This patch implements several C++ specific mapping capabilities introduced for
OpenMP 5.0, including implicit mapping of this[:1] for non-static member
functions, zero-length array section mapping of pointer-typed members,
lambda captured variable access in target regions, and use of lambda objects
inside target regions.
Several adjustments to the C/C++ front-ends to allow more member-access syntax
as valid is also included.

This patch implements relaxing the requirements when a map with the implicit
attribute encounters an overlapping existing map. As the OpenMP 5.0 spec
describes on page 320, lines 18-27 (and 5.1 spec, page 352, lines 13-22):
"If a single contiguous part of the original storage of a list item with an
implicit data-mapping attribute has corresponding storage in the device data
environment prior to a task encountering the construct that is associated with
the map clause, only that part of the original storage will have corresponding
storage in the device data environment as a result of the map clause."

In OpenMP 5.1, num_teams clause can accept either one expression as before,
but it in that case changed meaning, rather than create <= expression
teams it is now create == expression teams. Or it accepts two expressions
separated by :, with the meaning that the first is low bound and second upper
bound on how many teams should be created. The other ways to set number of
teams are upper bounds with lower bound of 1.
The following patch does parsing of this for C/C++. For host teams, we
actually don't need to do anything further right now, we always create
(pretend to create) exactly the requested number of teams, so we can just
evaluate and throw away the lower bound for now.
For teams nested in target, we don't guarantee that though and further
work will be needed.
In particular, omplower now turns the teams part of:
struct S { S (); S (const S &); ~S (); int s; };
void bar (S &, S &);
int baz ();
_Pragma ("omp declare target to (baz)");
void
foo (void)
{
S a, b;
#pragma omp target private (a) map (b)
{
#pragma omp teams firstprivate (b) num_teams (baz ())
{
bar (a, b);
}
}
}
into:
retval.0 = baz ();
retval.1 = retval.0;
{
unsigned int retval.3;
struct S * D.2549;
struct S b;
retval.3 = (unsigned int) retval.1;
D.2549 = .omp_data_i->b;
S::S (&b, D.2549);
#pragma omp teams num_teams(retval.1) firstprivate(b) shared(a)
__builtin_GOMP_teams (retval.3, 0);
{
bar (&a, &b);
}
S::~S (&b);
#pragma omp return(nowait)
}
IMHO we want a new API, say GOMP_teams3 which will take 3 arguments
instead of 2 (the lower and upper bounds from num_teams and thread_limit)
and will return a bool whether it should do the teams body or not.
And, we should add right before outermost {} above
while (__builtin_GOMP_teams3 ((unsigned) retval.1, (unsigned) retval.1, 0))
and remove the __builtin_GOMP_teams call. The current function performs
exit equivalent (at least on NVPTX) which seems bad because that means
the destructors of e.g. private variables on target aren't invoked, and
at the current placement neither destructors of the already constructed
privatized variables in teams.
I'll do this next on the compiler side, but I'm afraid I'll need help
with the nvptx and amdgcn implementations. E.g. for nvptx, we won't be
able to use %ctaid.x . I think ideal would be to use a .shared
integer variable for the omp_get_team_num value, but I don't have any
experience with that, are .shared variables zero initialized by default,
or do they have random value at start? PTX docs say they aren't initializable.

made it uint32_t and prepared the operator overloads for an

order(reproducible:concurrent)
While OpenMP 5.1 implies order(concurrent) is the same thing as
order(reproducible:concurrent), this is going to change in OpenMP 5.2, where
essentially order(concurrent) means nothing is stated on whether it is
reproducible or unconstrained (and is determined by other means, e.g. for/do
with schedule static or runtime with static being selected is implicitly
reproducible, distribute with dist_schedule static is implicitly reproducible,
loop is implicitly reproducible) and when the modifier is specified explicitly,
it overrides the implicit behavior either way.
And, when order(reproducible:concurrent) is used with e.g. schedule(dynamic)
or some other schedule that is by definition not reproducible, it is
implementation's duty to ensure it is reproducible, either by remembering how
it scheduled some loop and then replaying the same schedule when seeing loops
with the same directive/schedule/number of iterations, or by overriding the
schedule to some reproducible one.
This patch doesn't implement the 5.2 wording just yet, but in the FEs
differentiates between the 3 states - no explicit modifier, explicit reproducible
or explicit unconstrainted, so that the middle-end can easily switch any time.
Instead it follows the 5.1 wording where both order(concurrent) (implicit or
explicit) or order(reproducible:concurrent) imply reproducibility.
And, it implements the easier method, when for/do should be reproducible, it
just chooses static schedule. order(concurrent) implies no OpenMP APIs in the
loop body nor threadprivate vars, so the exact scheduling isn't (easily at least)
observable.

This patch adds handling for unconstrained and reproducible modifiers on
order(concurrent) clause. For all static schedules (including auto and
no schedule or dist_schedule clauses) I believe what we implement is
reproducible, so the patch doesn't do much beyond recognizing those.
Note, there is an OpenMP/spec issue that needs resolution on what
should happen with the dynamic schedules (whether it should be an error
to mix such clauses, or silently make it non-reproducible, and in which
exact cases), so it might need some follow-up.
Besides that, this patch allows order(concurrent) clause on the distribute
construct which is something also added in OpenMP 5.1, and finally
check the newly added restriction that at most one order clause
can appear on a construct.
The allowing of order clause on distribute has a side-effect that
order(concurrent) copyin(thrpriv) is no longer allowed on combined/composite
constructs with distribute parallel for{, simd} in it, previously the
order applied only to for/simd and so a threadprivate var could be seen
in the construct, but now it also applies to distribute and so on the parallel
we shouldn't refer to a threadprivate var.

This patch implements OpenMP 5.1 atomics (with clarifications from upcoming 5.2).
The most important changes are that it is now possible to write (for C/C++,
for Fortran it was possible before already) min/max atomics and more importantly
compare and exchange in various forms.
Also, acq_rel is now allowed on read/write and acq_rel/acquire are allowed on

'device_num' and 'ancestor' are now parsed on target device constructs for C,
C++, and Fortran (see OpenMP specification 5.0, p. 170). When 'ancestor' is

With strict: modifier on these clauses, the standard is explicit about
how many iterations (and which) each generated task of taskloop directive
should contain. For num_tasks it actually matches what we were already
implementing, but for grainsize it does not (and even violates the old
rule - without strict it requires that the number of iterations (unspecified
which exactly) handled by each generated task is >= grainsize argument and
< 2 * grainsize argument, with strict: it requires that each generated
task handles exactly == grainsize argument iterations, except for the
generated task handling the last iteration which can handles <= grainsize
iterations).
The following patch implements it for C and C++.

This patch implements the OpenMP 5.1 scope construct, which is similar
to worksharing constructs in many regards, but isn't one of them.
The body of the construct is encountered by all threads though, it can
be nested in itself or intermixed with taskgroup and worksharing etc.
constructs can appear inside of it (but it can't be nested in
worksharing etc. constructs). The main purpose of the construct
is to allow reductions (normal and task ones) without the need to
close the parallel and reopen another one.
If it doesn't have task reductions, it can be implemented without
any new library support, with nowait it just does the privatizations
at the start if any and reductions before the end of the body, with
without nowait emits a normal GOMP_barrier{,_cancel} at the end too.
For task reductions, we need to ensure only one thread initializes
the task reduction library data structures and other threads copy from that,
so a new GOMP_scope_start routine is added to the library for that.
It acts as if the start of the scope construct is a nowait worksharing
construct (that is ok, it can't be nested in other worksharing
constructs and all threads need to encounter the start in the same
order) which does the task reduction initialization, but as the body
can have other scope constructs and/or worksharing constructs, that is
all where we use this dummy worksharing construct. With task reductions,
the construct must not have nowait and ends with a GOMP_barrier{,_cancel},
followed by task reductions followed by GOMP_workshare_task_reduction_unregister.
Only C/C++ FE support is done.

This construct has been introduced as a replacement for master
construct, but unlike that construct is slightly more general,
has an optional clause which allows to choose which thread
will be the one running the region, it can be some other thread
than the master (primary) thread with number 0, or it could be no
threads or multiple threads (then of course one needs to be careful
about data races).
It is way too early to deprecate the master construct though, we don't
even have OpenMP 5.0 fully implemented, it has been deprecated in 5.1,
will be also in 5.2 and removed in 6.0. But even then it will likely
be a good idea to just -Wdeprecated warn about it and still accept it.
The patch also contains something I should have done much earlier,
for clauses that accept some integral expression where we only care
about the value, forces during gimplification that value into
either a min invariant (as before), SSA_NAME or a fresh temporary,
but never e.g. a user VAR_DECL, so that for those clauses we don't
need to worry about adjusting it.

In OpenMP 5.1 "master thread" was changed to "primary thread" and
the proc_bind clause and the OMP_PROC_BIND environment variable
now take 'primary' as argument as alias for 'master', while the
latter is deprecated.
This commit accepts 'primary' and adds the named constant
omp_proc_bind_primary and changes 'master thread' in the
documentation; however, given that not even OpenMP 5.0 is
fully supported, omp_display_env and the dumps currently
still output 'master' and there is no deprecation warning
when using the 'master' in the proc_bind clause.

When diagnostic messages use pretty-printer formats like %D or %E
the pp_printf invocation can end up in tree pretty-printers which
then have to avoid using pp_printf themselves since this function
is not re-entrant.
The following removes all pp_printf uses from tree-pretty-print.c
fixing the observed malformed diagnostics. It also poisons the
identifier so new uses are less likely to creep in.

After discussion with Richard Sandiford on IRC, he suggested adding a
new mode class MODE_OPAQUE to deal with the problems (PR 96791) we had
been having with POImode/PXImode in powerpc target. This patch is the
accumulation of changes I needed to make to add this and make it useable
for the purposes of what power10 MMA needed.
MODE_OPAQUE modes allow you to have modes for which you can just
define loads and stores. By design, optimization does not expect to
know how to do arithmetic or subregs on these modes. This allows us to
have modes for multi-register vector operations where we don't want to
open Pandora's Box and define general arithmetic operations.
This patch will be followed by a target specific patch to change the
powerpc power10 MMA builtins to use opaque modes, and will also let use
use the vector pair loads/stores defined with that in the inline expansion
of memcpy/memmove, allowing me to fix PR 96791.

In cleaning up C++'s handling of hidden decls, I renamed its
DECL_BUILTIN_P, which checks for loc == BUILTINS_LOCATION to
DECL_UNDECLARED_BUILTIN_P, because the location gets updated, if user
source declares the builtin, and the predicate no longer holds. The
original name was confusing me. (The builtin may still retain builtin
properties in the redeclaration, and other predicates can still detect
that.)
I discovered that tree.h had its own variant 'DECL_IS_BUILTIN', which
behaves in (almost) the same manner. And therefore has the same
mutating behaviour.
This patch deletes the C++ one, and renames tree.h's to
DECL_IS_UNDECLARED_BUILTIN, to emphasize its non-constantness. I
guess _IS_ wins over _P

This patch removes the generation of HSAIL from the compiler, the HSA
offloading plugin from libgomp and the associated testsuite tests and
infrastructure bits from the respective testsuites.
Apart from removal of the obvious files, I removed bits that I found
by searching for HSA related terms and by re-tracing my steps and
looking at the patches that introduced HSA in the first place. I did
not remove everything these patches brought in, for example:
- the mechanism to pass offload-target specific info from the application to
the offloading plugin - but the same mechanism is also used to
communicate number of teams and the thread limit to all offload targets.
- run_func hook in gomp_device_descr stays too, although now it is
not used. If some future offload target would like the ability to
refuse to offload some functions, it can use it. It is easy to
remove as a follow-up if it is considered clutter, though.
- configure options --with-hsa-runtime=PATH, -with-hsa-runtime-include=PATH
and --with-hsa-runtime-lib=PATH rmeain because GCN uses them too.
- Surprisingly, GOMP_TARGET_ARG_HSA_KERNEL_ATTRIBUTES (a constant
from gomp-constants.h) appears in the source of the amdgcn libgomp
plugin, although I tend to think that code path is not ever used
and this patch certainly removes it from the compiler.
Nevertheless, it seems it has potential value beyond HSAIL and so
I've kept it, it can of course always be easily removed in the
future of GCN folk abandon it too.
- I assume constants OFFLOAD_TARGET_TYPE_HSA and GOMP_DEVICE_HSA
need to stay indefinitely too just so that no future offload
target picks that number.
- I have kept dg-require-effective-target
offload_device_nonshared_as requirement of thests which have it.
It is quite probable I missed some small HSA artifacts but those
should be easy to remove later as we find them.

The testcase has failed since r9-5035, because obj_type_ref_class
tries to look up an ODR type when no ODR type information is
available. (The information was available earlier in the
compilation, but was freed during pass_ipa_free_lang_data.)
We then crash dereferencing the null get_odr_type result.
The test passes with -O2. However, it fails again if -fdump-tree-all
is used, since obj_type_ref_class is called indirectly from the
dump routines.
Other code creates ODR type entries on the fly by passing “true”
as the insert parameter. But obj_type_ref_class can't do that
unconditionally, since it should have no side-effects when used
from the dumping code.
Following a suggestion from Honza, this patch adds parameters
to say whether the routines are being called from dump routines
and uses those to derive the insert parameter.

OpenMP 5.0 adds support for non-rectangular loop collapses, e.g.
triangular and more complex.
This patch deals just with the diagnostics so that they aren't rejected
immediately as before. As the spec generally requires as before that the
iteration variable initializer and bound in the comparison as invariant
vs. the outermost loop, and just add some exceptional forms that can violate
that, we need to avoid folding the expressions until we can detect them and
in order to avoid folding it later on, I chose to use a TREE_VEC in those
expressions to hold the var_outer * expr1 + expr2 triplet, the patch adds
pretty-printing of that, gimplification etc. and just sorry_at during
omp expansion for now.
The next step will be to implement the different cases of that one by one.

AVX512-style masks and SVE-style predicates can be difficult
to debug in gimple dumps, since the types are printed like this:
vector(4) <unnamed type> foo;
Some important details are hidden by that <unnamed type>,
such as the number of bits in an element and whether the type
is signed or unsigned.
This patch uses an ad-hoc syntax for printing unnamed
boolean types. Normal frontend ones should be handled
by the earlier TYPE_NAME code.

The following testcase fails to assemble, as CONST_STRING in the DEBUG_INSNs
is printed as is, so if it contains \n and/or \r, we are in trouble:
.loc 1 14 3

In the gimple dumps we print those (STRING_CSTs) as
# DEBUG haystack => D#1
# DEBUG needle => "\n"
so this patch uses what we use in tree printing for the CONST_STRINGs too.

The `serial' construct (cf. section 2.5.3 of the OpenACC 2.6 standard)
is equivalent to a `parallel' construct with clauses `num_gangs(1)
num_workers(1) vector_length(1)' implied.
These clauses are therefore not supported with the `serial'
construct. All the remaining clauses accepted with `parallel' are also
accepted with `serial'.
The `serial' construct is implemented like `parallel', except for
hardcoding dimensions rather than taking them from the relevant
clauses, in `expand_omp_target'.
Separate codes are used to denote the `serial' construct throughout the
middle end, even though the mapping of `serial' to an equivalent
`parallel' construct could have been done in the individual language
frontends. In particular, this allows to distinguish between compute
constructs in warnings, error messages, dumps etc.
