2020-04-19i386: Remove unneeded assignments when triggering SSE exceptionsUros Bizjak2-6/+5
According to "Intel 64 and IA32 Arch SDM, Vol. 3": "Because SIMD floating-point exceptions are precise and occur immediately, the situation does not arise where an x87 FPU instruction, a WAIT/FWAIT instruction, or another SSE/SSE2/SSE3 instruction will catch a pending unmasked SIMD floating-point exception." Remove unneeded assignments to volatile memory. libgcc/ChangeLog: * config/i386/sfp-exceptions.c (__sfp_handle_exceptions) [__SSE_MATH__]: Remove unneeded assignments to volatile memory. libatomic/ChangeLog: * config/x86/fenv.c (__atomic_feraiseexcept) [__SSE_MATH__]: Remove unneeded assignments to volatile memory. libgfortran/ChangeLog: * config/fpu-387.h (local_feraiseexcept) [__SSE_MATH__]: Remove unneeded assignments to volatile memory.

2018-03-09S/390: libatomic: Fix 16 byte atomic exchangeAndreas Krebbel3-0/+79
The compiler builtin will use the hardware instruction cdsg if the memory operand is properly aligned and will fall back to the library call otherwise. In case the compiler for one part is able to detect that the location is aligned and fails to do so for another usage of the hw instruction and the sw fall back would be mixed on the same memory location. To avoid this the library fall back also has to use the hardware instruction if possible. libatomic/ChangeLog: 2018-03-09 Andreas Krebbel <krebbel@linux.vnet.ibm.com> * config/s390/exch_n.c: New file. * configure.tgt: Add the config directory for s390. 2017-10-20[arm] Fix architecture selection when building libatomic with automatic FPU ↵Richard Earnshaw3-2/+8
selection Libatomic builds a few functions for Arm with an explicit -march option. This option does not specify an FPU, which can lead to problems when targeting a hard-float or softfp environment since the architecture appears to be incompatible with the selected ABI. The fix is simple enough, just add +fp (the minimum floating point option) to the architecture. We don't use anything from the FP architecture, so it shouldn't really change anything; and if we are building for -mfloat-abi=soft the canonicalization process will remove the unnecessary fp attributes anyway. * Makefile.am: (IFUNC_OPTIONS): Set the architecture to -march=armv7-a+fp on Linux/Arm. * Makefile.in: Regenerated. 2015-11-18Add out-of-line versions of some <stdatomic.h> functions (PR c/65083).Joseph Myers8-6/+136
PR c/65083 notes that some functions in <stdatomic.h> are normal functions, not generic functions, and so need to have out-of-line copies that can be called when macro expansion is suppressed (unlike the generic functions where DR#419 makes it undefined if you suppress a macro expansion). This patch adds such out-of-line definitions in libatomic for those six functions, at a new LIBATOMIC_1.2 symbol version, as trivial wrappers to the <stdatomic.h> macros, along with declarations of those functions in <stdatomic.h>. Tests are added that are based on the corresponding tests for the macros, but with parentheses around the function names to force the out-of-line functions to be used. Bootstrapped with no regressions on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu. gcc: * ginclude/stdatomic.h (atomic_thread_fence, atomic_signal_fence) (atomic_flag_test_and_set, atomic_flag_test_and_set_explicit) (atomic_flag_clear, atomic_flag_clear_explicit): Declare as functions before defining as macros. gcc/testsuite: * gcc.dg/atomic/stdatomic-fence-2.c, gcc.dg/atomic/stdatomic-flag-2.c: New tests. libatomic: * fence.c, flag.c: New files. * Makefile.am (libatomic_la_SOURCES): Add fence.c and flag.c. * Makefile.in: Regenerate. * configure.ac (libtool_VERSION): Change to 3:0:2. * configure: Regenerate. * libatomic.map (LIBATOMIC_1.2): New symbol version. 2015-10-09Testsuite: add dg-{begin|end}-multiline-output commandsDavid Malcolm2-0/+6
