_position directive to avoid creation of empty literal sections. Loop opcode relaxation that uses addi/addmi doesn't work well with other relaxations that may cause code movement. Instead of encoding fixed loop end offset in the relaxed sequence use l32r or a pair of const16 to load loop end address. This file was never supposed to be widely used. The fact that it has found its way into many gas files led to bugs, typically when code expecting a symbolS* to point at a struct symbol is presented with a struct local_symbol. Also, commit 158184ac9e changed these structs in 2012 but didn't catch all places where symbol bsym was being used to test for a local_symbol. * Makefile.am (HFILES): Delete struc-symbol.h. * doc/internals.texi: Delete struc-symbol.h reference and out of date local symbol description. * struc-symbol.h: Delete. It is currently not possible to correctly match .xt.prop information for sections with identical VMA. Allow creation of separate property sections in the BFD. add_jump_to_trampoline assumes that jump instruction is in slot 0, when it's in other slot that results in fixup that references NULL symbol, which results in segfault later in xtensa_make_cached_fixup. Search for the non-NULL symbol in the tc_frag_data.slot_symbols and check that there's exactly one such slot. xtensa_relax_frag for RELAX_TRAMPOLINE reassigns fixup from the original instruction with jump to generated jump in the trampoline frag, but does not fix its fx_r_type or fx_size. That results in "undecodable fix" or "fixup not contained within frag" error messages during relaxation. 2016-03-31make xtensa_section_rename () take const char *Trevor Saunders1-3/+3
Xtensa uses it in several macros passing it a literal string, so its convenient for the argument type to be const char *. This is mostly just adding const in many places, however there are a couple interesting things. We need to add casts in tc-s390.c and tc-cris.c because they have functions that assign to input_line_pointer an argument that sometimes comes from md_parse_option. Presumably this is safe because those targets never pass literals to md_parse_option (), but this code should probably be improved in the future.
