2020-12-04gimple: Return fnspec only for replaceable new/delete operators called from ↵Jakub Jelinek1-1/+2
new/delete [PR98130] As mentioned in the PR, we shouldn't treat non-replaceable operator new/delete (e.g. with the placement new) as replaceable ones. There is some pending discussion that perhaps operator delete called from delete if not replaceable should return some other fnspec, but can we handle that incrementally, fix this wrong-code and then deal with a missed optimization? I really don't know what exactly should be returned. 2020-12-04 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR c++/98130 * gimple.c (gimple_call_fnspec): Only return ".co " for replaceable operator delete or ".mC" for replaceable operator new called from new/delete. * g++.dg/opt/pr98130.C: New test.
2020-11-25Add EAF_NODIRECTESCAPE flagJan Hubicka1-1/+1
Main limitation of modref is the fact that it does not track anything in memory. This is intentional - I wanted the initial implementation to be cheap. However it also makes it very limited when it comes to detecting noescape especially because it is paranoid about what memory accesses may be used to copy (bits of) pointers. This patch adds EAF_NODIRECTSCAPE that is weaker vairant of EAF_NOESCAPE where we only know that the pointer itself does not escape, but memory pointed to may. This is a lot more reliable to auto-detect that EAF_NOESCAPE and still enables additional optimization. With patch we get nodirectscape flag for b that enables in practice similar optimization as EAF_NOESCAPE for arrays of integers that points nowhere :) gcc/ChangeLog: * gimple.c (gimple_call_arg_flags): Also imply EAF_NODIRECTESCAPE. * tree-core.h (EAF_NODRECTESCAPE): New flag. * tree-ssa-structalias.c (make_indirect_escape_constraint): New function. 2020-11-14Detect EAF flags in ipa-modrefJan Hubicka1-15/+38
A minimal patch for the EAF flags discovery. It works only in local ipa-modref and gives up on cyclic SSA graphs. It improves pt_solution_includes disambiguations twice. gcc/Changelog: * gimple.c: Include ipa-modref-tree.h and ipa-modref.h. (gimple_call_arg_flags): Use modref to determine flags. * ipa-modref.c: Include gimple-ssa.h, tree-phinodes.h, tree-ssa-operands.h, stringpool.h and tree-ssanames.h. 2020-08-25gimple: Ignore *0 = {CLOBBER} in path isolation [PR96722]Jakub Jelinek1-3/+4
Clobbers of MEM_REF with NULL address are just fancy nops, something we just ignore and don't emit any code for it (ditto for other clobbers), they just mark end of life on something, so we shouldn't infer from those that there is some UB. 2020-08-25 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR tree-optimization/96722 * gimple.c (infer_nonnull_range): Formatting fix. 2020-08-03Removal of HSA offloading from gcc and libgompMartin Jambor1-15/+0
This patch removes the generation of HSAIL from the compiler, the HSA offloading plugin from libgomp and the associated testsuite tests and infrastructure bits from the respective testsuites. Apart from removal of the obvious files, I removed bits that I found by searching for HSA related terms and by re-tracing my steps and looking at the patches that introduced HSA in the first place. I did not remove everything these patches brought in, for example: - the mechanism to pass offload-target specific info from the application to the offloading plugin - but the same mechanism is also used to communicate number of teams and the thread limit to all offload targets. - run_func hook in gomp_device_descr stays too, although now it is not used. If some future offload target would like the ability to refuse to offload some functions, it can use it. It is easy to remove as a follow-up if it is considered clutter, though. - configure options --with-hsa-runtime=PATH, -with-hsa-runtime-include=PATH and --with-hsa-runtime-lib=PATH rmeain because GCN uses them too. - Surprisingly, GOMP_TARGET_ARG_HSA_KERNEL_ATTRIBUTES (a constant from gomp-constants.h) appears in the source of the amdgcn libgomp plugin, although I tend to think that code path is not ever used and this patch certainly removes it from the compiler. Nevertheless, it seems it has potential value beyond HSAIL and so I've kept it, it can of course always be easily removed in the future of GCN folk abandon it too. - I assume constants OFFLOAD_TARGET_TYPE_HSA and GOMP_DEVICE_HSA need to stay indefinitely too just so that no future offload target picks that number. - I have kept dg-require-effective-target offload_device_nonshared_as requirement of thests which have it. It is quite probable I missed some small HSA artifacts but those should be easy to remove later as we find them. include/ChangeLog: 2020-07-24 Martin Jambor <mjambor@suse.cz> * gomp-constants.h (GOMP_VERSION_HSA): Remove. gcc/ChangeLog: 2020-07-24 Martin Jambor <mjambor@suse.cz> * hsa-brig-format.h: Moved to brig/brigfrontend. * hsa-brig.c: Removed. * hsa-builtins.def: Likewise. * hsa-common.c: Likewise. * hsa-common.h: Likewise. * hsa-dump.c: Likewise. * hsa-gen.c: Likewise. * hsa-regalloc.c: Likewise. * ipa-hsa.c: Likewise. * omp-grid.c: Likewise. * omp-grid.h: Likewise. * Makefile.in (BUILTINS_DEF): Remove hsa-builtins.def. 2019-10-07Allow COND_EXPR and VEC_COND_EXPR condtions to trapIlya Leoshkevich1-1/+13
Right now gimplifier does not allow VEC_COND_EXPR's condition to trap and introduces a temporary if this could happen, for example, generating _5 = _4 > { 2.0e+0, 2.0e+0, 2.0e+0, 2.0e+0 }; _6 = VEC_COND_EXPR <_5, { -1, -1, -1, -1 }, { 0, 0, 0, 0 }>; from GENERIC VEC_COND_EXPR < (*b > { 2.0e+0, 2.0e+0, 2.0e+0, 2.0e+0 }) , { -1, -1, -1, -1 } , { 0, 0, 0, 0 } > This is not necessary and makes the resulting GIMPLE harder to analyze. Change the gimplifier so as to allow COND_EXPR and VEC_COND_EXPR conditions to trap. This patch takes special care to avoid introducing trapping comparisons in GIMPLE_COND. They are not allowed, because they would require 3 outgoing edges (then, else and EH), which is awkward to say the least. Therefore, computations of such conditions should live in their own basic blocks. gcc/ChangeLog: 2019-10-07 Ilya Leoshkevich <iii@linux.ibm.com> PR target/77918 * gimple-expr.c (gimple_cond_get_ops_from_tree): Assert that the caller passes a non-trapping condition. 2018-05-18Replace FMA_EXPR with one internal fn per optabRichard Sandiford1-2/+1
There are four optabs for various forms of fused multiply-add: fma, fms, fnma and fnms. Of these, only fma had a direct gimple representation. For the other three we relied on special pattern- matching during expand, although tree-ssa-math-opts.c did have some code to try to second-guess what expand would do. This patch removes the old FMA_EXPR representation of fma and introduces four new internal functions, one for each optab. IFN_FMA is tied to BUILT_IN_FMA* while the other three are independent directly-mapped internal functions. It's then possible to do the pattern-matching in match.pd and tree-ssa-math-opts.c (via folding) can select the exact FMA-based operation. The BRIG & HSA parts are a best guess, but seem relatively simple. 2018-05-18 Richard Sandiford <richard.sandiford@linaro.org> gcc/ * doc/sourcebuild.texi (scalar_all_fma): Document. * tree.def (FMA_EXPR): Delete. * internal-fn.def (FMA, FMS, FNMA, FNMS): New internal functions. * internal-fn.c (ternary_direct): New macro. 2018-05-17Gimple FE support for internal functionsRichard Sandiford1-2/+9
This patch gets the gimple FE to parse calls to internal functions. The only non-obvious thing was how the functions should be written to avoid clashes with real function names. One option would be to go the magic number of underscores route, but we already do that for built-in functions, and it would be good to keep them visually distinct. In the end I borrowed the local/internal label convention from asm and used: x = .SQRT (y); 2018-05-17 Richard Sandiford <richard.sandiford@linaro.org> gcc/ * internal-fn.h (lookup_internal_fn): Declare * internal-fn.c (lookup_internal_fn): New function. * gimple.c (gimple_build_call_from_tree): Handle calls to internal functions. * gimple-pretty-print.c (dump_gimple_call): Print "." before internal function names. * tree-pretty-print.c (dump_generic_node): Likewise. * tree-ssa-scopedtables.c (expr_hash_elt::print): Likewise. gcc/c/ * gimple-parser.c: Include internal-fn.h. 2017-12-12[SFN] introduce statement frontier notes, still disabledAlexandre Oliva1-0/+24
This patch completes the infrastructure for the introduction of statement frontiers in C-family languages. It brings in all the code remaining code needed to introduce and transform begin stmt trees, gimple stmts, insns and notes, and ultimately use them to generate the is_stmt column in DWARF2+ line number tables/programs, however none of it is activated: the option that would do so will be introduced in a subsequent patch. 2017-10-20Add generic part for Intel CET enabling. The spec is available atIgor Tsimbalist1-1/+18
https://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/managed/4d/2a/control-flow-enforcement-technology-preview.pdf A proposal is to introduce a target independent flag -fcf-protection=[none|branch|return|full] with a semantic to instrument a code to control validness or integrity of control-flow transfers using jump and call instructions. The main goal is to detect and block a possible malware execution through transfer the execution to unknown target address. Implementation could be either software or target based. Any target platforms can provide their implementation for instrumentation under this option. The compiler should instrument any control-flow transfer points in a program (ex. call/jmp/ret) as well as any landing pads, which are targets of control-flow transfers. A new 'nocf_check' attribute is introduced to provide hand tuning support. The attribute directs the compiler to skip a call to a function and a function's landing pad from instrumentation. The attribute can be used for function and pointer to function types, otherwise it will be ignored. Currently all platforms except i386 will report the error and do no instrumentation. i386 will provide the implementation based on a specification published by Intel for a new technology called Control-flow Enforcement Technology (CET). gcc/c-family/ * c-attribs.c (handle_nocf_check_attribute): New function. 2017-10-10Require wi::to_wide for treesRichard Sandiford1-5/+6
The wide_int routines allow things like: wi::add (t, 1) to add 1 to an INTEGER_CST T in its native precision. But we also have: wi::to_offset (t) // Treat T as an offset_int wi::to_widest (t) // Treat T as a widest_int Recently we also gained: wi::to_wide (t, prec) // Treat T as a wide_int in preccision PREC This patch therefore requires: wi::to_wide (t) when operating on INTEGER_CSTs in their native precision. This is just as efficient, and makes it clearer that a deliberate choice is being made to treat the tree as a wide_int in its native precision. This also removes the inconsistency that a) INTEGER_CSTs in their native precision can be used without an accessor but must use wi:: functions instead of C++ operators b) the other forms need an explicit accessor but the result can be used with C++ operators. It also helps with SVE, where there's the additional possibility that the tree could be a runtime value. 2017-10-10 Richard Sandiford <richard.sandiford@linaro.org> gcc/ * wide-int.h (wide_int_ref_storage): Make host_dependent_precision a template parameter.
