* aclocal.m4 (AC_PROG_CC): Remove local definition.
(BFD_BINARY_FOPEN): Require AC_CANONICAL_SYSTEM.
(BFD_NEED_DECLARATION): New function.
* configure.in: Use BFD_NEED_DECLARATION.
* configure: Rebuild with autoconf 2.6.
