        * aclocal.m4: add EXEEXT setting rule
        * configure.in: call it
        * configure: regenerate
        * Makefile.in: pepper with EXEEXTs in appropriate places,
        set SHELL = @SHELL@ for those lame hosts that don't have a /bin/sh
