It's been inconvenient that pretty-printing of PTRMEM_CST didn't display
what member the constant refers to.
Adding that is complicated by the absence of a langhook for CONSTANT_CLASS_P
nodes; the simplest fix for that is to use the tcc_exceptional hook for
tcc_constant as well.
gcc/cp/ChangeLog:
* ptree.c (cxx_print_xnode): Handle PTRMEM_CST.
gcc/ChangeLog:
* langhooks.h (struct lang_hooks): Adjust comment.
* print-tree.c (print_node): Also call print_xnode hook for
tcc_constant class.

This patch adds a lang hook for defining a struct/RECORD_TYPE
“as if” it had appeared directly in the source code. It follows
the similar existing hook for enums.
It's the caller's responsibility to create the fields
(as FIELD_DECLs) but the hook's responsibility to create
and declare the associated RECORD_TYPE.
For now the hook is hard-coded to do the equivalent of:
typedef struct NAME { FIELDS } NAME;
but this could be controlled by an extra parameter if some callers
want a different behaviour in future.
The motivating use case is to allow the long list of struct
definitions in arm_neon.h to be provided by the compiler,
which in turn unblocks various arm_neon.h optimisations.

The build is broken since a3d3e8c362c2 since it's deleted the ability to pass
vec<> by value and now must be past by reference.
However some language hooks used by AArch64 were not updated and breaks the

This makes sure to emit full declaration DIEs including
formal parameters for used external functions. This helps
debugging when debug information of the external entity is
not available and also helps external tools cross-checking
ABI compatibility which was the bug reporters use case.
For cc1 this affects debug information size as follows:
VM SIZE FILE SIZE
++++++++++++++ GROWING ++++++++++++++
[ = ] 0 .debug_info +1.63Mi +1.3%
[ = ] 0 .debug_str +263Ki +3.4%
[ = ] 0 .debug_abbrev +101Ki +4.9%
[ = ] 0 .debug_line +5.71Ki +0.0%
+44% +16 [Unmapped] +48 +1.2%
-------------- SHRINKING --------------
[ = ] 0 .debug_loc -213 -0.0%
-0.0% -48 .text -48 -0.0%
[ = ] 0 .debug_ranges -16 -0.0%
-0.0% -32 TOTAL +1.99Mi +0.6%
and DWARF compression via DWZ can only shave off minor bits
here.
Previously we emitted no DIEs for external functions at all
unless they were referenced via DW_TAG_GNU_call_site which
for some GCC revs caused a regular DIE to appear and since
GCC 4.9 only a stub without formal parameters. This means
at -O0 we did not emit any DIE for external functions
but with optimization we emitted stubs.

In the r10-7197-gbae7b38cf8a21e068ad5c0bab089dedb78af3346 commit I've
noticed duplicated word in a message, which lead me to grep for those and
we have a tons of them.
I've used
grep -v 'long long\|optab optab\|template template\|double double' *.[chS] */*.[chS] *.def config/*/* 2>/dev/null | grep ' \([a-zA-Z]\+\) \1 '
Note, the command will not detect the doubled words at the start or end of
line or when one of the words is at the end of line and the next one at the
start of another one.
Some of it is fairly obvious, e.g. all the "the the" cases which is
something I've posted and committed patch for already e.g. in 2016,
other cases are often valid, e.g. "that that" seems to look mostly ok to me.
Some cases are quite hard to figure out, I've left out some of them from the
patch (e.g. "and and" in some cases isn't talking about bitwise/logical and
and so looks incorrect, but in other cases it is talking about those
operations).
In most cases the right solution seems to be to remove one of the duplicated
words, but not always.
I think most important are the ones with user visible messages (in the patch
3 of the first 4 hunks), the rest is just comments (and internal
documentation; for that see the doc/tm.texi changes).

Although it's possible to define the SVE intrinsics in a normal header
file, it's much more convenient to define them directly in the compiler.
This also speeds up compilation and gives better error messages.
The idea is therefore for arm_sve.h (the main intrinsics header file)
to have the pragma:
#pragma GCC aarch64 "arm_sve.h"
telling GCC to define (almost) everything arm_sve.h needs to define.
The target then needs a way of injecting new built-in function
declarations during compilation.
The main hook for defining built-in functions is add_builtin_function.
This is designed for use at start-up, and so has various features that
are correct in that context but not for the pragma above:
(1) the location is always BUILTINS_LOCATION, whereas for arm_sve.h
it ought to be the location of the pragma.
(2) the function is only immediately visible if it's in the implementation
namespace, whereas the pragma is deliberately injecting functions
into the general namespace.
(3) there's no attempt to emulate a normal function declaration in
C or C++, whereas functions declared by the pragma should be
checked in the same way as an open-coded declaration would be.
E.g. we should get an error if there was a previous incompatible
declaration.
(4) in C++, the function is treated as extern "C" and so can't be
overloaded, whereas SVE intrinsics do use function overloading.
This patch therefore adds a hook that targets can use to inject
the equivalent of a source-level function declaration, but bound
to a BUILT_IN_MD function.
The main SVE intrinsic patch has tests to make sure that we report an
error for conflicting definitions that appear either before or after
including arm_sve.h.

This patch completes the infrastructure for the introduction of
statement frontiers in C-family languages.
It brings in all the code remaining code needed to introduce and
transform begin stmt trees, gimple stmts, insns and notes, and
ultimately use them to generate the is_stmt column in DWARF2+ line
number tables/programs, however none of it is activated: the option
that would do so will be introduced in a subsequent patch.
This patch depends on an earlier patch with not-quite-boilerplate
changes towards SFN.

This adds fix-it hints to c-format.c so that it can (sometimes) suggest
the format string the user should have used.
The patch adds selftests for the new code in c-format.c. These
selftests are thus lang-specific. This is the first time we've had
lang-specific selftests, and hence the patch also adds a langhook for
running them. (Note that currently the Makefile only invokes the
selftests for cc1).

Front-ends like GNAT for Ada sometimes use biased encodings for integral
types. This change creates a new language hook so that the bias
information can make it into the debugging information back-end and
introduces an experimental DWARF attribute to hold it.
gcc/ada/ChangeLog:
* gcc-interface/misc.c (gnat_get_type_bias): New.
(LANG_HOOKS_GET_TYPE_BIAS): Redefine macro to implement the
get_type_bias language hook.
gcc/ChangeLog:
* langhooks.h (struct lang_hooks_for_types): New get_bias_field.
* langhooks-def.h (LANG_HOOKS_GET_TYPE_BIAS): New.
(LANG_HOOKS_FOR_TYPES_INITIALIZER): Initialize the
get_bias_field.
* dwarf2out.c
(base_type_die): In non-strict DWARF mode, invoke the
get_type_bias language hook for INTEGER_TYPE nodes. If it
returns a bias, emit an attribute for it.
(subrange_type_die): Change signature to handle bias. If
non-strict DWARF mode, emit an attribute for it, if one passed.
(modified_type_die): For subrange types, invoke the
get_type_bias langage hook and pass the bias to
subrange_type_die.

Many artificial types are introduced by GNAT in order to satisfy
constraints in GCC's internal trees or to generate optimal code. These
hide original types from sources and miss useful information in the
debugging information or add noise to it and make debugging confusing.
This change introduces a new language hook to give a chance to
front-ends to restore the source types in the debugging information.
This change also enhance the array descriptor language hook to handle
array-wide bit/byte stride. Some arrays may contain dynamically-sized
objects. Debuggers need for these a hint to know the size allocated for
each element, hence the need for the array-wide bit/byte stride.
The Ada front-end is enhanced to take advantage of both hooks when
-fgnat-encodings=minimal, in order to keep compatibility with GDB.
gcc/ada/ChangeLog:
* gcc-interface/ada-tree.h (struct lang_type): Rename the t
field as t1 and add a t2 one.
(get_lang_specific): New.
(GET_TYPE_LANG_SPECIFIC): Refactor to use get_lang_specific.

(GET_TYPE_LANG_SPECIFIC2): New macro.
(SET_TYPE_LANG_SPECIFIC2): New macro.
(TYPE_DEBUG_TYPE): New macro.
(SET_TYPE_DEBUG_TYPE): New macro.
* gcc-interface/decl.c (gnat_to_gnu_entity): When
-fgnat-encodings=minimal, set padding types' debug type to the
padded one (i.e. strip ___PAD GNAT encodings) and set
constrained record subtypes's debug type to the base type.
* gcc-interface/misc.c (gnat_print_type): Print debug types.
(gnat_get_debug_type): New.
(gnat_get_array_descr_info): When -fgnat-encodings=minimal, set
a byte stride for arrays that contain a type whose debug type
has variable length.
(LANG_HOOKS_GET_DEBUG_TYPE): Redefine macro to implement the
debug type language hook.
* gcc-interface/utils.c (maybe_pad_type): When
-fgnat-encodings=minimal, set padding types' debug type to the
padded one. Restore XVZ variables creation when
-fgnat-encodings-minimal and use them to hold padding types'
byte size. For library-level padding types, share this variable
across translation units. Tag XVZ variables as artificial.
gcc/ChangeLog:
* langhooks.h (struct lang_hooks_for_types): Add a
get_debug_type field.
* langhooks-def.h (LANG_HOOKS_GET_DEBUG_TYPE): New macro.
