* thread.c (thread_id_make_value): Make a value representing the
current thread.
(_initialize_thread): Create $_thread.
* gdb.texinfo (Debugging Programs with Multiple Threads): Describe
$_thread.
* gdb.threads/thread-specific.exp: Add tests of $_thread.
