The intrinsics MOVE_ALLOC, C_F_POINTER, and C_F_PROCPOINTER require deferred checks of part of their actual argument types which may be of "any" type. The following patch detects the powerpc64le-linux kind == 16 cases and for the -mabi=ieeelongdouble case (no matter whether it is the configured in default or just option used on the command line) uses _r17 or _c17 instead of _r16 or _c17 in the library API names. From what I can see, e.g. calls to sin on real(kind = 16) works fine with or without this patch (we call __builtin_sinl and the backend uses rs6000_mangle_decl_assembler_name which ensures __sinieee128 is called). What is clearly still broken is IO, where for real(kind=16) a a = 1.0 print *, a end we call _gfortran_transfer_real_write (&dt_parm.0, &a, 16); for both -mabi=ibmlongdouble and -mabi=ieeelongdouble I don't remember what was the agreement, do we want _gfortran_transfer_real_write (&dt_parm.0, &a, 17); for the ieeelongdouble case, or some new entrypoint for the abi_kind == 17 real/complex IO? Also, what about kind stored in array descriptors? Shall we use there the abi_kind or kind? There was originally no way from an actual argument to get to the corresponding dummy argument, even if the job of sorting and matching actual with dummy arguments was done. The closest was a field named actual in gfc_intrinsic_arg that was used as scratch data when sorting arguments of one specific call. However that value was overwritten later on as arguments of another call to the same procedure were sorted and matched. This change removes that field from gfc_intrinsic_arg and adds instead a new field associated_dummy in gfc_actual_arglist. The new field has as type a new wrapper struct gfc_dummy_arg that provides a common interface to both dummy arguments of user-defined procedures (which have type gfc_formal_arglist) and dummy arguments of intrinsic procedures (which have type gfc_intrinsic_arg). As the removed field was used in the code sorting and matching arguments, that code has to be updated. The KIND argument of the INDEX intrinsic is a compile time constant that is used at compile time only to resolve to a kind-specific library function. That argument is otherwise completely ignored at runtime, and there is no code generated for it as the library procedure has no kind argument. This confuses the scalarizer which expects to see every argument of elemental functions used when calling a procedure. This change removes the argument from the scalarization lists at the beginning of the scalarization process, so that the argument is completely ignored. A wrong decl for findloc caused segfaults at runtime on Darwin for ARM; however, this is only a symptom of a larger disease: The declarations for our library functions are often inconsistent. This patch solves that problem for the functions specifically for the functions for which we do not pass optional arguments, i.e. findloc and (min|max)loc. It works by saving the symbols of the specific functions in gfc_intrinsic_namespace and by generating the formal argument lists from the actual argument lists. (gfc_resolve_minloc): Likewise. * check.c (gfc_check_minloc_maxloc): Handle kind argument. * intrinsic.c (add_sym_3_ml): Rename to (add_sym_4_ml): and handle kind argument. (add_function): Replace add_sym_3ml with add_sym_4ml and add extra arguments for maxloc and minloc. (check_specific): Change use of check.f3ml with check.f4ml. * iresolve.c (gfc_resolve_maxloc): Handle kind argument. If the kind is smaller than the smallest library version available, use gfc_default_integer_kind and convert afterwards.
