2020-09-02fortran: Fix o'...' boz to integer/real conversions [PR96859]Jakub Jelinek1-4/+4
The standard says that excess digits from boz are truncated. For hexadecimal or binary, the routines copy just the number of digits that will be needed, but for octal we copy number of digits that contain one extra bit (for 8-bit, 32-bit or 128-bit, i.e. kind 1, 4 and 16) or two extra bits (for 16-bit or 64-bit, i.e. kind 2 and 8). The clearing of the first bit is done correctly by changing the first digit if it is 4-7 to one smaller by 4 (i.e. modulo 4). The clearing of the first two bits is done by changing 4 or 6 to 0 and 5 or 7 to 1, which is incorrect, because we really want to change the first digit to 0 if it was even, or to 1 if it was odd, so digits 2 and 3 are mishandled by keeping them as is, rather than changing 2 to 0 and 3 to 1. 2020-09-02 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR fortran/96859 * check.c (gfc_boz2real, gfc_boz2int): When clearing first two bits, change also '2' to '0' and '3' to '1' rather than just handling '4' through '7'. * gfortran.dg/pr96859.f90: New test.
2020-08-18PR fortran/96613,96686 - Fix type/kind issues, temporaries evaluating MIN/MAXHarald Anlauf1-0/+5
When evaluating functions of the MIN/MAX variety inline, use a temporary of appropriate type and kind, and convert to the result type at the end. In the case of allowing for the GNU extensions to MIN/MAX, derive the result kind consistently during simplificaton. Furthermore, the Fortran standard requires type and kind of arguments to the MIN/MAX intrinsics to all have the same type and kind. While a GNU extension accepts kind differences for integer and real arguments which seems to have been used in legacy code, there is no reason to allow different character kinds. We now reject the latter unconditionally. gcc/fortran/ChangeLog: * check.c (check_rest): Reject MIN/MAX character arguments of different kind. * simplify.c (min_max_choose): The simplification result shall have the highest kind value of the arguments. * trans-intrinsic.c (gfc_conv_intrinsic_minmax): Choose type and kind of intermediate by looking at all arguments, not the result. gcc/testsuite/ChangeLog: * gfortran.dg/minmax_char_3.f90: New test. * gfortran.dg/min_max_kind.f90: New test. * gfortran.dg/pr96613.f90: New test.
2020-07-18fortran: Restore translation to hint.David Edelsohn1-1/+1
This patch restore translation for the variable hint. The translation tag conflicted with the previous declaration of hint as char[] and broke bootstrap, so the translation tags were removed. The declaration was changed to char *. Update the PRNG from xorshift1024* to xoshiro256** by the same author. For details see http://prng.di.unimi.it/ and the paper at https://arxiv.org/abs/1805.01407 Also the seeding is slightly improved, by reading only 8 bytes from the operating system and using the simple splitmix64 PRNG to fill in the rest of the PRNG state (as recommended by the xoshiro author), instead of reading the entire state from the OS.
